I used this tarp on a Vango Halo 300 tent during a 4 day camping trip in Brecon Beacons. It's a fantastic tarp and held its form during a couple of day/nights of heavy rain, with nothing soaking through the tarp at all. Rain just drips smoothly off, thanks to its 5000mm waterproof rating. This tarp can basically be used on any tent as there are 6 guide ropes to peg the tarp in position above your tent, using your middle tent pole as as its anchor or rest. Just make sure the back end of the tarp slopes downwards for the rain to drip down onto the back slope of your tent as normal. Dont put the tarp on the front curve of your tent or you might have a puddle on your porch area.I used the tarp and assembled as you see in the product picture (my Vango Halo is a similar dome shape style tent). With one king pole in front, the tarp provides a nice shelter but smaller room to manoeuvre in. I think however, for more porch space, I will buy another couple of shorter king poles for the two corners but still have a slope for rain to drain off.I am afraid I forgot to take daytime picture of my tent but I attach a terrible night time flash photo of the tent/tarp which unfortunately doesnt show the tarp too well (I have the black colour one) but you'll see I have a camping table and chair under the tarp which I enjoyed having my meals on, staying dry while it rained. It was a little windy but not heavily. So my tarp hasnt had a full wind test yet. Will update on that aspect if I get those conditions in future.Warning. There are absolutely no useful instructions in how to put this tarp up on your tent. There are instructions in the tent bag but its inexplicably generic for putting up tents and not tarps! So no guidance at all on how to put guide ropes on which all came separate and loose. So I am knocking off a star for this oversight for beginner campers like myself. Although performance-wise, this is a 5 star product so far for what it does but Vango must try harder to make life easier for beginners or inexperienced campers. As I said, the guide ropes are loosened, so you need to know how to affix and assemble them which I didnt! I had to get the help of an experienced camping neighbour to show me how to thread the guide ropes on. The Vango guiders are pretty good length adjusters once you know how the line threads through them. They are not typical 3 hole plastic guiders, the design seems unique to Vango tent products. If you are a beginner or not experienced in tying your own guideline, I suggest you practice that first with youtube tutorials or similar. In summary, I enjoyed this tarp on my recent camping trip. Excellent heavy rain proof performance over two days. Provides great extra porch space for dining on a table and chair

Have to admit not tried this yet, what with it being the year of Coronavirus and all the camp sites are closed, and now we're getting into winter, however, I do have another type of tarp for use with a tunnel tent, so this one I wanted for a smaller 'trekking tent' (smaller and easier to erect), because also having a tarp means extra cover against rain when for example you're cooking outside and that sort of thing. Also makes a very good sun shade, which I've found especially useful. Another terrific thing a tarp does is keep the 'doors' of your tent flysheet dry, so that you can get in and out when it's raining without having a load of water dripping into the tent, or down your neck.Note: I modified the pole guyline so that there are now TWO guylines off the pole tip, this enables a two-point or triangular pegging arrangement which seems to me more stable, and is simply a duplication of how the other tarp does it. Will need an extra peg though. The tarp comes with a spare guyline which makes it easy.

After a recent bad camping experience in heavy rain when the rain poured in my tent every time I opened the zip door on my Vango Beta 350 XL tent , I decided to give this tarp a try and although I haven't used it in the rain yet , it fits my tent and will certainly stop the rain coming in an open door . Unfortunately there were no instructions regarding the fitting of the guy lines but it doesn't take a genius to work out what goes where . It packs up into a small bag and won't take up much space in a back pack and is very light . All in all , it looks to be a great asset to my camping experience. Highly recommended.

Just what I was looking for after over 40 years of cycle camping. It weighs in at 770 grams and the pole is 1.5 metres long. The pole is in 4 parts (shockcorded) and 41.5 mm folded. I don’t have a micrometer but pole is about 13mm diameter. Pictured is my trusty Macpac tent which is over 20 years old but imho the best 1person tent design there is (unless you’re mountain camping in gales perhaps). Not had chance it use it yet but maybe I’ll update this review once I know how it performs as a) a rain shelter and b) a sun shade.
