I love these toe clips!I had these on my last bike and they were great so i bought another pair.Ok why do i love them? This is just my opinion. I am not a professional cyclist but i do have a mountain bike and cycle a lot. Road, easy trails some light off road. Ive never fancied the professional pedal clips where your shoe has a fastener that clips onto the "pedal" having seen an accident where someone couldnt get their foot out in time. Also your shoe has a clip underneath so not good for anyone that likes to hop on and off their bike a lot like i do.If you have ridden a bike with just the pedals and no clip at all then i couldnt recommend these enough. They are well made, short so your foot can slip and and out easily, smooth so your shoe doesnt catch and no material straps to bother about. They keep your foot at the correct position on the pedal so it doesnt slip forward while your cycling and keeps the ball of your foot on the pedal in the right location. The only difficulty some may have is that when you take your foot out the clip swings to the underneath so you have to flip the pedal round with your foot before sliding it in but this is something you quickly get used to.Make sure you don't get it too tight. Im a size 9 shoe and use the larger size.

I have flat pedals, and as I have been getting better at cycling and increasing my cadence, I sometimes notice that my feet don't stay in the same position in the pedals. I considered going clipless, but I am a bit concerned about such a radical change, so these seemed like a good compromise, and as they are fairly cheap, if I didn't get on with them I wouldn't lose much. They come with screws, washers and nuts, and fitting to my flat pedals was straightforward, I just removed the reflective strip and the screws went in through the now available holes, in all just about five minutes to fit. Riding is better now, as the clips keep my feet in the right place even at high cadence or when the road is rough and jumpy. The only slight issue is getting used to getting the second foot in when starting up, as the additional weight of the clip turns the pedal down, but just a matter of practice I guess. Getting the feet out is the same as not having any attachment to the pedal, so no fear of falling to the side because I didn't manage to unclip!

bought these before I trial clipless pedals wanted to get used to cycling with the forward propulsion rather than jut down pushing on the pedals they are easy to install I had to drill my pedals but I put the cheaper pedals on the bike just incase I couldn't get on with the clips, they do take a little getting used to they hang the pedal down so when setting off you need to perfect the flipping back of the pedal to slide your foot in, I will be purchasing some clipless with flat covers shortly as these clips are great for when I go on treks but lousy for going to work as my work shoes are wide fitting and if you don't line your foot up correctly first time you ctach the bike frame on pedalling, they are hardwearing but I think clipless is the way for me using the flat cover for travelling to work, great price great item would highly recommend and you can notice the difference when pummeling the tarmac the extra grip on your foot allows you to pull upwards and forwards giving you more speed and comfort

I bought these and am giving them a great review. I deliberately didn't want any with straps on - just enough to get my feet in the right place, hold them there and then give me a bit of extra purchase just when I needed it.I used these on the Coast To Coast. Whilst proud to say that I didn't get off and push once - there were times when I just had to stop and get my heart and breath back on the hills. Getting my feet out of the clips - and more importantly getting them back in again when starting on a very steep hill couldn't have been easier. Get some if this is the sort of thing you're looking for.Advice that someone else gave was to replace the nuts with locking nuts to make sure they didn't come undone.I did this very cheaply and easily and will never know whether they would / could have worked loose. I do support and advise them being replaced, and to be honest I don't know why they are supplied with locking nuts in the first place. That would have given them full stars in my mind.

I use Shimano SPD-SL on my weekend bike and flat pedals on my winter/commute bike and wanted the same feeling of a secure pedal on the commute without cleating in. Using cleated pedals in rush hour traffic is suicide in my opinion. Saw these and gave them a whirl. They're fantastic.I can raise the pedal to the ride position, like cleats. I can pull up as well as push down, like cleats. And I can't slip off the front anymore when the weather is wet. Which it always is, in Britain. The difference is ridiculous. And coz they're half clips, you're in and out with supreme ease. After two weeks, I'm sold. Not only that but I've ordered some more of these with some alloy pedals and I'm fitting them to my weekend Specialized.I don't care if that's "sacrilege". These are brilliant. One word of advice, some people have complained about the nuts coming loose? When you've fitted them, drop some superglue on the nut. Stops nuts undoing. Top tip there for most nut/bolt issues.

Far superior to those (similar) I fitted to my pedals a few years back inasmuch that there is no width restriction, so now I can wear anything up to and including climbing boots when I'm cycling. I bottled out of the Shimano clip-ons that I'd ordered (and received), what with the (according with everyone except the masochistic Tour de France/highly serious/Velcro nutters) that it's not a question of IF I'm going to fall off, but WHEN! And how often! No such problems with these though. Easy to place your feet and easy to disengage. And, of course, you can pull up - not as efficiently, I suspect, as with clip-ons, but I can live without that extra one-percent. Anyway, good kit, good price, easy to fit, easy to use, comfortable, therefore highly recommended.

