The helmet has a glossy outer shell, mine is absolutely snow white.It has soft plush-fleece-like lining which is warm and nice to the skin and not too fluffy.Most importantly the liner is also covering the inside of the helmet but has a mesh on the sides and some slits on the very top so the helmet sits comfortable on my head and kept me warm but I was never too hot wearing it.It has lots of vents which are operated in two groups of front and back vents, there are two switches on the top and both have three positions for having a group open, half-open or closed.I was riding with both switches set to fully open,actually the number of vents appealed to me because I didn't want my helmet to become all sweaty and wet and I took vents as a really important point when buying my helmet.The liner is also completely removable and washable but I think the ear pads are not.The ear pads however have a zipped little compartment which goes around the back and I guess you can put some specially shaped headphones in there but I didn't bother about that.I really like the helmet's shape with a handy little shade at the front, it shades from sunlight and snow I didn't have to use my googles all the time even when it was snowing.Overall, I think this is a very good helmet.Regarding the size, I went for the 51-55cm because in other brand's S models I had a feeling they don't sit tight enough (they usually start at 53cm). It initially seemed small but turned out to be perfect when I started using it during skiing and aligned the liner better. This was actually one of the smallest helmets I could find.I have to say though it's the first helmet I have ever used and I think they got the principles right, but it all comes down to feeling comfortable in it. I've read lots of reviews of different helmets and in the end I've completed the research trying on some models available in shops.I've compared this to the Salomon Ranger and Icon models, some Bolle models and a Bern Hepburn helmet and in the end I think it's best to check in shop if you can, all of those helmets sit differently on your head and the sizing varies on each brand and also seeing it in shop allows you to inspect the lining inside and see how it feels.

Really happy with this helmet. My boyfriend and I bought matching Smith Vantage helmets and the fit is perfect. Extremely comfortable and although we're yet to try them out we were very impresssed with the styling, vent system and fit with the Smith I/o 7 goggles.
