I am writing this as a testament that the slime product that in installed in the inner tube is actually working or doing something. I bought these tubes last Oct 2016, installed them early Nov. 2016 and rode on them up to around mid Dec 2016. That's when the weather out here started to get bad enough to make my evening rides hazardous. So that's when I winterized my bike and put it up for the winter season, with tire pressure checked at 60psi (my tires recommended pressures are 45-65 psi). Before using the slime inner tubes I like most would see a air pressure loss of about maybe 10psi per month, this is considered normal. It has to do with molecular science and the size of the air molecules getting thru the molecules of the rubber used in the tubes /tires. Same thing you see when a helium filled balloon looses its helium after 3 to 5 days and no longer floats, tiny tiny molecules. Same thing with your car tires by the way.So today I got the bike out, cleaned and dusted it off to start my spring riding season. To my surprise just doing a tire squeeze test I expected the tires to be squishy or soft due to air loss. They were very firm, firm enough to ride on. Broke out the tire pressure gauge and they both registered 50psi, wow. That is only a 10psi loss which should of been more like a 30psi loss or more going from the time in storage. I think the slime helped in keeping the air from slowly leaking out which is for me a nice surprise.I am not commenting on the product ability to seal small punctures, I have new tires, rim tape, and wheels so if I do get a puncture it should be from something I picked up on the road. If that happens I will update this comment if the slime fails to seal. If it does seal I expect you would not hear anything from me because how would I know if I had a leak? (heck, that could of happened now for all I know) I am deployed on Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, I ride in the evenings after work for about 1 to 2 hours for exercise. I ride mostly on paved blacktop roads with a little gravel roads from time to time. I have a 21speed mountain bike that was commonly sold out here in the PX (cheap bike now with expensive parts). I do not do much if any actual trail or mountain riding and don't expect to out here. Schrader valves, 26" x 1.75 - 2.125" tube size, P/N: 30045 March 27th, 2017 - DMA.

I would have given this 5 stars, but I have yet to run anything over and put it in its secondary intended use. But my last tube was a regular bike tube that I added Slime to myself by unscrewing the valve. I ran over a sheetrock screw and the Slime sealed the hole as advertised and I easily could have pedaled the 1.5 miles to get home, but instead had someone come pick me up. I did not work on the bike until later that day and the tire was still firm enough to be ridden. Some of the NEGATIVE reviews for this tube and so erroneous that I can't figure it out. The major complaints seem to be that the tube is "too heavy" and "the valve gets clogged if you try to let air out". As for the too heavy,I don't really see this as the case. I use this on my mountain bike that has 26 x 1.95 tires. They are huge and I don't see this tube adding any noticeable weight. But realistically, the heavier the weight on the outside of the tire, the more it acts like a flywheel once you get it moving. This would result in making it EASIER to pedal once you are moving. But if you can even notice that you are adding 4 ounces to your wheel, if that, then you are just too finicky to be riding a bicycle, IMHO.As for the "clogged valves", it clearly states right on the box to put the valve in the 10 - 2 o'clock position when inflating or deflating so the slime goes AWAY from the valve. I pumped my tire up full and then let it down and then back up again so it would seat properly. I had no problems at all. Plus, the valve stem cover has special tool built right into it so you can unscrew the valve itself if it does get jammed, clean it, and then put it back in. Overall, if this is your reasoning for giving the product 1 star, then maybe riding a bicycle is just too complicated for you!The difference between this and a regular tube is only like $2. I think its money well spent to possibly give you the chance to make it home or to get to where you can get a phone signal to call for a ride.

I ride 100 miles per week. On standard Bell-ish tubes, I was getting AT LEAST one flat rear tire per month. When I got three flats in three weeks, I decided to switch to these tubes.I have not had a flat since - in more than a year - until recently. The recent flat I had was caused because I had completely worn through my rear tire, opening several holes - one about 1/4", exposing the tube directly to the road. Eventually the road wore a hole in the exposed tube. This is a difficult hole to seal, because the rubber around the hole has been thinned out. But this tube sealed the hole. It sputtered for a bit, and lost a little air, but it sealed the hole and I was able to complete the final three miles without incident. This event happened at night, in the dark. My wife was elsewhere and could not get to me for at least two hours. I carry repair gear, but would not want to work on the bike on the roadside at night (especially for a rear tire). I am really grateful for this tube. When I removed my tire, I found it was paper-thin (okay, yeah, I should have noticed before, but I ride my bike pretty hard and don't take much care of it). Yet, despite the thinness of the tire, my tube had no punctures. It was only when I completely wore a hole in the outer tire that the tube finally failed. After a year+ of flat-free riding, and a successful seal on a difficult hole caused by the failure of the outer tire, I will never ride with any other tube.

