I have a Polar M450, it comes with a Heart Monitor but not with cadence sensor. Being Polar they sell Bluetooth Smart cadence & speed sensors at a mind blowing price plus its a pain in the ass to change batteries. It would be possible to buy a Polar cadence sensor for £35, however - nothing in life is simple - to get incline information you need a speed sensor (given that the computer's GPS provides speed info, you have to ask why you need a speed sensor?? - but you do)..It is for that reason I chose the Tom Tom speed and cadence unit based mainly on excellent reviews and the fact that the manufacturer is well known. The unit is currently doing brilliantly - but I would add three things that may make things easier for the setup.1)If you are first setting up the unit indoors, but aware that the unit will only register on the Polar computer (or other Bluetooth enabled computer) if you activate it either by spinning the pedals or wheels.2) The tolerances are quite tight for the magnets to be next to the detection unit (and thats the same for all units) but I have found a brilliantly simple hack. Buy some 6mm diameter neodymium magnets - they cost £2 for 20 from an online auction site. These magnets bind onto and extend the the distance your original crank and wheel magnets so they are within 3-4mm of the detector units. The magnets are so strong they will not be dislodged, and their magnetic strength helps to activate the units reliably.3) When you pair with your Polar unit sometimes the unit says it is still trying to sync, when it has already synced with the bike computer - check your paired devices and the bloody thing will be there smiling back at you.I have now have incline information, which is really superfluous actually, I know when I'm on a 9% incline because I'm puffing like a steam train and my legs are in pain. Secondly, all those little hills I steamed over are now revealed to be nothing but false flats - very, very disappointing. But hey, if I need it it's there. This unit is excellent. It took me a few goes to get it working mainly because i fitted it to a hybrid bike where the distances between the chainstay and wheel are much wider than in road bikes - hence the need for the super strong magnets. Plus it cost much less than the equivalent Polar units. and you can change the battery easily. Lastly because its Bluetooth Smart it will tell you - through your phone or cycle computer - when the battery levels are low.

Was a bit fiddly to attach as you need to get the sensors all aligned correctly and the spoke magnet needs to pass pretty close to the unit so I had to angle it somewhat. Once all the straps were tightened all I needed was to give the wheel a spin to get it broadcasting and it has been picked up by my laptop, phone and TomTom Runner watch. Being Bluetooth you can only pair with one device at a time, but that's all I needed it for anyway. Works fine with Zwift, although without a power meter you'll find that it has to guess what you are doing so you may not be moving related to how much effort you are actually putting in. If you input the correct wheel size, you get a pretty accurate speed readout and so far I have not lost connection while using the sensor. If you're looking for a small, simple speed/cadence sensor then this is definitely worth the money.

I was quote surprised to find a combined speed and cadence sensor for such a cheap price. After maybe 10 or 15 minutes of installation ans enauring the kit was secured properly. I put my bike on the turbo ans tried it out.I connected this to my TomTom spark 3 watch with ease. The watch automatically detected the sensor and started reading immediatley. At first I adjuated the size of my wheel, assuming it was diameter, however the correct size should be circumference, so ensure this is correct on your device.I've since been out on the road twice now and have no issues to report. I get accurate speed and distance and can pace myself with my cadence readings. Very happy with the product.

Works lika a charm. Easy to mount thanks to youtube tutorial by TomTom. Syncs perfectly with my TomTom Spark Cardio + Music. I have it mounted on a Cresent Helag 21 gear hybrid, which I suspect have a bit more distance between the frame and the rear wheel, but by angling the speed sensor slightly towards the wheel, the distance between the sensor and the spokes magnet is small enough for the speed sensor to work.

I bought this for the road bike I use on my basic turbo trainer as I wanted to use it with Zwift without having to buy a "Smart" turbo trainer. This is a top product from TomTom. All the right bits to attach it easily to my bike and much easier to pair with my phone and laptop as it is both Bluetooth and ANT compatible. Have done many hassle free virtual miles now and original battery still going strong.

Only set up but seems great so far.Worth noting, I had to lean the main unit towards the spokes as it wasn't connecting initially. When setting up if you rotate the pedal and wheel, listen out as you will hear a click so you will know it is within range of the magnetic field.Very good value for cadence and speed!!

Cycled 300 miles last month and the Tom Tom watch connected with the sensor every time to map my tour route, speed etc. Bit of trial and error to set it up but once working had no problems.

Connected to my Tom Tom watch straight away, helps me maintain the appropriate cadence as I train myself up for road cycling

Works as intended.. just deciding whether to fix more permanent to bike or leave tie wrapped.
