I wanted one of these mostly because - apart from travel - I suffer from insomnia and often wake in the night desperate for a hot cuppa, but if I get up and make one it wakes up Grumpy...so I lie there umming and aahing and often end up not bothering. An ordinary flask would do the job but then you have the faff of taking off the lid and pouring it into a cup/mug before drinking.My sister has a Contigo Travel Mug which she thinks is the bee's knees. Her mug cost around £23 and is attractive with a metallic pink, slimline design (there are other colours). I borrowed it to test it out, and made tea (with a teensy bit of milk) to take to bed at 10.30pm. Sure enough,at around 2.15am I woke up parched and sat up to drink my tea. I was gutted to find it lukewarm after less than four hours, so decided against buying one, although it is ideal for my sis as she takes it to work meetings where it only has to stay drinkably hot for a couple of hours. So I was on the hunt for something more suitable for my purpose, reading dozens of Amazon reviews as usual. Yes, I do need to get a life.So eventually I ended up ordering this Thermos Ultimate (cheaper than my sister's mug too!) and am so glad I did.My first experiment was taking my lovely, mellow filter coffee on a six hour coach trip to an airport (yes, six miserable hours on a bus). I warmed the mug with boiling water for half a minute first then filled it with filter coffee and a small amount of cold milk. Around two hours into my journey I decided to have a drink, and SCALDED MY TONGUE AND UPPER PALATE! So be aware, this travel mug stays very, VERY hot. Nevertheless, once I got over the pain (ouch!!) I was pleased, but I ended up having to take the lid off and blow on my coffee in order to drink it! It was still lovely, hot and tasty after the six hour journey and well into the hideous airport wait.Then I got on my flight and bought a hot chocolate to drink immediately, and a mug of tea, which I poured into the mug. This also stayed REALLY hot throughout the whole 3.5 hour flight, and I left a swallow in the bottom to test how hot it was later. Amazingly, it was still piping hot some seven hours after filling it. AND it didn't taste 'flasky' as tea often does when in a flask for a long time.When I tried out my sister's Contigo mug, I also very much disliked drinking from a slit in the rough plastic top. It felt quite unpleasant, but my sister says she doesn't use that; she takes the whole top off instead and drinks from the metal rim. I wouldn't like that either, I don't think.However, this Thermos Ultimate has a funny little 'cup bit' that is quite pleasant to drink from, so I am very pleased with that too.It doesn't look as funky or trendy as the Contigo or other, inferior but pretty thermal mugs, but this Thermos Ultimate is so much more efficient and pleasant to use. It does not leak at all, either! Mine was upside-down in a carrier bag being bounced around for hours, and was fine.I've not tried it for cold drinks yet, but I assume it will be fabulous for keeping those freezing cold too. In fact, I would imagine ice would stay as ice for quite a while in this!!All in all, VERY chuffed with my purchase. £18 well spent.

I have found this Thermos to be fantastic. It keeps my drinks hot throughout the working day ( I make a coffee at 0700 and its still hot enough to be drunk at the end of the day even when having been opened throughout the day). In fact it kept them to hot at the start so you may need to experiment with the ratio of hot and cold in it. I also found that It keeps drinks really cold as well and was great to have when I was in Florida so I had cold drinks even when it had been left in my bag for a few hours and everyone else was drinking warm water. Its easy to clean out as it all comes apart although the drinking part is very tight and not the easiest to get in and out.

Wow!! Just wow!! What a fantastic product.This is a wonderfully thought through design. Very pleasing on the eye and well balanced and easy to hold and drink from.Only used for hot drinks so far and easily meets the 12 hour mark. On reading other reviews I tend to put liquid in at the temperature I want to drink it, and this works perfectly.Can operate on handed. Drinking spout works extremely well and the unit is completely leak proof.Tried it for size in a cup holders in a couple of cars and seems to fit very well. It certainly works well in the drinks pocket of my messenger bag when out and about.Built quality is exceptional and I'd say this will last many years.I was originally looking for a thermal cup/beaker and bought a far more inferior product which was rubbish.

So I took it upon myself to prepare coffee in the morning for all-day consumption in a busy office day (I have an espresso machine at home so I could fill this flask with 2-3 servings, maybe more without milk). It's very handy, and the charcoal colour looks good and understated (especially important if you do not want to appear like a berk with some brightly coloured contraption at work).I love the opening latch mechanism. Reminds me of the old-cigarette ashtrays in my parents' Jaguar (though the mechanism is not as elegant as those old-school Jags, but eh old childhood memories). When closed, it is doubly-secured by another handle.

I wanted a flask that I could take with me on film sets and easily drink coffee from without having to break and this is perfect. Didn't know what I was missing, I just make a cafeterie every morning and transfer it into the flask and have coffee whenever, wherever. It's saved me spending money on takeaway coffees when out and also it's just very convenient, making coffee once a day is much less time consuming. It's thrown around in my backpack and never leaked, feels very secure, keeps the coffee at the same temperature too, haven't had it cool down yet which is great.Basically I'm really stoked with it and it's changed my life, if you're really into coffee I definitely recommend.

