XT is probably the best value for money MTB groupset. It’s durable with often a pleasant finish to each XT component. I’m personally happy that Shimano have not gone down the coloured anodised route in finishing their groupset ranges so if you like a more sober less in your face finish then Shimano is a good choice. The actual working of the hub is very sound and smooth to run and with proper maintainence (yearly on average) these hubs in particular will last a very long time. They are not a loud hub either but rather with a soft ticking which again is a subjective appreciation but I would not like to ride all day with the sound of a giant flying crawly thing in my ears like the sound of some