They don't weigh a ton, the stuff is already inside them so I don't have to worry about it, and unlike the old fashioned pink stuff Slime really works!I buy these exclusively now for all my bikes.Something of note about this particular tube purchase:I ordered this set of Slime inner tubes off of Amazon before I even bought my daughter her bicycle for Christmas. After getting the bike home I realized the tires are bigger than I usually would expect. The tubes are advertised as 20" x 1.75-2.125". Her tires are 20x2.35". I was worried about the fit.I bought a pair of Mr. Tuffy liners, those removed at least a .1 from the equation, maybe a 1.5 (or more?) so the tube was expected to be a about 20x2.225 - 20x2.275 ish.I figured they could stretch the extra amount more. They did. With the combination of some green Mr. Tuffy liners, these tubes 20x2.35" seems to be a great fit, no leaking so far and I have it pumped to 65PSI, the max the tires recommends, to make it easier for her to keep up when we're out biking, and all is well, no lumps around reinforced areas. I can't recommend everyone try to duplicate my success, this is beyond manufacturers rating, but it worked for me. If you try it just remember, lower the pressure a little if you weigh more to be on the safe side.

Once fitted, they're going to save you many stops to make repairs. There are a couple of downfalls with these but if there wasn't, they'd be fitted to every bike. Firstly, if weight is a concern then you'll notice these are considerably heavier than a standard tube, but that's hardly noticeable for the pleasure rider. Next is the problems inflating them. I would personally suggest having the valve at the top so the slime is at the bottom of the tube. Remember, this stuff is designed to seal when it finds an escape, so you'll probably get into difficulty when trying to deflate the tube at a later date. I'd recommend these for the weekendpleasure cyclist who's not confident with roadside puncture repairs, for children's bikes and anyone who constantly gets punctures. Personally I'm very experienced with bikes and for me a basic repair kit is ample. That said, a repair kit and pump will equal the additional weight of one of these tubes so I really think it's down to personal preference. All the same, these tubes come in a professional looking retail box and the tubes are in an internal sealed plastic bag. A good product if it's right for you.

Over the years I have been frustrated beyond belief over the number of punctures I have had, not to mention the hours spent trying to locate and fix the problem. This product, an inner tube with a self-sealing Slime concoction that seals punctures as they happen, is therefore invaluable for cyclists who do not possess Kevlar tyres. I must confess I have not had a puncture to confirm the worth, or not, of the said inner tube but the very idea of such a tube appeals to me. I remember an old episode of Blake’s 7 whereby the pierced linings of a prison ship were filled by some kind of self-sealing foam that enabled the ship to continue flying. In my naïve mind I imagine this to do much the same for the humble cyclist. If nothing more, the Slime might enable the cyclist to complete their journey before taking on the arduous task of puncture repair – a very handy gadget indeed and one not be sniffed at. Just make sure you get the correct size before ordering as not all inner tubes are the same.

I tried the liquid years ago when it was the only thing available (or perhaps the store just sold that, I don't know), anyway long story short I found it impossible to get into the tube through a schrader valve. I mean, it's not entirely surprising is it, the valve is for air. I think it ruined the tyre. These tyres come ready done though so you literally don't have to worry about it.The slime works fine for most smaller punctures, you know, the ones you wouldn't notice visually. It doesn't work miracles though, so it's not a reason to cycle into kerbs or over spikes.I think if you combine it with kevlar lined tyres you're probably going to see nearly zero punctures, even if you cycle routinely over bramble! It comes as a normal inner tube, in the branded box, but otherwise fitting is the same as any normal inner tube.No issues. Now to see if I get any less punctures!(that said, I don't get many anyway because I have the kevlar lined tyres)

I purchased a bicycle shortly after I arrived to my duty location while I'm deployed to Afghanistan. I'm on a very large base and figured it would be a good idea to get a crappy, cheap bike from the Post Exchange so that I have my own transportation. Well, you get what you pay for and two days after I got the bike, I ended up with a flat tire. Of course the PX does not sell patch kits or replacement tubes. (Strangely enough, they sell tons of women's U.S. Size 6 flip-flops. But I digress) So, I went to Amazon and purchased this tube. I got it rather quickly considering I ordered it during the government shut-down and shipping to an APO. So far, after several days of riding, it has held up extremely well. The terrain that I ride on varies between flat, paved surfaces, soft dusty sand, jagged rocks, and loose gravel. There is debris everywhere so who knows what I may be riding over. So far, no flat. So, this tube gets a big thumbs-up from me.

