This product tastes like a mixture of finely ground sand and lucuma powder. I`m writing `sand` and not `flour`, because flour absorbs water more readily and gives the liquids it is dissolved in, a smoother texture. This protein powder however retains a floury sensation even when it is dissolved and it doesn`t taste great either. It`s straight away horrible in blueberry smoothies, for example. I`ve come up with a few recipes that make its taste quite good actually, and I`m going to share them with you here.I`ve had the best result with the following recipe:-= Papaya-Passion fruit smoothie =-Ingredients:-a tablespoonful of non-GMO lecithin granules;-2 raw organic+free range eggs (or an additionaltablespoonful of lecithin);-half an avocado;-a medium-sized ripe papaya with seeds removed;-2 passion fruits;-a cup of raw home-made kefir or plain yogurt;-2 teaspoonfuls of xyllitol;-Simply Wholesome stevia white crystals to taste (about half a teaspoonful);-2 rounded tablespoonfuls of unsalted organic dairy butter (with a sweet, creamy flavour - not like Kerrygold that tastes like margarine);-and one serving of Sunwarrior Protein Natural Powder. For a vegan version the egg and kefir/yogurt can be omitted and almond milk or almond yogurt can be used, or, better yet, a few cashew nuts and coconut kefir. I like embracing without resistance the states of consciousness that non-vegan foods help create in me.Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender such as a Vitamix or a Nutribullet, for about a minute in the latter. The other recipe that worked very well for me was the exact same as above except instead of using papaya and passion fruit I added half a cup of strawberries and half a cup of blackberries (not blueberries).Using strawberries only as the fruit part the taste will be great but the smoothie is going to have a grainy texture which makes it less appealing because psychologically we generally associate a smooth consistency with strawberry-yogurt flavoured foods.Since this powder has got a flavour similar to lucuma powder, it can be used as a lucuma substitute with a rough floury consistency.

I researched my options for vegan protein and decided that Sun Warrior was the best company. I bought the bag in March 2012 for $42 and the back says it has 47 servings so that comes out to 91 cents a serving. The thing is it only has a slight chocolate taste to it. I had to supplement this with a ton of products to make it drinkable. For one scoop I mixed it with:1 cup unsweetened almond milk1/2 TB navitas natural raw cocoa (to taste chocolate)1/2 TB navitas natural lucuma (to sweeten it but still wasn't enough)drop of liquid stevia1/4 cup blackberries or blueberries (to bring out the chocolate flavor, fresh is better than frozen)1/4 cup plain greek yogurt (to thicken it)-----------------That was the basic recipe.Sometimes I also added in1 TB Finest Natural Cold Milled Golden Flax Seed1 ts navitas natural maca root (gives a nutty, butterscotch-ish, malt-y accent)ice cubes made from coconut watera little peanut butter (makes it taste like drinking a reese peanut butter cup)navitas natural maqui - made it a purple drinkAll the add-ins do add more vitamins, minerals and up to 10 grams of protein. So if you don't mind doing all this work, it's a great product, however it's not exactly easy to just mix with only liquid and go in a shaker cup. If you email SunWarrior they will send you free samples so you can try it first. I can't say this shake fills me up on it's own. If I have a shake for breakfast, I still will have a piece of toast, and then that will last me just 2 hours.

I started lifting about 2 months ago and started taking whey protein sold at Costco. While that protein had good reviews and was a good value, it was making sick giving me headaches and what not. I decided to find an all natural alternative and vegan was the way to go. I chose Sunwarrior chocolate becuase the reviews were somewhat ok. The first first time I took it, it made me gag since I was used to taking my protein with water and ice only. It was really chalky and had a strange flavor and did not break up very well. OH well I dealt with it because I spent $42 on it. After a week I started messing around and adding diff. ingredients. Now, no matter what I add a whole tsp.of Hershey's unsweetend cocoa powder for each scoop of protein. Its still not great with water and Ice but will do when I need to take some at work. At home its a diff. story, my favorite recipe is as follows-1 scoop of powder-1 tsp of Cocoa powder-1 banana-8 oz. of Coconut or almond or regular milk.-1 cup of iceI use a blendtec blender but I'm sure a regular blender will work. It tastes like an ice cream shake.

