I commute to work on cycle, in the summer ive been using a Giro Helmet, as its gotten colder and darker i wanted something with less vents because of cold air and with more protection.* I have a very large cranium, its got its own moon and seasons, i have struggled with sizes of helmets and hats for years, this large size fits very well. Its snug without being overly tight, i would have loved a little extra cushioning by means of interchangeable pad inserts, you do get some with it but they are like for like, which in fairness is also a decent feature.*The helmet is less than a hundred grammes heavier than my Giro lid which is very lightweight,at under 450g its light considering the amount of plastic casing it has.* I still wanted some vents to allow partial air travel into the lid, this does just that, theres no need to get sweaty in a full lid. I didnt think i could fit a helmet mounted light, or a camera if i decide to get one, however i have done using cable ties as pictured. One tip would be not to tighten them too much as they could cut into the foam, however they are not noticeable on the head when wearing.* After a month of wearing it has not become less comfortable, the pads are intact and cushioning remains the same as the day i put it on, it feels robust, its obviously got a lot of fans in extreme sports so the fact its also so versatile as an everyday commuter lid is great.* With having minimal vents i find it useful for storing gloves, keys etc, something i couldnt do before with a fully vented lid.* The chin strap is totally adjustable and fairly easy to do, fits right under the chin and doesnt sit on it, a cushioned pad might be useful if you want it really tight but you can easily make one yourself out of the extra pads supplied if necessary.* It appears solid, im not shy in chucking it around and so far no scratches or dents etc, that said the ultimate sturdiness test is a crash and not something you really want to test! I feel confident however it would perform well and so for me this is the most important factor.* Overall its a fantastic looking helmet, the large size is nice and snug and its lightweight but with obvious protection advantages over a more traditional cycle helmet. Buy one if your looking for a well made premium helmet thats both great looking and sturdy!

Over the last few weeks, IlI have returned three helmets and I can say I have finally found the winner. I’ve been looking for a BMX-ish type helmet for cruising around the hood on my bike. Two of the helmets were advertised incorrectly as applying to biking or are questionable on safety—advertised with [certification] but with no markings or stickers lending credit to the claim. They also came only in a tied-off bag...sketchy. The third one had such a large dome that it made my head look huge....probably a safe helmet, but not the youthful look I was after.Opened the amazon box and was extremely happy to find the helmet in packaging worthy of a new helmet from a store. The box had the advertised certifications right on the front of the box. Additionally, the inside of the helmet had certification stickers and mfg date/lot stickers. All the info in the helmet and on the box made me feel like I was getting a legit safe product. I got the glass black helmet and it’s about as glossy as a highly polished car. I’m talking 95% mirror gloss. I like the green color of the brand stickers and the chin strap. Only one strap is green, the other is black. It also comes with a large orange sticker to slap on something and additional pads. The space/cut-outs above the ears is ample. The thickness of the inner impact foam and the shell along with the overall shape is just right. I feel like I’d be protected but also don’t look like a commuter. The fit is nice. With the pads, it sits on your skull cap evenly and is cushioned just right. Nowhere does it compress or rub on a given spot. There isn’t a back adjustment cage/dial to tighten it down, but it actually sits/fits so well when the straps are properly adjusted. Because of this, I wasn’t overly concerned it wasn’t going to stay on should I go airborne and skid on my melon. The air port holes aren’t very big but still allow enough airflow to move through that you won’t get too too sweaty. This helmet was a winner. I liked it so much I was adding my own stickers to it after only 5 minutes. I’d highly recommend this helmet and we’ll probably get another one for the family.

Bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday. I got the Extra-Small/Small helmet. However, she's a little on the petite side so I had to add a couple pads from a cheapo bike helmet that someone had given her. That's in addition to the pads already included with this helmet. The helmet fits snugly now, and doesn't move even when she moves her head quickly.I bought her this particular helmet as her favourite colour is orange, and I didn't want to settle for a less protective helmet given her interests. She loves it so much that she needs no reminding to wear it while on her scooter, her balance bike, or her skateboard! Bear in mind though that part of the design on the helmet is a whole pig stuck on the tines of a fork,so maybe choose a different design if that makes you uncomfortable. The package arrived promptly, and the helmet was in pristine condition. The included adjustment instructions were clear and easy to follow. The pictures and description in the listing are spot-on. I like that even though the helmet is for small heads, the straps are long enough that there are a few inches of extra strap. With the cheapo helmet she had been given, the strap was barely long enough to meet at her chin, which made it loosen very easily. The imp hasn't had a crash yet since receiving this helmet so I can't vouch for its durability. It does feel substantial and robust. Unfortunately, she faceplanted while out with grandma a couple days before the helmet arrived, so the poor girl got a massive goose egg that could have been prevented with proper protection.

