I wanted a lamp with the option of higher lumens for night hiking, and this one is perfect. Not only is it simple to operate - no ridiculous combination of long and short clicks to get the light you want - but it‘s crazy comfortable, with extra thick padding where the headlamp rests against your forehead. It also has a locking feature so the lamp won’t accidentally turn on in your backpack and drain the battery.On most headlamps there’s a single strap that goes around your head, and you have to constantly adjust it so it’s comfortable and pointing the right way while you’re moving. This headlamp has a strap that splits in the back, with one quick adjustment to fit it to your head.

I must admit to liking Petzl product, but there are lots of reasons why I do. This Swift RL replaces a Petzl Tikka R4 headlamp, that has given nightly service for the last six plus years. I live off grid and at elevation, so reliability and functionality are everything. The RL has some good features, like a lock to ensure it won’t accidentally come on when carried. A five bar battery state indicator, and incredible main beam output of a quoted 900 lumens (my Tikka is 170). The on / off button toggles intuitively through the three reactive brightness levels, and a press and hold steps to the higher, non reactive settings.No fancy coloured lights or strobes,

I bought this for my wife, who has to go out in the dark every night to check and feed her horses. There are a lot of wildlife critters roaming around our property at night, so I wanted her to have a really good headlamp. Petzl is the best. She had purchased a less expensive brand, and it works well, I have it now, but it's not comfortable if you're wearing it a long time. Not as bright as the Petzl either. Keep in mind that this is not a headlamp for up close hand work, it's too bright for that, even on the low setting. ( I mean for working up close on a car, or a furnace, with your hands right in front of your face) This is for seeing a long way around you at night.Costs a bit more,

Three adjustable levels of brightness, the brightest being very very bright. Excellent product. As others have pointed out, the button you press to adjust the brightness and turn it on and off is not the most comfortable or easy to press. But I have gotten used to it. This was meant to be a runners head lamp, so you would turn it on and leave it on for your morning or evening run. I use it more like a flashlight to take our dog out in the early morning and night. I do not find the automatic, reactive light feature to be useful, so for me it is just three short presses on the button, followed by a slightly longer press to get to the maximum brightness I always use.

We bought this to use on dark mornings whilst taking our horse down to grazing. On brightest setting it lights up almost 100 yards in front of you, very impressive. The adaptive light function works as it should, as you walk into a brighter area, it dims to account for this. Charge time from flat was about 2 hours but it lasted all week on a charge and was used for about half an hour each morning. Build quality is excellent and has a handy charge level indicator on the unit. This was an upgrade for us, over an older Petzl light that lasted years, I would buy this again for sure.

I own several head torches that I use for different things. This is the third Petzl after a Nao and an Aktik Core. Despite having several to choose from, I really like this Swift RL. It’s bright, light and the battery lasts well. The reactive feature works well too - better than on the Nao in fact.The only thing that would make it perfect for me would be the addition of red LED like the Aktik for when I’m working at night up close and don’t want to ruin my night vision.The strap holds comfortably and securely too, whether I’m running or hiking and it’s very light as well.

The illumination is brilliant. I typically run pre-dawn on wooded trails, and this light was entirely suitable for that purpose. The light is lightweight enough to not be burdensome, and the strap is comfortable, either over a hat or on bare skin (I don't have hair). The battery life is sufficient, although I only wish the light used alkaline batteries for those times when (if) I forget to charge the battery. Well worth the price.

Much better than I thought it would be! I bought this to go trail running through fields & woods in the local area at night. More than enough brightness for this. Most of the time I only need to use the middle, variable brightness setting. The strap is quick & easy to adjust, and the torch is light and comfortable to wear. It stays put! The only (very minor) gripe I have is the length of the charging cable, which is very short.

Puts out lots of light and the react feature works well.As for waterproofness, I own two of these now because my first one accidentally sat in a bag of water for two days. After drying out the lamp it wouldn’t turn on. It was totally my fault. So when I got the new one in I swapped the batteries just to check and the flooded lamp works perfectly. So the battery is the only thing damaged after sitting in water for over 48hr.

Comfortable to wear, lightweight and powerful front. I like that it can be recharged with USB, the reflective details and the forehead pad. Having two headbands does not slip and I do not need to adjust it as much. I have been using a 350 lumen model from my partner to run up the mountain, he recommended me to buy a more powerful one because he says that it has fallen short. Indeed, there is a big difference.

This headlamp is good for biking, running, hiking, and auto work. It's not great for camping. The lowest setting is blinding in a tent at night and you have to click through all the brightness settings to turn it off.Battery life is okay, but because there are only 3 brightness settings, when out mountain biking, you have to use the brightest one, but then only get an hour or so of burn time.

I am starting back to running as part of my fitness program. I am just doing the c25k app again. I was sick of not being able to see at this time of the year, despite the LED street lights. This torch is comfortable, easy to use, very powerful and adjusted easily from the dusk to dark conditions today. It's is my first run in the torch. If things change in my opinion, I will add to the review.

Lamp is about 100g, small and burn is amazing, specially 900 lumens with reactive lightning. Running in woods at night or trail running? No problem any more. No bouncing, very good adjustable and comfortable. Battery is pretty good too, if you're not using max burn all the time. What I miss is red light, but hey, you can't have it all for that price ;) Fast delivery and really good price.

As all of my Petzl headlamps, another great one made. Very comfortable, good looking, and bright by all means. The only thing I thought could be longer was the charging cord. 11 inches isn't very long to plug your light in for charging. Other then that . It's another great headlamp made by Petzl. I wouldn't by another brand . Knowing I'm getting a good one mo matter which style it is.

WOW, best headlamp ever!! It’s not cheap but I promise it’s worth your dollars! We have had several in the past that have helped do the job, several being the key word. They have never lasted. This headlamp Is amazing and quality and I suspect will last us well past the time all the others did together, therefore saving us money and getting the best product, I believe, on the market.
