While not bought from Amazon, having used this reel in a few times now out of a kayak and matched with a Penn Rampage 20-30 rod (23.08.13 - now reviewed this rod on Amazon as well), I've found the pairing an excellent combination with this Abu being easy to use with a fast wind in and easy set up.Speaking to a few fishing shop owners, it seems to be a very popular reel which combines some of the top of the range Abu reel technology but using less expensive materials.I'm hoping to go out and do some wrecking soon and will update then but in shallow water mackerel fishing it has proven to be easy and enjoyable to use.Recommended.UPDATE 20.08.13.Now used a couple of times for wrecking including mid (English)

Fantastic fishing reel. I used it on holiday in Barbados to go sport fishing for Barracuda, Tuna, Mahi Mahi (Dorado) and Kingfish. The reel was able to deal with even the strongest of fish with ease. The reel is robust and can operate perfectly even when salt starts to build up within it. The listed line capacity of this reel seems to be inaccurate as I currently have 210 metres of 45lbs 0.60mm monofilament line from Fladen on my reel. This reel can definitely hold more line than the manufacturer says it can. Overall, this reel is perfect for offshore fishing. It can hold strong enough line and has a strong enough drag to deal with almost any size of fish, with the exception of larger billfish.

Most places sell this reel for around £150, so I was made up when I saw it on amazon for £106, and quickly snapped it up, a superb quality casting reel for this price & worth every penny..

Have only been sea fishing a few times over the last couple of years and have been using a cheap rod and reel, haven't actually used this reel yet but the quality really shows through.

Very smooth easy to use reel.Set up to cast uptide and worked well with no problems. Caught both large Tope and bumper hauls of Mackerel on this reel.Very happy to recommend

What a reel considering It is for boat fishing it's also brilliant with off shore casting, took me a while to set it to how I like it now it buzzes of like a dream

To get the best from this reel you need to take out the magnets bar one and the brake blocks the other end clean it and lube with yellow rocket fuel.
