Not the brightest of torches and certainly not as sturdy as some. I like it for it's simplicity and value for money.If your looking for a brighter more robust Varta torch, I can recommend the Varta indestructible torch - the 3aaa battery model. I like this model for the simple on- off switch, with no cycling through lighting modes, and a very good run-time for a cheap price.

Varta are a German company and this torch is much better made than most. No looseness or flickering, very nice spread of light, 8 hour battery life and Varta give it a 3 year warranty. I've had failures of the LEDs in other torches byt don't think that's going to be a problem here. Very pleased with this.

This torch does the job and there are numerous light elements so if one fails the others, I assume, would still light. However if you are looking for a powerful beam there are brighter torches available with a single bulb for a similar price. Hence only 3 stars.

A really good quality torch that is built to last. We bought 2 for dog walking. I must say that they are brilliant and an ideal size for the pocket. Nice bright led light too.
