This is the second boat rod I have bought and that was because I was pleasantly surprised at how well it performed considering the low cost.My son used the first one to wreck fish and,although the largest fish caught to date was a four pound dogfish,it was certainly put under strain when my son foulhooked a WW2, 4,500 tons shipwreck!He had a thirty pounds' breaking strain line and the rod coped with some quite hard work.It is a well finished rod and the 6ft length is perfect for the Warrior 165 boat we use.Compared to another manufacturer's 30lb rod I bought on Amazon that failed (snapped,in fact,first time it caught the bottom - and with only a twenty pounds'

When you're out on the boat beginners sometimes struggle with a 8-9ft+ rod in a limited space. Just swinging a fish onboard can be a bit of an ordeal. I got this rod for my wife who only comes out with me a couple of times a year and it's been perfect. Sure it may take some of the fun out of fighting lighter fish but it's also no fun struggling badly with a longer rod. Being rated at 30lb there's very little you're likely to catch in the UK that this rod won't handle and we've pulled in plenty of double figure Pollack and specimen Ling with it.

This rod has been built with care and attention to finish as is all of ABU Garcias products have traditionally been.Light, yet powerful, this rod will probably be comfortable in exceeding its design class from time to time. Sensitivity is high so less bites are missed than with some rods I have used in the past.The handle is very comfortable but with loads of grip for wet or greasy handsDefinitely a great piece of tackle

I have been using different types and makes of boat rods and this rod fits perfectly on to my wish-list. It is very light for a 30lbs power yet very strong and durable. It suits my wreck fishing as well as my mackerel fishing. The size is just about right for my 16ft boat but the best of all is its price that will not break your bank! Awesome boat rod!

FEELS VERY COMFORTABLE IN THE HANDS, EASY TO PUT TOGETHER AND TAKE APART ,LIGHTWEIGHT, AND I AM VERY PLEASED TO HAVE GOT ONE . I BORROWED ONE FOR FIRST TIME AND WAS SURPRISED BY THE FEEL OF IT , LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING MORE LIKE IT NOT HAD CHANCE TO HAVE PICS TAKEN WITH THE ROD AS YET

Okay, it's no ugly stik but well worth £20. I have had no problems whatsoever, action is great, bite indication good and it pairs up nicely with my Abu 7000 with 40lb braid for targeting rays, tope, smoothound and even reasonable conger. Grab a bargain.

Very nice light rod just what I was looking for its ideal for wrecking and for drifting for bass over rocky ground unlike the uptiders it gives robust action if snagged and an ideal affordable price skipper of Viking 2 port talbot

I had an Abu Rod years ago and they were always Quality, when I ordered this rod I expected it may not be that good because of the price, wrong! this is an excellent rod would recommend.Delivery quicker than expected.

A cracking budget boat rod, the rod is well put together and for £20 is a real bargain. My only complaint is that on the first trip on the boat with it I failed to catch any fish( but that may not be the rod's fault).

Absolutely brilliant nice balance and it is great value for money and is also well balanced and Handel's catching the fish perfectly good value for money and high quality love it and really enjoyed using the rod

the quality of this rod is superb I just don't know how they do it for the money plus you get a rod dag and the packaging was good I would recommend this rod for just under £20.00 you can not go wrong ..........

The rod is of a great make and this is why I bought them.It is light and easy to set up and feels well balanced.I feel though the rod handle should be round,not witha taper.Very good rod and price great.

Not much to say really, £20 for an Abu Garcia boat rod, bargain!It is a 2 piece 6foot rod and feels very sturdy with the eyes well fixed in place.Item was securely packaged and arrived very fast.

Comfortable grip & nice & light. Only down side is the end is very stiff so you wont see it twitch when you get a bite.update 16\6\16, after use I take it back there is enough twitch on the end.

Incredibly strong and long lasting. Had 2 for 4 years and still in excellent condition. Rings have rusted away long ago on my other rods. I would recommend this rod to anyone. Great value.
