This is a very light and compact 'scope which can fit in a shirt pocket, and comes with a cleaning cloth, wrist cord and carrying case with belt loop. It will focus down to about half a metre which could be useful on occasion - as a low vision aid perhaps. The optical quality is pretty good for the price - I think it unlikely that Silva would have put their name to rubbish. If you do want something significantly better then you are probably going to have to pay a good deal more. There are a few negatives: There is no rubber eye cup, so you need to be a little careful when holding it to your eye, unless you are wearing specs. The twist action focusing movement has a relatively small amount of travel considering the wide focusing range it has to cover. This means that accurate focusing requires some care and precision, not helped by a slight 'lumpiness' in the movement on my sample. For these reasons I give it 4 stars rather than 5, but overall I'm very happy with it. In summary...PROS:Light & compactGood optical qualityClose focusing abilityCONS:No rubber eye cupVery sensitive focusing

This scope is fantastic.I like it so much, that when I lost my first one, after only owning it for a fortnight, I immediately ordered a replacement. The image is so clear, far better than I was expecting for the price. It's very small and light, and fits easily in the hip belt pocket on my rucksack - just remember to zip the pocket closed after you've used it, because it's impossible to find if it falls into the undergrowth. It's identical to the Brunton branded one, which handily comes in bright orange. If it hadn't been so much more expensive, I would have bought that one since it'd be easier to find.I've jury rigged it to the lanyard on my compass this time so it's less likely to go astray

A good starter monoscope. Supplied with a lanyard and protective case. Mine sits permanently in a breast pocket. Optics are good. A bit distorted round the edges with color fringing but I didn't notice until I looked for them. Magnification really kicks in over long distances. Otherwise you are better using the naked eye. Very useful for identifying paths whilst hiking, motor sports and checking bus numbers at a distance. Lens elements are recessed enough to avoid scratches. Body is smooth and round. Focusing is necessary but can be done with the same as you hold the scope with for the most part. 5 stars given the price paid.

It's very small, light and handy for getting a somewhat closer look at things, which is all good. The downside is that the focusing seems to be very finely tuned, so it takes a little time and a lot of precision to get it right.Given the size, weight and price, I'd say this is a good and useful buy for a quick closer view, but it's certainly not binocular standard. But then, you can hardly expect that at this price.

awesome for hiking and navigation, very light and small so not really any extra weight.the build quality is perfect, as a hiker and survivalist i highly recommend this monocular.it comes with a very good quality nylon pouch and a lanyard.exactly what i have been looking for to cut down my carry weight, its greatand the magnification is good enough for such a small compact monocular and the quality is great

I wanted a spotting scope for use on the hills for checking out interesting features in the distance or assisting with route finding. This scope is small and light. I will carry it all the time, unlike my compact binos that are always thrown out to save weight.Given the size, weight, quality, performance and price. 5 Stars. I think it does the job it is intended to do well

Great little thing. Doesn't provide huge magnification, not always easy to focus just right, and I have to hold it slightly away from my eye (no eye-sheath-whatsit). But generally does well, gives a nice clear view and is nice to use. I'm about to take it trekking in the mountains as a weighs-almost-nothing accessory.

Very handy gadget to keep in the car, to capture that sudden view of the countryside or to follow a sport from a distance. Not as visually good as binoculars perhaps but good quality nonetheless. A good monocular. Pity I don't need another one because I wold buy this model again if needed.

A good compact and well built scope which is ideal for use when navigating in unfamiliar country, e.g. checking distant landmarks. The field of vision is quite narrow hence very distant objects can be difficult hold in view. However, the focusing is good and the lenses give a crisp view.

I cannot see much difference between this and some priced at £100. It is light, provides a crisp sharp image and is not bad in low light conditions. It is no heavier than a Silva Compass and together they provide great reassurance for those in the hills or out on the marsh.

Small, light and compact. I have had no problems focusing this as some reviewers seem to have. Feels very well made. Comes with case, lanyard and cleaning cloth. If it lasts I will be happy with purchase, if not I will update.

Powerfull and nice field of view for its size. its only as long as my index finger and almost no weight, fits great in coat pocket. Focusing is very easy and quickly goes from a few feet to several miles.

This is a handy little thing to carry about with you. It is so light, so no bother. Ideal for country walks etc. Obviously it's not extra powerful, but enough for looking at insects , etc

Small enough to lose in your pocket with good sharp image. Useful indoors sightseeing in cathedrals etc. I've bought Praktica and Barska to use hiking but this little gem beats them.

Very useful little optic this, very smooth focus and image brightness is not bad at all for this price, small eneough to keep for walks or to have around for quick zoom in.