Absolutely delighted with these. I am a regular cyclist and cycle weekly with a club with rides in excess of 50 miles. I changed to SPD cleats last October but after 6 months and 1,000 miles of being "clipped in" I decided it wasn't for me. I fell a few times struggling to get my foot out on steep uphills and it knocked my confidence, meaning I stopped enjoying being out on my bike. I swapped to these a few weeks ago and use them with my Shimano shoes with the cleats removed. They are excellent! I feel secure on the pedal yet I can step down as easily as if they were flat pedals. I have my cycling smile back :-)Highly recommended if you are not getting on with cleats or if you want to move up from flat pedals but don't fancy being attached to your bike!

I really like these toe clips, they came promptly, were packaged well in that they weren't in a huge plastic packet.... They feel very sturdy and well made and I don't worry at all that the toe clips themselves are going to snap anytime soon, However with my pedals it took a little longer than I expected to put them on because my pedals aren't flat sided like most (search bbb mtb pedal mountainhigh, these are similar). Having said that, once I managed to align them they don't feel at all as if they are going to fall off. They are great for those who aren't confident enough to have shoes that clip onto the pedals yet I would have liked if they were a bit longer as I have quite big feet UK11.

I've fitted these Zefal strap-less front clips to my new Alu pedals. Noting other reviews said the screws/nuts were coming loose, I used blue loctite on screws as they didn't supply nylocs. It dropped them a star. I had to remove the front reflector from my pedals but stuck it back on the Zefals afterwards with hot-melt, which seems sturdy enough. At least I'm still street legal in UK. These only weigh around 60-70g in total and as I've put them on lighter pedals my bike still weighs in just less than 8kg (16 lb). These Zefals work better than I expected, on my Cannondale R900 used for general fitness road use, nothing serious, but will encourage me to get off the saddle more on assents.

Having purchased a pair of winter cycling boots I was having trouble keeping my feet on the pedals. I didn't want to go down the cleat route, especially in this weather so ordered a pair of these half toe clips. They are perfect for my needs, no more slipping off the pedal when changing gear or when coming out of the saddle hill climbing. Easy to get your feet out of but I still make sure I've loosened one foot before stopping (bit of a habit as I'm no stranger to cleat failures!)So if you want some security on the pedal and more efficient pedalling, but don't want to use cleats, these are for you....so good I bought another pair for my mountain bike!

These products come in a medium and a large. The description on here relates these to foot size but here's the thing, it's NOT the size of your foot that's really relevant here. The (upper) cup of the clip is really a one size fits all, the difference is that the BASE of the clip in the case of the medium is 4cms from attachment to toe, in the large this is approx 6 cms. The difference is related to where you want the position of your foot on the pedal. With the large your foot is 2 cms further over the pedal. I have 45 shoes and I had to change from Large to Medium as the large allowed my feet to be much too far forward on the pedal.

Wow, for such a small investment, these have made my life so much better when cycling out on the roads. I often time my outings and these have shaved off 5/10 minutes off my times, dependant on the routes I take. I don`t do less than 18 miles every trip, and although I am relatively new to the cycling hobby, this has shown me how effective these clips can be. I think I will invest in some proper shoes and clips, but for now, these are working brilliantly and they are easy enough to get your fit in and more importantly out of. I am a size 9 U.K and the X Large where a fab fit to my Trainers, cosy but I have fairly wide feet.

I like these for my mountain bike so my feet are not locked in when going over uneven ground but i can pick up the pace when i need to when it's even. I got them to replace a similar half toe clips which eventually gave up after years of use. These new ones are are a bit longer than i expected and I'd have preferred my foot not to reach quite so far over the pedal but maybe i'll get used to them. Also the absence of metal washer means nut and bolt fixes directly onto plastic so that may have implications on the durability and life span. Otherwise very happy especially because I couldn't find anything else that came close.

Worked for me. I am quite new to this stuff and had to find out they screw in to the front of the pedal and do not lay on top of pedal. Seemed wierd but it made sense once installed and makes pedalling feel easier and more efficient. I am size 9 shoe and went for the L/XL clip. I may stick some reflecyive tape on the front as I had to remove reflectors to install these.Definitely worth getting for this price and took 5 mins to install but there are no instructions.Update: Worth noting it can slow you down when going from a standing start as you have to fiddle around getting your foot back in the clip as you move off.

Great toe clips for MTB riding, no worries at all about releasing or twisting an ankle plus simple to fit and ride with a variety of footwear. Check your existing pedals beforehand - the backing plate supplied is quite wide, I had to trim it first inorder to fit and use it with my my standard MTB pedals. The supplied fixings, two backing plates, four fine thread screws and four nuts do the job but for extra reassurance I fitted my own spring washers. Loosely fit the clip and place your foot in the pedal position before finaly locking it all up.
