Just as expected, it arrived sooner than I thought it would. It comes within a small plastic Tiffen box. No damage or traces of previous usage on the package or on the filter whatsoever. It works great with my 35mm lens, especially when shooting at night with wider apertures, works like magic on highlights and skintones. I am in love. It is an awesome product. Highly recommend! Keep in mind that if you want to use it for longer lenses, you should go for something a bit stronger, like 1/2 or full 1. :)

The Tiffen Black Pro-Mist is an amazing piece of kit. Well known in the film industry but a bit of a secret weapon in stills photography.The 1/4 Black Pro-Mist slightly mutes contrast and gives a pleasing halation to light sources. I enjoy shooting street photography at night with these filters.The effect gets more pronounced at longer focal lengths so be aware that if you shoot longer than 50mm you may want to consider the 1/8 filter.

I kept seeing filmmakers and photographers in my industry talking about black pro mist everywhere... and I thought well how much of a difference could one really make?? Well let me tell you... it has made skin tones and skin smoothness sooo much better for my interviews and portraits that I will never go without one again. Even landscape and objects look more... cinematic with this filter on. Get one and stop thinking about it.

Picked this up since diffusion filters seem to be getting a lot of attention. Decided to go with Tiffen since they are one of the industry standards. I compared the 1/4 against the 1/8 and decided on the 1/4 since you get more of an obvious effect. Be warned, shooting backlit sun will wash out pretty much all the contrast, so use with caution. I like to use it to create softer highlight roll off against lightbulbs

If you are reading this, you know how nice the results from a Pro-Mist filter are. So whats stopping you? I bought the 82mm to fit on a 77mm lens. I simply bought a step-up ring to connect then, OK, so now I can't use my lens hood but I got a matte-box. And a 4 x 4 filter was way too expensive.The filter is great. The seller was perfect. Item arrived a day early. Very happy.

Filter works pretty much as advertised. I bought this grade expecting a reasonably subtle effect as suggested by some reviewers, but I find it actually very noticeable, a little more than I had hoped. Not a fault of the filter in any way, but if I was buying again I would go for one grade less noticeable. I use it for portraits of show cast in costumes.

Great way of desharpening the image so things don't look so digital. Blooms the highlights nicely, and gives the appearance a lovely cinematic look.A good tip for those budgeting - if you use multiple lenses, get the size that fits your largest lens and then use step-up rings to attach to your smaller lenses.

I'm in love with this filter, I'm almost mad I didn't go all in and bought the 1/2.The 1/4 is definitely more versatile and has just the right amount of glow that you notice but it's not too much.All arrived on time and with no problems. Quality is perfect.

Just be cautious of the condition you buy in. I bought my 62mm filter in “like new” condition for £55. The filter itself is immaculate but the boxing was pretty damaged. A good deal though as I was struggling to find it second hand for less than £80!

1/4 is enough for me to achieve that softness of the highlights. The filter seems to be good quality. I just dont understand why tiffens filter is expensive compared to other diffusion filter.

Filter is very nice, not too exaggerated in terms of effect.I was afraid of delivery problems because of the glass fragility but it all arrived in perfect conditions!

Makes video look organic and reduces digital sharpening. 1/4 is excellent and is definitely enough to add the look without becoming too overpowering.

Gives a lovely 'dream-like' quality to portraits without detracting from the overall sharpness. Goes well with the Fuji 56mm f1.2 lens

Very sturdy product. Has been dropped a few time and it’s absolutely fine. Gives your image a very nice soft look

This filter is amazing. It removes some of the sharpness of my UMP and an adds a lovely, creaminess to the image
