I have an ulcer, and as such, my tummy can be very tricky, but I can have this, even on a bad ulcer day, no probs at all.I like the whole range of Warrior Blends, but the Natural one is great as there is no stevia, and for my palate, this is preferable. Natural version also allows you to add it to sweet or savoury drinks or soups, also allows you to self sweeten to taste, or add vanilla or raw cacao to your own taste too - what more can you ask for. superb, regular item for me. I often have this for breakfast - I add more water than suggested, then one frozen banana, one date and some raw cacao. i sometimes toss in a green superfood such as amazing grass too :-)superb.THE FLAVOUR VERSIONS: When using the vanilla I add 2 bananas, and top the water up to 850ml, i drink one glass them refrigerate the rest and drink over the next 2 hours. This is a vegan plant-based protein blend that’s also gluten, dairy and soy-free. Not sure about the concerns about ingredients being organic as the protein powder tub I received was exactly as shown in the product picture and clearly states it is organic. Notes below:MIXABILITY & TEXTUREThe protein powder mixes very easily into liquid with no grittiness whatsoever. Instructions suggest you use 1 scoop with 300ml liquid (e.g. water, nut milk) however I preferred the flavour and texture with 500ml; definitely play around with the powder/water ratio if you’re not keen on the taste and texture initially as you might like it watered down. You can also try it blended with fruit if you want a thicker shake or mix it into a pot of yogurt with some fresh fruit and nuts for a nutritious snack.TASTEI got the chocolate flavour and found it was nice and chocolatey but quite bitter when mixed with water or milk. It’s the most bitter vegan protein shake I’ve tried but it’s still more palatable than the shakes that are gritty or just taste like a herbal concoction. It’s sweetened with stevia and they’ve balanced this well as it’s subtle; sweet enough without being overly sweet.NUTRITIONIngredients list and nutritional profile looks good to me; natural and minimal and it’s pretty low carb and low fat. It’s also sugar-free. I must comment though that the protein scoop provided in the tub is inaccurate; one level scoop actually holds 32g of powder whereas the nutritional info on the label gives the serving size (one scoop) as 25g; it’s a smallish difference but something you might want to be aware of if you are closely monitoring your macros.PACKAGINGI don't usually comment on the packaging of protein tubs but I really like the atypical boxy shape of the Sunwarrior tub as the flat sides means it slots neatly into the cupboard without wasting space or looking a monstrosity like the big cylindrical containers that protein usually comes in. The outer packaging label is easily removable once the tub is finished so you can use the plain white cuboid tub for other things later.SUMMARYThis is a good protein powder which blends well and has a solid nutritional profile. It’s let down by the bitterness which I found difficult to disguise. However, I baked a batch of protein brownies using the powder yesterday and these came out really well without any bitterness so I think it would work well in other recipes too where there are multiple ingredients like protein pancakes, cookies etc. Despite the bitterness, it’s still palatable enough with a decent chocolate flavour and I’d choose it over a gritty, unpleasant tasting powder any day. The protein is on the pricey end of the spectrum compared to many other vegan protein powders but there's plenty going for it from a nutritional value point of view and I might get it again, at the right price.

You'd expect a protein powder at this price to be exceptional! It does taste nice when blended with milk, albeit a bit too sweet for my liking, and does give me the energy sustainance I need. I try to avoid dairy so this protein powder works great as alternative to milk based ones.--- FlavourIt tastes quite nice when blended with ice, bananas and oat milk. It's an earthy chocolatey/cacao taste with a sweet aftertaste probably due to the stevia and goji protein. I have honestly tasted way worse chocolate products and this one is almost there, but if you don't like sweet this might not be for you.--- ConsistencyIt's quite lumpy if you're just using a spoon to mix it.It blends nicely and smoothly though if you use a blender (we use a Ninja blender).--- PackagingIt looks lovely! I love the colours, how it feels (it's very light) and how clear it is to find out information on it. It's a good shape so easy to store, and is using recycled plastic so that feels eco friendly enough for me!-- EnergyI have quite a bad diet and could feel my body feeling more sustained about half an hour after drinking this. It made me less tired on my desk bike and on my dog walks. I don't do as much intense exercise anymore but it helps sustain an active lifestyle and that's what I am using it for. It also contains a full profile of amino acids, which is great for building muscle, so I feel like I have the kick I need to get back into toning up!All in all for a plant based protein solution with so much goodness, the value is fairly good compared to others I've seen. But sweetness can be kind of offputting so this is why I haven't given it 5 stars.

Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Chocolate 750gI am quite strict on what I eat, after reading through the ingredient list I found this doesn't contain anything that goes against the way I eat. I do miss sweet foods so I welcomed the chance to give this chocolate flavoured protein powder a try. The label states that this is organic, the ingredients list also confirms that most of what's in this is organic. I do like that this contains pea protein which is my favoured protein powder as it tends not to spike your insulin levels.I mixed this with unsweetened almond milk to check it out. I did leave this mixed drink in the fridge as suggested on the label for a few hours before drinking.I found the drink to be quite creamy & smooth to drink, no nasty lumps or grit as it seemed to blend quite easily with the almond milk. The chocolate flavour was there but not quite as strong as I would have preferred. I do agree that there is a slight bitter back taste to this, I wouldn't say that as a negative, in fact I rather like the taste as I'm not into sweetness.Looking at the ingredient list I notice that this contain Stevia, which may account for the slightly bitter back taste? As I mentioned I quite like that slight bitter bite that this gives, this will also depend a lot on what you mix the powder with. I haven't tried this yet with coconut milk, but coconut may give this a little more sweetness if that's your preference.I certainly would be interested in trying out some of the other flavours too.If you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

Was surprised at how big a jar this is. Nice coloured design on packaging although it's a plastic jar wrapped in a layer of plastic that honestly doesn't fit that well and makes it look a little cheap. It also reminds me of a jar of those roses chocolates you get at Christmas. Ha ha!However don't let that fool you....It really tastes lovely and very easy to drink on Its own. Unlike similar drinks I've tried which are bitter and need to be used in a smoothie. I mixed some into a milkshake made with soya milk and as you can see it just doesn't mix that well, even when you make a paste and then mix gradually. So you are left with floating sticky bits however although this may not look appetising DON'T let that put you off as strangely I found them really nice as it tastes so good. It's sort of chocolatey and malty and so full of goodness and suitable for vegans that I think it's fab. Haven't tried other flavours so can't comment on the taste of them.Plus it's organic which is a huge bonus to me and a great and yummy way to get some extra healthy protein.Yes, It's expensive but compared to similar products it's actually reasonably priced AND tastes a lot better.I expect I will buy again.Oh, also added a spoonful into some cooked porridge ... Lovely.I'd like to give it 5 stars but had to drop a bit as it's not great at mixing in although I'd like to award this 4.5 stars really as dropping a whole star seems unfair. I'd definitely recommend this.

Back in the day, the vast majority of protein powders were made from whey, which is derived from milk. These days there's an ever increasing number of products that get their protein from plant-based sources instead, and this is an excellent example. It uses fermented pea protein, goji Berry protein and hemp protein, whilst also including MCTs (triglycerides) from coconut.Obviously there is no need to use protein supplements, as it's perfectly possible to get all the protein you need from your food - but for many it's a convenient and tasty way to get muscle gain; many gym users take protein supplements on a regular basis.I really have to say that this is the nicest tasting chocolate flavour that I've ever had in a powder (and I only mixed it with water)- there is no awful sucralose to give it that horrible artificial sweetness, and it actually tastes chocolatey. It's delicious. The packaging is recycled plastic, which adds to the vegan-friendly credentials - it's more expensive than most, but I can totally recommend it - it's worth every penny.

Okay like most protein shakes, albeit plant or animal based (whey), they all taste pretty awful if mixed with water.I mixed my first instance with water, it was gross, as expected -  I couldn't drink it all.I then used unsweetened almond milk and it was acceptable.. It does go down better with unsweetened roasted almond milk. I actually enjoy drinking this now.Mixing it is fine (I use the electric mixer). Once mixed, you'll have to keep stirring it or it settles at the bottom (just like hot chocolate for example). If you do take it with just water, you may get a lingering taste in your mouth (that's the plant based sweetener kicking in)As the day goes on after taking this.. no bloating, no gas.so no problems for me in terms of digestion. Finally it's expensive compared to whey protein, but I suppose it's a healthier option so can't argue there.Note: I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, I'm trying to cut down on animal based food, I workout and wanted a suitable protein shake without the extra cholesterol to boot from whey.