I originally ordered this helmet in a size L/XL, since other reviews seemed to indicate that they run a little small and I'm just on the cusp between a S/M and L/XL. The L/XL size was too large and I was concerned about the amount of excess room my head still had in the L/XL helmet even with the thicker pads inserted, so I exchanged it for a size S/M - unfortunately the S/M is quite a tight fit, almost uncomfortably so. It seems that if your measurement falls somewhere between a S/M and L/XL there really isn't a good size option for you, especially if you've got long hair that needs to be kept out of your face (via a braid or other compact hairstyle). When choosing between the two sizes I'll probably end up sticking with the S/M.I'd much prefer risking a headache over risking inadequate skull protection, which seems like a likely outcome with the L/XL given that there was so much extra room for my head to bounce around in during an impact. In terms of overall style, the helmet looks pretty dorky - it sits pretty high on my head and there's not a good way to secure the long excess chin strap material, but the (lack of) style factor is a common problem for a lot of safety gear and I'd rather look "uncool" than end up with a serious head injury. The matte blue rubber is a nice finish though, so we'll have to see how it holds up after a few spills.

I've been shopping around for a helmet for E-Skateboarding. I find that a lot of the cheaper helmets out there is very specific to construction. It is usually bulky and not so good fitting for my head, or does not offer "good" protection. So I pulled the trigger on the more expensive brands like this triple 8 and I am liking it so far! When I first got this helmet I immediately can tell this is made for skateboarding. It is very low profile which exactly what I am looking for. If its your first time using helmets, you WILL feel like it is thick but this helmet is one the thinnest you can get while keeping you protected. The helmet is thin but provides adequete protection to my head and is also Multi-Impact,CPSC,ASTM rated. The fitting is I would say is true to size. measuring my head to be around 22 to 22 1/4 inches, this fits snug on my head with adustable added inserts to comform to your head shape. What I like is this is not heavy weighted. Bobbing and weaving my head doesn't feel as restricted as the helmet I had before. As I am using an electric skateboard for the first time, heavy head weight gets me off balanced quickly. All in all. I would highly recommend this helmet due to its LOW PROFILE size and comfort. I am sure it is great for other sports but this is one of the best brands for Skateboarding.

I bought this for casual bike riding with the family. I don't really like the look of the open bike helmets, and they tend to sit too high on my head...they just look weird in my opinion. I was a little concerned about how hot this style might get having less vent holes, but after using it for a few weeks I can confirm that it stays reasonably cool and comfortable even on hot days - certainly no hotter than an open style helmet. My head measurement is just under 59cm (58.5cm) and the L-XL fits really well. One thing of note that may concern some people (but does not bother me at all) is that the rear straps that come off the helmet line up slightly more over-the-ear than behind it.They do not compress my ears at all, but rather brush up against them slightly as the straps are out farther than my ears. You can adjust the strap angle backwards to alleviate this - but then the chin strap presses against the throat, which is really bothersome. I can't imagine that it would cause an issue with ear buds - but maybe with larger devices if that is your intent. I really don't even notice or think about it anymore, only noted when I was adjusting the straps the first time out of the box.I would definitely buy this again.

Im not exactly sure how to rate a helmet without including "it did/did not save my life," but outside of that it seems of good quality. Super crazy light, I actually purchased this for both bicycling and as simple head protection from bonks in caves/forests. Of course NOT for falling rocks or logs, in case that weren't obvious. I have a pretty enormous head, and the XL fits me fairly well. The ventilation is very good, but I will say it could be a bit more comfortable. The padding is a little stiff and sparce, and I could easily imagine extended use becoming uncomfortable. Also the only person this helmet will fit absolutely perfectly is someone with like three-day stubble on their head.It is of course a problem that exists in every helmet, but I feel almost judged by the little insert telling me how to secure my helmet. It makes it sound as though most people are able to get the thing nearly super-glued to their dome with proper adjustment, which is just ridiculous.Other than my own personal offense at the tone of the pamphlet, a good product at a good price

Read a lot of previous reviews before purchasing this product, and I am glad that I did. I was looking for an all around helmet that is good for skateboarding and snowboarding. I'm a somewhat experienced rider, and I have been holding out on getting a new helmet for a while now, and this helmet was a great choice for me.The first thing I noticed out of the box was that it was very light weight. I have a larger head, and triple 8 definitely runs a little bit smaller. I read the reviews saying to get a size up, and it was definitely the right decision. Usually I can get away with a medium with some helmet sizings, but definitely needed to move to the L/XL size for this helmet. The fit on my head was pretty much perfect, with a little bit of adjustments to the chinstrap it felt nice and like I said before was very light. It also came with some interchangeable foam inserts for the inside.A lot of my friends have worn triple 8 before, and I'll say that I'm a fan now. Really good helmet for the price point, looks really clean on your head too.