This product is incredible.It's been dropped multiple times, even been for an adventure ride down a rocky highland stream.It's scratched and dented however the plastic parts have remained unbroken and fully functional.It's also the most insulating flask I've ever owned. Drinks stay hot all day, and I mean all day. I've made coffee to leave in the car whilst I do silly, all day long distance running races. I have a warm drink to greet me when I arrive back at the car many hours later.It's also used regularly for hiking in Scotland, it stays warm in the coldest of conditions and can be thrown in a backpack with no fear of it leaking.The only problem is,

Been looking for a decent vacuum flask that didn't leak while on the move. Screw on stoppers mostly do but these plug style ones don't. Unfortunately the rocker style button on my old flask had came loose and the lid started to pop open by itself.I usually put something hot in early morning before starting my commute and end up sipping it for the work day. Before this I tried other cheaper, less known brands such as InterFlask, Kooyi and the drink would be warm by late afternoon (about 10 hours later). This on the other hand was still steaming hot by evening! Very impressed.Another point is some flasks I use meant your lips touch the button and over time and it becomes discoloured.

When it says it keeps drinks hot, it really does mean it. I've made the mistake numerous times of assuming that by now it MUST be a drinkable temperature, only to burn basically my entire mouth on some scalding coffee.I even left the flip cap open for a half hour or so the first time I used it assuming that would cool it down quickly. Wrong again. The holes in the cap are big enough to allow an acceptable amount of your beverage of choice through when drinking but small enough, presumably by design, that very little heat escapes through them if the cap is left unclipped.I ordered this flask primarily due to its 'direct drink' lid, it's such a great design,

I use this thermos daily for work, and also for camping, long drives, and days out. it genuinely keeps my coffee hot for hours and hours to the point where I have to add cold water to my morning coffee for on the way to work just to get the temperature right and drinkable. It took me several tries to get the hot(boiling)/cold water mix just right but now I got it just right and keeps my coffee just right all day (it takes me all day to drink my coffee because I work in a busy hospital theatre and have to dash out for quick sips every now and again). Love the design the feel and simplicity that the flask has, it easy to use and clean, with the silicone shaped seals that can be removed easily for a more intense cleaning, which I absolutely any need for because I just prefer not to, well not true that’s because I have a dishwasher which boils any bacteria that may feistierSo the only real problem I have with it, is that my nose gets in the way, No it’s not that big, before you ask. I don't normally leave reviews, but I just had to with this one. If you are wanting a flask to keep your drink SUPER HOT, this is the one for you. I fill this before I leave for work and it is still red hot 12 hours later. I don't know how it works but it definitely does! The outside remains cmpletely cool to the touch. I drink black coffee and use this every day for work. Its amazing. I work for the emergency services so I can literally pull over, be having a cuppa and be able to just flick the lid closed and set off without messing with a half drank cup of coffee. I see some reviews have mentioned leaks, mine has never ever leaked. They must have just been unlucky. As for cleaning it,

I've been using this product for years, I only bought this because I lost my old one, they last for ages!I love this, it's easy to drink from but it's also leakproof which means I can throw it in my bag and don't have to carry it around in my hand. Invaluable on crowded public transport or when I'm out with the kids!It does keep hot drink very hot for very long so I've learned that if I want to drink my tea straight away I need to let it cool down before I close the flask (or add some cold water)!I also realised with my old one that it's very important to remove the rubber parts of the lid and clean those separately, otherwise they get gunky, I now do that every time I wash it.

As a user of an Oomph to brew my coffee, I've never been happy with the rate that it bleeds heat. By the time you've poured the second cup it's pretty tepid and if you like good coffee that won't do at all. So I had scanned around for a decent thermal cup to decant my caffeinated treat into. After browsing pages of pages of those standard looking handled cups with loosely fitted sip lids I stumbled across these wonders. With the Thermos name you know they're going to keep the temperature, but the design is also top notch. As a avid walker I figured these would work a treat on a hike. The lid is tight fitting and well sealed, so no worrying about leakage in the rucksack.

This is the sort of product you buy and feel really happy to have done so. I bought this because it was on a special deal: I didn't really need it, but I was able to envisage times when it might be useful. I decided to test it by making a coffee before bedtime and seeing if it would keep the drink warm until the next morning... The coffee was hot when I awoke, and I realised what a timesaver it would be if I could make coffee before bedtime and have it ready for first thing in the morning - saving a walk downstairs and kettle boiling at the crack of dawn. It has saved me money and time. I bought a bottle brush from the pound shop to give it a good and regular clean because a rinse under the tap is not going to be enough.

Well made (liquid stays hot for many hours - sometimes too hot to drink) - seems to be more emphasis in the design to better insulation around the lid area comapared to many other thermos flasks. Lid lock can be flipped with holding hand then button pressed to pop open the lid and then same hand to close and lock. Lid pops open slowly and if pushed a step further it is retained open - nice touch.One negative - care instructions specifically say that this is NOT dishwasher safe, and for it to NOT be submerged in water (when washing I presume). Little disappointed about this, but only negative. I have a Contigo thermal mug which specifically designed to be dishwasher safe so it is possible to design one of these to be so!