This is the best protein powder I've ever used and I think I've tried them all. The most important thing is I feel great and seem to recover from workouts faster with this powder than the others I've tried. I've put on over 15lbs of muscle eating a vegan diet and supplementing with this vegan protein powder. I'm extremely happy.I'm not going to talk too much about how it tastes. That's something that is subjective and clearly people have different opinions. I will say that I drink a scoop of this about 30 minutes before each heavy weights session. I add it to 6 oz of water and 2 oz of organic apple juice (or organic pomegranate juice). It doesn't taste like ice cream, but it's NOT ice cream. It's an unsweetened protein powder. I don't mind the taste at all, but if you are looking for a protein powder with a flavor you'll crave, don't buy protein powder at all and definitely don't by an unsweetened, unflavored one. But if you are looking for a protein powder that speeds up recovery naturally, with no junk in it, your search is over. At least mine is.

Being a part of this fitness industry there seems to be a growing trend in marketing Whey. After a little research and knowing where Whey comes from and the process in which is made I would say in terms of health I would highly not recommend anyone to buy a by product of cheese for such a premium price which has been treated highly with acid processing.I strongly give this product a 5/5 due to the sensibility and honesty of the product as well as the usability.Keep in mind guys when buying a protein powder product especially unflavored to not just rule it down to drinking, there is many ways to use a protein powder I would highly recommend that this powder be used for cooking or even makingyour own concoctions such as using your own flavor systems. The issue I could see some people facing is the texture of the product compared to whey, this is more of a "grassy" texture and may be off putting for some but depending on why you are taking the product can be a major decision in why you are buying it.

I use protein powder in all sorts of baked products and for drinking. I definitely feel better about consuming plant based proteins as I am not big on dairy. I haven't yet found a vanilla flavoured protein powder I can drink as a shake and this one smells like butterscotch Angel Delight (90s throwback) but it does not taste like it. I think it tastes so bad as a drink that I just can't consume it like that. However, it is the only vanilla protein powder I have found that tastes really good when cooked in pancakes, muffins, for example. It's really delicious! No idea how that is possible but it tastes lovely.I am not sure it's specifically this protein powder but I use this and a differentSunwarrior chocolate protein powder after workouts or before bed (chocolate only because I can bring myself to drink it, curbs evening sugar cravings) and along with a good diet and a strong workout plan, I have seen good muscle gains and change in body composition.

Compared to the ocean of protein powders on the market today this one stands out. It's soy free, unlike most of the protein powders on the market, so if you're a man you don't have to worry about the estrogen mimickers inside of soy playing havoc with your testosterone and reproductive system. And if you're a woman who is planning on having children some day this soy free product is worth the money. Most women in America are oblivious to the fact that when they eat soy it's as though they're taking a birth control pill. What's more if a woman is pregnant it wreaks havoc on the baby's hormones making what should have been a little boy into a little girl. And if you're feeding your baby soy formula.STOP IT! If you're interested in learning all of the health risks associated with soy read AMERIKA: The Re-Mastered Christian Majority http://amzn.com/B00Q4X9346

This is an easy to mix powder in a mild chocolate flavour. Its very fine powder and when whizzed up in a blender with milk (I use Provamel rice milk drink) it blends nicely and looks appetising and frothy poured into a glass. I thought it might make a thicker, more milk-shakey sort of drink but it remains thin even when left to stand (I tried 20 minutes) but in none-the-less very drinkable and tastes good.I'm using it as a protein top-up as I've just started Hatha yoga and want to feed my muscles!I can't compare it to other protein drinks as I've never tried any but looking on the internet it seems that the sort with whey in can cause bloating - this one is free from whey (and according to the packet is vegan-friendly,gluten-free, hypo-allergenic, and GMO free) and suits my digestions which can be very sensitive. The kilo bag has 47 1 scoop servings.