I'm gonna be completely honest. I bought this helmet the same time I bought a onewheel pint with the intention of being responsible and wearing a helmet when I rode it.The story begins when the Pint arrives at my door step and I'm so excited to ride it I completely forget to grab the helmet. Within 30 minutes of riding I push the board a little to hard and end up nose diving. Next thing i know I'm sliding across the concrete only to be stopped by my head hitting a curb. When the adrenaline quit pumping through my body I realized I had some pretty bad road rash and a gash on my head. I then go to the hospital to discover I have a pretty severe concussion. I've always been told I have a hard head, but it turns out concrete is harder. Anyways, the helmet is very high quality and comfortable to wear, and I'm very confident if I had been wearing it my head wouldn't be pounding right now. So yeah, you should probably buy it and actually wear it. I'm gonna go take some ibuprofen and reflect on my own stupidity.

I will start by saying that I’ve always disliked safety Sally’s. From the way I was raised to joining the military and being around “meat-eating” grunts, Ive always been the “get it done and don’t be a pansy” testosterone-driven type of guy. I had never broken a bone until about 6 months ago riding an electric skateboard. Something told me I should wear my helmet that day. I honestly believe that of it wasn’t for this helmet I would’ve killed himself on that fall. I was going extremely fast and landed head-on first. I remember trying to correct my fall as I hit the pavement, but it just wasn’t happening. Fast forward 6 months later,I am still recovering from my arm fracture with a possibility of corrective surgery. This taught me a life lesson and I will no longer ride anything without a helmet. Please use a helmet. This helmet did a great job for me and it saved my life. I’m posting this as I search for a higher end bicycle helmet.WEAR IT

Super reliable and sturdy helmet. The make feels strong and reliable-- I have trusted it to protect my noggin while riding dangerous Brooklyn and Boston streets. My only complaint about this helmet was that it was, initially, uncomfortably small on me. I'm a small person (5'3) and consider my head pretty normal-sized, but the small-medium did not fit comfortably when I put it on-- I had to remove the included padding around back of the head to keep it from feeling like it was squeezing my brain. (Those came out easily enough, as they're velcroed in, so I didn't feel the need to return it.) I don't think this effects the safety of the helmet-- at least I hope not-- though I've never tested it out. This may have been because of the shape of my head, so I would recommend trying similar helmets on before buying this one, or adjusting the interior strips of padding as I did if you purchase and find your head feels a bit tight.

Got my helmet tried it on the thicker pads seemed appropriate so I removed thinner ones and reinstalled wish there were more velcro anchor points feels weekly applied but whatever felt good when on. Strap...this is the one part I just didn't like I wish they added a plush cushion on the strap area similar to a motorcycle helmet for comfort because you want it snug but this is a pretty unforgiving strap and buckle but I have it loosened enough to not come off and not be horribly uncomfortable. I'm hoping in time maybe the strap even feels like its broken in a little so we shall see ive only just got it and I may add something to the strap to give a little comfort.6 ft 1 195 got the matte white finish fits my adult head great was worried because alot of these helmets are aimed at youths but the measurement guide worked the size is great overall happy

It's terrifically hard to find a helmet with enough chops to be certified CPSC and ASTM while being comfortable and reasonably good looking. I use mine as insurance for my longboarding adventures. As a kid, I cracked a child's bell helmet in half crashing into the corner of a mailbox; it saved my life. For ~$35, this extra bit of protection is a no-brainier. My head is 23.5in in circumference and the Large/XL size fits to within an inch. The extra spacers included bring it up to being a snug and safe fit.Pros:-Strap system is highly adjustable and easy to use-Extra set of large spacers (included)makes it fit better than most standard size helmets I have had.-Relatively Inexpensive-Tripple Eight quality and craftsmanshipCon:-Really does not vent any better than any other helmet (but then again you already knew that it wouldn't)

Perfect fit (got the s/xs per Triple Eights sizing guide), very soft feel, comfortable and stable. Other helmets of this shape tended to make me feel top heavy while I was riding and slid all over the place on my head because they were never quite the right fit. This helmet is super comfy and I feel confident it will keep me safe. It was also much cheaper through Amazon than through Triple Eight's online store. If you are ordering though Amazon though, this is VERY IMPORTANT: Before ordering, go to Triple Eight's website, locate the product page for the EXACT helmet you want to order and follow their sizing guide. Different models of helmets have difference sizing guides, and for all the products that I have ever bought from Triple Eight (helmet, slide gloves, knee and elbow pads) their size guide has been spot on.