Great Vegan protein below I will give a quick straight to the point Review.I use to be a big user of Whey protein supplements so if you are buying this and expecting it to taste similar to whey please think again, Keep in mind whey is made from milk and this is made from veggies, so the texture and taste will be similar to the original version of what it is, so Whey (milkshake comparable) Pea/Brown Rice (Well try drinking it and tell me)So since we have narrowed that down you will know the Vegan protein will be quite grainy and grassy when drinking. The taste is not overpowering but gives enough in the sweetness to get away with tasting like chocolate,I would highly recommend that you add more liquid as it is quite grainy. In terms of digestion, digestion is amazing nothing at all comparable to whey, whey's digestibility is horrible, well because it is a horrible acidic product which is from the by product of cheese manufacturing. If you have any questions feel free to let me know

The opinion on this product are divided in our household. My husband who is used to standard whey protein powders claims that taste is awful and texture is not smooth.I on the other hand think that it's great, for the following reasons:- they are not as sweet as others on the market- organic and totally plant based- chocolate !- no soy, sugar (organic stevia extract instead), dairy- recyclable packaging- each scoop (25g) contains 16g of protein (30 scoops per pack)I do agree the texture is not as smooth as others but that may be due to containing coconut and hemp protein (which are not the smoothest ingredients).Overall I think this product is not for everybody. You need to decide what is moreimportant for you: immaculate texture or hight quality ingredients. For me it's the latter (the compromise on taste is not unbearable) . For healthy people, I would recommend.

Wow this protein power makes a very lush dark chocolate shake. The mixture is a little dense; however if you follow the step below it will stop the power being left at the top of your cup.Put the desired amount of scoop into your mixing cup.Use a little bit of water / milk and make and stir until the power goes into a nice paste with no lumps or powder (add more powder/ liquid if required).Once the paste is formed simply top up with more water and milk and stir and you’ll be left with a nice smooth shake.Sort of like how your meant to make a hot chocolate but cold. All round I really like the dark chocolate taste of this item, my only niggle is the plastic label around the tub.It could do with a little upgrade, maybe use a stronger plastic label as the one provided was ripped on arrival.

This has more of a plain/dark chocolate taste so it's not as sweet as what I expected but it mixes well with water or almond milk. It's not very thick like some on the market but as you only use one small scoop you wouldn't expect it to be. But the small scoop goes a long way keeping you full. After a few days I have perfected my shake- 200ml water and 200ml almond milk, 1 scoop of this, 1 tea spoon super green powder and 1 table spoon of peanut butter powder. It's delicious but you really need to make it with chilled water and milk as it tastes best cold.It will separate a but if you leave it for more than an hour or if you make it and keep it in the fridge but just shake again and you're goodto go.

I was lucky to have been sent a box of this product in return for an honest review.I am triathlete and do a lot of training in the week so it was rather convenient to try this.It comes in a nice box and is has a long list of credentials the most important being organic and vegan.I used 2 scoops dissolved in 600 cc of milk, the powder left the usual residue on the bottom of the bottle, I estimate that about 90% was dissolved properly. The flavour is smooth and can taste many things including chocolate, is it a bit odd but still pleasant. The bottle washed well afterwards.I think I will use this after a long training session but due to its price, is not something I will be using every day.

I've found vegan proteins to be somewhat grainy at times, but this Sun warrior powder blends well into smoothies without that chalky mouthfeel. Nutritionally, it's decent, though there are powders with higher concentrations of protein out there - they also probably taste worse...Taste wise it's a fairly inoffensive chocolate flavour that should go well with fruit or whatever kind of milk you choose. I've had it with water, almond milk, and oat milk and they're all palatable. The only downside is that there is quite a distinct stevia aftertaste that I don't like. I'd prefer a less sweet drink if it means fewer sweeteners.

24.1.2018

Fulfills all expectations. It is extremely tasty with Rice Milk. And the chocolate taste is yummi! There is only one thing: The stevia sweetener!I forgot to check this before buying it. More than 20% of people taste stevia differently, for them it is extremely... ehm... disgusting I can say. Especially for the first two sipps I take, I feel like spitting it out again.I think it has nothing to do with the powder, but how you taste steviol. It happens with all steviol-products I eat.It is a pity, that SUNWARRIOR is not leaving the powder unsweetened and then everyone can sweeten it up with the products they want.