Making a transition from eating everything to entering a mostly raw diet, protein is something that the body needs.I bought this protein (first protein powder I ever used) because my nutritionist advised me to do so.At first, to be quite honest, I didn't like the taste. Having said that, I had a friend (who used to consume a LOT of whey protein and the likes) taste it. He said that it was actually better tasting than other proteins. In time, I grew accustomed to the taste and the health benefits far outweigh the "trouble" of it not having a wonderful taste.I'll have to try the chocolate and vanilla. It dissolves very well, which is a plus. And I was told most proteins DON'T blend well. The best thing, though, is that my body isn't losing any muscle because I now have a decent source of protein.

Very happy with product but when I received jar could not open for anything, had to get my husband to pry it open. So this is the first vegan protein powder I have ever bought, I did so after reading many reviews and listed benefits of product. I am very happy with the results, bought the natural flavor because read others might be too sweet and really trying to avoid sweeteners in general. I add my own fruit, leafy greens, chia seeds, flax seeds to almond milk and coconut water and find it very satisfying as a meal replacement sometimes add almond butter or avocado to make it creamer. Some people dislike taste, to me if you mix it with some ice and fruit it is great and has so many health benefits, would have given product five stars if it wasn't for packing, will order again and post update.

I am a vegan who eats a mostly raw diet and exercises nearly everyday. I do intense weight training workouts, Bikram yoga, interval training, and I run. This protein powder taste so delicious and gives me so much energy! I am able to power through my workouts and then go to work as a preschool teacher (hence, need for lots of energy!). I love adding some cinnamon, banana, and a bunch of green goodies (spirlina, kale, spinach, wheetgrass). I suggest this product from this company (RawReform) to anyone whether you are a Vegan or not :) All natural, loaded with nutrition, and minus the animal products. RawReform is fantastic, the shipment is super fast and they send free samples-- who can beat that?Enjoy your enhanced health and love for protein smoothies :)

I am a mostly vegan vegetarian and I use this protein in a smoothie each morning to increase my protein consumption. Initially, I used the Sun Warrior Vanilla which very good but a tad on the sweet side. The natural flavor blends well with whatever juice or fruit I use. Getting this high quality protein in the morning seems to set my appetite for the day on "low" which makes it easier to eat well all day long. My finger nails are vastly improved since adding this protein. I have visited the company website and there are no concerns about arsenic due to the rice base of this protein. Sun Warrior Classic Protein Powder has become an important dietary staple for me.It is hands down the best tasting and smoothest blending protein powder I have found.

I'll be honest I was originally going to give this about 2 stars, but I decided to give it a chance... and I'm glad i did. I love this now!!At first I could not figure out why it tasted different from normal and didn't mix well, then I realized THIS IS THE VEGAN POWDER! It is definitely different from the other Sun Warrior Protein Blends. It took some adjusting. I was having incredible problems getting the powder to mix with water and then I stumbled upon a great trick. I put it in a Nalgene bottle with 1-2 cups of water, shake it really good, then let it sit 5-10 minutes, shake it again, then drink. Somehow this mixes the powder better and reduces the amount of froth/foam.Once I figured this out everything was great. I love this stuff now!

I was diagnosed dairy intolerant to had to cut out my beloved whey protein (sniff), and after a lot of research I decided this was the best alternative. I'm happy with it, it provides a high dose of good quality protein, and mixes really easily. It loses a star for two reasons:1) It's expensive2) As other reviewers have said, it does have a very strong Stevia taste. I'm much rather it contained this than sugar, or an artificial sweetener, but it is quite overpowering. Therefore I mix this 50/50 with Pulsin' Natural Pea Protein (unflavoured, VERY savoury alone) which gives me the perfect blend.Overall I think it's a good option for vegans and those avoiding dairy or sugar, and I plan to repurchase this, and try the chocolate flavour too.

Although this is indeed a good product, it is in my opinion overpriced as it is not Organic, and the price suggests that it should beI Love the fact it is Gluten, Dairy, Soya Free, and that it is only sweetened with Stevia :DI have used it both as a meal replacement and as a post workout shake and its good on both countsFor those who are interested in a good comparison, you can get yourself a 1 kg bag (double the amount in this tub) of Organic, GF, DF, SF, brown rice powder for around the £20 price of this, then simply throw in your own cocoa powder and Stevia liquid/powder and there you have it.After I am done with this tub, I will stick to the above method, unless there is a better offer on sunwarrior.
