A good bright rear light! It came with 2 brackets to fit either seatpost or chainstay/tail of frame (with 2 different thickness rubber band inserts to ensure a tight fit) was simple to set up and fit; phillips screwdriver & 5 minutes job done. Came with batteries, also easy to install, just a coin or flathead screwdriver twists open the unit then clicks back shut to reseal well and tight. 2 modes; constant or dual flashing mode. This is very bright and will catch any motorists eye, a superbright white LED flashes in the center of the light while dual red LED's flash at the sides and surround. This gives very good allround visibility. Not sure if I can say 360 degrees but very good from the side aswel as straight on from rear.Switch is soft press button on base of the light. You can alter the angle of the light once fitted, up or down depending on where you fit it I suppose. Can't validate the "visible from a mile" claim, but in ideal conditions don't see why this would not be possible. I'm just glad motorists can very clearly see I am there on the road infront of them! Overall a good value effective rear light that is easy to fit, quick to release & pop in your pocket. As with just about all rear lights, set your preferred "mode" before setting off as its a little tricky changing on the go! Quick delivery, Recommend.

i saw this demonstrated on [...]. Impressive. This is the same thing:[...]The version in UK shops has been made UK compliant and flashes all three leds at once to comply with some stupid civil servant's idea that everything should flash at the same rate as car indicators. It's also over £20. I paid [...] delivered from Amazon. Make sure you get the one that alternates and strobes. Very distinctive pattern. Very bright. Not had it long enough to comment on battery life or longevity. Not likely to last long on continuous given the output, but I only ever flash. If you're worried about the legalities, as long as you run any sort of UK compliant light on your bike, like those really dim jobs, you can run anything else. And you can put whatever you like on your person or rucksack. With so many lunatics out there with no lights at all, I can't imagine the pigs will pull you over for not being UK compliant. I doubt they even know about it. Only complaint, don't try to open it twisting a coin. Chews up the plastic. Flat screwdriver 1/4" blade, and lever. Great little light, at a fair price. Buy one.

Like other reviewers have said, this is extremely bright. I use it on flashing and it lasts a good while (haven't tested the claimed number of hours). It's mounted onto the seat post and nothing has broken after lots of taking off and putting it back on. The rubber seal hasn't leaked. It's easy to open with a 2p coin. All really good so far.But the switch is the only real problem. It's very sensitive, really cold weather affects the plastic so it's harder to use, it can become switched on in a bag/pocket and the worst is it can switch off while riding on roads, which has happened a handful of times. So I had to peak down between my legs while coasting to see if it's still on!My solution was to locate the flexible part of the outer case that touches the switch and scratch the INSIDE with the tip of a pair of scissors and gradually wear it down. Check occasionally until it becomes more flexible, meaning it's not so close to the switch and doesn't switch on/off so easily. I haven't had any problems since. Just be careful you check regularly so you don't scratch too much off!

As other reviewers have said, this light is really brilliantly bright and bikes that have it really do stand out. In addition to being really bright, you can set the flashing to an irregular pattern. This may not sound like a particularly important feature, but irregular light patterns attract peoples' attention a lot more than the standard interval on/off flashing pattern. All in all it makes for an excellent product for this price. The only problem is durability. I've had mine for around 8 months and it occasionally stops working during a wet cycle ride. However, as it is such a simple device you can simply dry it out and it will work again. The power of the battery isn't high enough to mangle the electrics permanently even if it gets wet.A bigger downside is that the fitting on the light which slots into the holder (attached to the bike frame) snapped recently when I removing the light and it is now unusable. So, in summary, if you buy one then you can expect a great light, but just be aware you might have to buy a new one every year. I've just bought my second one!

There's a lot of rear lights around but most will leak when it starts raining. This one won't as it's got a rubber seal. Amazingly you can spend £30 on a fabulous Cateye light (Like I did three times) and it won't have a rubber seal - and will last about a month before being completely destroyed by water. Seems unbelievable, but this one is far better. It's very very bright as well thanks to probably the biggest LED i've seen on one of these lights and very light. One thing I would change is the bike attatchment - mine fell off and shattered into it's component parts when I hit a pothole, after that I (reassembled and) wedged it on with a slip of cardboard and my problems were over - maybe it could do with being slightly more rugged though as well, but then all these lights could - Cateyes whatever - they will always smash into bits when they fall on the roadway. The other thing I'd change is I'd make it a bit bigger. it's perfectly large already, but why not? Or maybe just get two - they're quite cheap aren't they. Definately get this one though.

Having had a few near misses late at night with so called "super bright" rear lights failing in the rain, I decided to give this a try as it has a rubber seal! My first impression was how small it was, but how wrong can you be? Turned it on and made the mistake of looking into it....ok it took a few minutes to lose the spots before my eyes but soon realised that I would not want to be following one of these! That was made apparent by my first venture out into the night when I noticed that cars were giving me quite a wide berth, and no, my riding is not that bad, but I think that there is now no excuse for not seeing the back of me!I noticed from other reviews that the fixing clip was prone to releasing the light too easily but I found a quick fix of wrapping an elastic band around the clip and it seems to be working fine on and off road.

