Although these are not the finest china within the Villeroy & Boch range, they remind me of some plates that my Gran used to own and nostalgia was therefore a strong motive for their purchase.The salad plates are small (a diameter of about 21 cm) and have a scalloped edge. Mine have gone through the dishwasher several times without detriment to the vibrancy of the colour.I have them for use in the garden, where their chunkiness fits in nicely and having a sandwich or a slice of cake is a bit more of an event. They are purchased individually, so it is easy to replace breakages, just note they ship in bubble wrap rather than a branded box, which is a pity given their rrp.
