I've bought 4 of these before. I've used them on my forks and seat stays for bikepacking over about 4000 miles - that's the good new. However, one slipped down the tapered seat stay after about 2500 miles. While trying to take it off to move it up again, in the middle nowhere, I realised a serious flaw - they don't undo! The allen bolt to separate the unit turns forever and never undoes. I think it might corrode inside and then break the bond with the platic around it (note that it hadn't been overtightenned and the brass thread stripped). I thought maybe it was only that one, but no. I tried to adjust the other and the same thing happened. I had to cut them off and fit new ones. Also if they accidentially slip/get pushed around, the hard plastic bit that pushes on the frame when tightenning can/does chew up your paintwork - I'd recommend a strip of inner-tube all the way around underneath in addition to the rubber protector supplied. I'm going to give the Zefal Gizmo III Bottle Cage Mount a try next time. The simple cable tie system looks much more reliable and lighter - but time will tell!

I'd just ordered my second cage mount for my second bike, I've got them on my handlebars with a clear bottle holder so that whilst riding I can more easily place my bottle and access it quicker when I need a drink, I have two cages already on my bike so for me its not about needing to carry more water but in theory I can now carry three bottles, I also bought the Camelbak Performance Bottle Hands-Free - Clear, 650ml:B005VCCS7KThis works nicely with this cage mount on the handle bars as you can drink and ride with the extended straw, it look rubbish with a front bottle but who cares when you can lean forward and slurp...

I bought this to carry a bottle on my handle bars. If tightened correctly its nice and sturdy. It has since been moved to another bike, where its mounted on the handle bar stem. My significant other hangs her handbag over the handle bars and wraps the strap around the Topeak Cage mount to secure it in place. So far no mishaps. Very versatile piece of kit, and can be used in many ways other than its intended purpose.

These are easy to attach and certainly hold the cage when installing and removing a flask/drinks bottle. The reason for four stars is when installed on the frame they do extend the cage slightly further than I exspected from the frame than some other products or the cage mounts in the frame. When installing the mount they seem to have some play but once in use they perform OK

Once you’ve fitted it, it’s great. It is very fiddly to fit especially the aluminium strap that winds around the handle bar. The excess is supposed to slot into a rubber sleeve but almost impossible to slide it in because of the rubber. If it was a harder plastic sleeve it might be better. I cut off the excess with scissors and it did the job. Otherwise a great product !

My Dawes bike did not have any mounting holes for a water bottle carrier. So, I bought this Topeak Cage Mount clamp & a Topeak water bottle cage holder.I am delighted! I don't need to fumble in my pannier for my water bottle.I have been using this mount & the cage for the past year or so and I am delighted with it. I get lots of people asking me where I got it from.

As others have commented it's slightly fiddly to fit, at times it feels like you need an extra hand, but once on it's secure. Will fit to horizontal or vertical tubes as the binding can be rotated 90degrees.I've got a 750ml bottle on my bike no and no sign of it moving.I guess the mount will scratch the frame over time, but I'm not that worried.

Got this for my girlfriend's bike which has no mounting holes for a bottle carrier. This mount sorted all that and she now has the adjustable topeak cage to go with it - although that was bought elsewhere.Highly recommended for anyone without the necessary holes.

Does the job great but does tend to 'slip' around under the weight of a full water bottle. Tried to tighten to the max but still got some slippage. Although I must point out, this did not affect the usage. I was still able to use on a 112 mile ride with ease.

I've bought these mounts before and I think they are good and really useful. They're designed to accept a water bottle cage but in reality you could attach anything to it. It allows you to locate the mount on any of the tubes on a bike

A great product, as always from Topeak, especially combined with Topeak's Java cagemount to bring Bluetooth amplifiers like JBL Flip. Safe when hooked, even on MTB in action, it goes off in a flash.

A little tricky to fit on my 30 year old Dawes Fox, but with the use of a little fexible rubber strip packing, now a good tight fit. Have no doubt it will stay put for a long time to come.

I have a Brompton for mixed commutes, perfect except no water bottle cage or mounts, this fits the handle bar stem perfectly and I have slightly loose so I can swivel when when folding,

Good idea but my bike has tapered handlebars so it works loose with a full bottle of water. I've solved this by using self amalgamating tape on the bar then attaching the bracket