I do a lot of biking. I don't use a car so it is my main source of transportation. That being said, when I need to fix a flat I reach for these. Regular inner tubes last me maybe 3 months, tops. These last me 6 months or more on average. The only downside to these is if you deflate and inflate your tires often like me, the valve can get clogged up. This happened once because I would deflate with the valve at 6 o' clock. I had to pop it but lets consider it lasted me well over 6 months and I must have deflated and inflated hundreds of times. I switch between dirt and street tires often. These will not protect against huge gashes or punctures, which has also happened to me,but they will protect against the small punctures found commonly on the roads such as glass, rocks, thorns, etc. Sure, these tubes are a bit heavier than standard tubes, but I think its worth the extra weight, for the added security. These are awesome, hands down.

I've used Slime in the past, using a bottle I bought separately to protect a standard inner tube. It got me home on a very wet and cold day when a 6-mile walk with a crippled bike would have been miserable. The idea of an inner tube preloaded with Slime is very attractive and this sample has been used to replace a standard 2-year old tube on my front wheel. There are some extra things to remember when using slime - you must move the valve to the top of the wheel when pumping air in, otherwise the Slime could clog the valve. It's easy to clean the valve if this happens, but it's an annoying chore as the tyre has to be deflated and the valve unscrewed and washed before refitting. It's a good product, not too expensive and could save you a very annoying and dirty bout of tyre fixing by the roadside.

I have been using slime self healing tubes for some years prior to being asked to review this product. In two years I did not get any punctures on my mountain bike tyres.Take note after two years the slime will need replacing which you can do with refilling the tubes with slime if you have a schrader vale or removeable presta valve. Check with your manufacturer on the presta valves to see if they can be removed. The last time I fitted a slime tube I pinched a hole in it when fitting and the tube let the air out. So I put the bike on a maintenance stand inflated the tube than span the wheel for a couple of minutes. This allowed the slime to coat the pinch I had made and it then became airtight again.Highly recommmended.

This tube lasted a week before my teenager caught the edge of a pothole and had a pinch flat. I think the goo inside would slow or stop a pinhole leak or that natural leakage that some/most bike tubes have. It won't stop a leak the size of a toothpick. I'll clean it up and patch it, and hang it on my tires and tubes shelf for another use.I will say the rim cleanup was easy. Not alot of goo, just a bit of green doughy bits and tiny bit of green liquid. Just wiped it up with a rag. Would buy these tubes again. No worse than any other I've used, just unfortunate that a pothole punctured it so soon after installation. Fortunately I had a slime tube from the pair I bought on standby.

Slime Self Healing Tube –The tube. This is a bike inner tube with a fill of Slim to heal small punctures.Using.It fits just like another tube. I have used many of these before with some success. For small clean punters like a nail this will hold the air back until you can fix it. For cut type punctures it cannot stop these but nothing will.I do like them as they have saved a strip down and repair until I could get home on several occasions.Overall.Can help stop a small puncture but not bigger ones or tears. On balance having used Slime in my bikes and motorbikes for years it does help with small clean punctures like nails. Worth a go if you get a lot of punctures.

I'm not sure how this company remains in business with the quality of product they put out for those of us who put around on our bikes and trikes. I have used their tubes for years and only need to replace them about once every two or three years because of their durability and strength. I love their tubes and won't put anyone else's into my trike's tires. I ride my bike across states for vacation hobby and the roads out in the sticks are not the best well kept roads many states have to offer, so it is important to have the best tubes available for the trek. I've found these to be those tubes. Looking for a great tube, then look no further.

I been using slime since it first arrived on the market, it can be a bit hit and miss, it can stop those annoying little pin hole punctures from ruining your ride but get a pinch flat or any large penetration and it's not enough to stop the tyre going down, it does say that on the manufacturers info, slime is just a precaution and should not be relied on, you can still get a flat so always carry a repair kit, in the past I have removed a slim filled tube to find that the green goo is leaking out where a thorn had maybe penetrated the tyre so I know it does work, you pay a little more but you get a decent tube with some puncture protection.