Firstly the pros:1. Very bright light, road users will have no trouble whatsoever in seeing you. Two modes either flashing or continuous illumination.2. Lightweight and easily attached to either the seat post or bike frame. Also an option to clip onto rucksack or jacket.3. Great value - just over a tenner for a seriously bright light.4. Takes just 2 AAA batteries (included)Just one con being that the light itself is not completely waterproof. Granted I didn't have a mudguard attached at the time but on the end of a 5 mile journey in light rain it stopped working due to water ingress. After opening the light and allowing it to dry out it is now working properly again but if this had been a longer journey in heavier rain there might be more serious issues. However I must remember to attach my mudguard next time!

I was a bit concerned about this because some of the poor reviews mentioned the unit coming apart when the bike went over a bump or turning on by accident. Both these issues appear to have been fixed however. The casing fits together tightly and there is no indication that it will separate unless usual force is used to change the batteries. The switch if anything is now the other way and the light was difficult to turn on. This however was easily fixed by sticking small pieces of insulating tape on the inside of the casing under the switch till the gap was right for easy operation. The light itself is bright enough for the mixed town and rural cycling that I do and in flashing mode the high intensity bulb also flashes (not something that always happens with multi mode rear lights. So far very pleased.

The only problem I have with this cycle light is the switch. It is quite difficult to actuate due to its weatherproof design. The micro-switch is positioned on the underside of the unit and inside the black plastic casing. As such there is no external switch and you have to distort the plastic cover slightly to activate the switch. This is very good for keeping the weather out but not so good for switching on/off. If you do not have strong fingers you might struggle. you also have to press in exactly the right place. I have found myself on a number of occasions pressing in vein because I failed to have my finger positioned exactly over the micro-switch.

I have long been a fan of Smart lights, and I am very pleased with this one. "Superflash" by name, and superflash by nature. This light really grabs peoples attention, and promotes your safety by making your presence known to other road users.I have used the light daily, riding to and from work, and have had no reliability problems with it. The switch works well, and does not operate by itself. There has been no water ingress, and the light has remained firmly attached to the bike. In fact that is another feature I like about Smart lights, the mounting bracket is a good solid affair, secured by a nut and bolt, solid.Be seen at night, "Superflash"

This light is just brilliant value for money. It's deceptively small using just two AAA batteries but outputs a dazzlingly bright light. It's so bright that you won't want to look directly at it - perfect for drawing the attention of other road users. The light comes with two attachments and it's easily attached to the seat post or stays. It has two modes - constant and flashing - and it's all UK compliant.Various information from the box:1500m and 220deg visibility40 hours run timeGrade A circuitsTested to -40 deg (hope I don't cycle in weather like that!)Waterproof and salt testedVery highly recommended.

The Smart Superflash actually looks a lot bigger in the picture than when you hold it. Not that it's size is an issue, it is a great feature as it means I can carry it anywhere just in case I get caught out in the dark with my bike. There is two modes, pulsing reds (strobe & led's) and static (bright red). The light securely clips onto the mount provided and means you don't have to leave the light on your bike. If you want to see just how bright the light is have a look at some videos online from happy customers. I am too very happy with this light and can't imagine why I used the poor light I previously used.

A rear light for my bike which is as bright as you could want and I am about to buy another for my second bike. The battery life seems good as have it running for close to 10 hours in flash mode on the same batteries. It is very bright, firstly I like it because I can turn it on (fixed to seat post) and when looking at the back of the light, you can see clearly if it is on or not. Secondly, you can see the red light reflected off sign posts behind you or use it as red torch. Use this and you should almost feel sorry for the driver behind you, bit like the annoying person who has left their fog lights on...

From reading the reviews some haven't got the special pulse mode, I can confirm mine is , I was expecting the modified version that doesn't have it. What can I say it's bright, I looked into it like a wally and nearly went blind. Just when for a night ride to try it out, damm you can see it from a mile off!, drivers give you a nice wide berth, and at traffic lights car's come to a standstill a good 12 feet behind you!. End of the day better to be seen then dead!. Does what it says on the tin...now wheres those 1w lights... lol

This is a really good rear light, its served me very well..Pro's:- Its very very bright.- It can be seen from very far away.- even rechargeable batteries last a very long time with this.- looks cool.Con's:- Its NOT water resistant or splash proof. It has filled up with water and shorted out its circuit a few times when I've been caught in the rain. I have to rub a bit of Vaseline around leaky areas when I replace the batteries.- The mount could do with being improved. But that a side, its pretty damn good...
