I wasnt expecting much for the money but was pleasantly surprised. Have managed to install with my old derailleur, although it's a little tight so have ordered a better one (gone from 42T to 48T).No idea why silver is much cheaper than black, however it makes no difference when you're riding along. Silver stands out better on a black bike anyway.Makes a difference riding along with 6 extra teeth...more chance to use the rear cassette as I often felt like the bike needed a little more when on the flat / down hill.No idea if the chain guard will last long (flimsy plastic) however it's easily removed with 4 screws.

Excellent crankset! FC-ty501 apparently comes in two sizes: 42 or 48 teeth on the large sprocket - this one is 48. The gears shift much better with this one compared to the old and worn. The main reason for replacing the crankset was the pedal thread, which I stripped off when replacing a noisy pedal. The new crankset in silver looks pretty on the brushed aluminium old Claud Buttler MTB with 26'' wheels and shock absorbing 2.25'' Michelin Wild Race'r tyres. I also installed a new KMC X8 chain instead the old KMC Z7. Just came back from a 40 miles test ride - yes, the replacement was worth the money.

great replacement chainset since the original chainset on my Carrera vengeance.what I would suggest is make sure you have a chainset extractor tool if you're changing it on tour own, I'm a novice biker and found out the hard way, I took it to a repair shop and swapped it in 5mins.Had the chainset on for 2 days now and works perfect!

Impressed with the quality, considering the price. Would have preferred a black version but there is no option for it so I just took this silver one. I upgrades from a 38t to this 42t for my ebike so my top end speed is few mph higher than was before. Great product!

Decent quality, not particularly heavy and well made. I needed to replace a damaged chainring on an older cheap MTB, so the price was right and it actually made a nice little upgrade in quality. Bike looks better at any rate.

This was a great replacement for the original Shimano chainset on my faithful old hybrid/road bike. Unlike the original, it has a chain guard as standard which looks much nicer than the aftermarket one I had on the original.

Very simple to replace my chainset that had become loose and slightly rounded the square hole so that it kept working loose. Appropriate quality and price for my old bike that rarely goes more than 10 miles.

Bought to up grade my existing 24/34/42 crank to a bigger 28/38/48 crank. Found out that i had to change the front derailleur as my existing one was not compatible with use on this larger 48 tooth ring.

I use these all the time on my bike and with all the cycling that I do I always keep a spare. They have great longevity and always works first time. Will use seller again and arrived in good time.

These are fitted to Halfords Carrera Crossfire bikes and suitable ratios for all other hybrids. A great entry level front crankarm set for general riding, tested good quality

Felt down a couple of times and it is still stable and works properly! I have waited quiet some time to be able to make a proper review, base on KM rided.

The catenary and the number of teeth fit exactly as a replacement for the 200GS series crank from Shimano. However, no ellipse, which does not bother me.

Looks nice, is inexpensive and still well made. If you don't mind fully riveted chainrings, you have a simple yet good product at a great price!

And upgrade for my mountain bike, giving me higher gearing. For the money, it could only be better if it magically made hills less steep.
