Has a good reach, sometimes a little fiddly trying to open the rods to extend although this may be the rain which has got in at the joints. My only complaint is the ball scoop, it sometimes takes several attempts to collect my ball and then if your hands shake at all, which at full stretch is not uncommon, the ball promptly drops in the water again. Okay one might argue I shouldn't be in there at all, but it has also dropped out of the scoop having just been retrieved from a prickly hedge where I also shouldn't be.Despite that annoying little downside it works quite well as a ball retrieval tool and has added many balls to my bag, left by previous golfers.

It works, and I really like it. it's already paid for itself (a lot of water on the first 4 holes of my golf course). It does have one major design flaw though, it takes in water and leaks out the other end....which make the tips of your grips wet. Very annoying, so you have to remember to dab dry and try to keep it pointing down. I then carry it for the next hole and then it's dry enough to put back in bag, the real solution is to put umbrella slot (but then what do you do with the umbrella)

Slow delivery and damaged packaging but product itself was fine. Product is robust and reaches parts of the water other ball retrievers cannot reach. This has enabled me to off set the cost in only 4 weeks by the number of balls retrieved using this ( based on 50p per lake ball bought at the pro shop). Only complaint is the outer section has lost its ability to lock and can therefore move making retrieving balls sometimes difficult

A wonderful bit of engineering. It's great the way the hinged loop slips over the golf ball and then holds it in place while you lift the ball from the water. I used it at Alicante Golf Course the other day to retrieve a ball from a garden adjoining the first hole (I can't believe there's another course anywhere in the world with so many houses so close to the tees/fairways - hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds ...).

By far the easiest retreiver to retrieve balls I have used (have tried many over the years). Rather than trying to scoop which invariably causes silt etc to cloud up the area around the ball and makes it difficult to then see if you 'miss' with this device you just hover over the press down and 'et voila' - easy. There are far more compact scoops on the market but this in my opinion the best

Incredibly long retriever and, when head lowered onto ball, very, very efficient [ball can't escape]. Would be really good in a pond or lake. Has some difficulties at my course where water hazard is a flowing stream and the ball can be on the move or can get "snagged" behind a rock, but all in all a very good tool. Some of my playing partners are very jealous.

An excellent inexpensive retriever with long range. I play a lot of golf in Florida where it is foolish to get too near to water which usually contains beasts with big teeth so this like its predecessor is the answer. The " cradle" works well to capture the ball without having to make several attempts. All in all a good piece of gear.

What a fantastic ball retriever this is - particularly at the price.Several times over the last few weeks, one of the players in our group has retrieved their ball from the many lakes on the courses here in the Costa Blanca.Very simple to use and robust in construction - a must for every serious golfer.

Finally decided I needed to get one of these. Too many balls attracted to the lake magnet!!!The product is well made and on its first outing I retrieved half a dozen balls. Not mine I hasten to add, but good balls all the same. Therefore I view this almost as an investment.Recommend as a good purchase.

With the way I play this is a great tool to have in my bag. It is easy to use and its long reach is often necessary. I can usually find others when looking for mine which keeps my ball costs down so will easily pay for its self. It also means I do not have to get down into ditches that I end up in!!!

Good delivery. First time out this saved me and my playing companions four balls retrieved from the course river: ok we're not very good! Very easy to use with a long reach and more effective that my friend's, but a little more difficult to operate in soft river mud. A good price and worth buying.

needed thsi to retriev balls i keep putting in the drink - works well tho you do need to be able to put some downward pressure to grab the ball - anything that is a it mobile will not be picked up. Have saved not only my own ball but managed to grab another 10 so making the investment v worthwhile

Had used others before with a scoop design which would take a few attempts to pick up the ball. This is much better as you just lower the cage over the ball and it is automatically locked in. Not sure what other reviewers have found tricky about it, couldn't be simpler

One of the best Golf gadgets I have purchased. Well worth the spend as all the cheaper ones fell apart. It does the job, looks good and fits easily in my golf bag. Worth every penny. I do get envious looks from my fellow golfers! Well packaged and arrived early.

This thing paid for itself in a week or two when my local course had a lot of standing water on it. Works well but the mechanism can be a bit tricky to master at first, hence 4 stars. Extends a long way and is still usable at full extension.
