Considering you can overhaul your road bike to a full Shimano groupset for less than £300, Tiagra is a sound investment. Although classed as 'entry-level', Shimano Tiagra provides great function, feel, looks and value for money.I upgraded my Trek 1.2 aluminium road bike from a mix of FSA, non-branded and Shimano 105/Ultegra components to a full Shimano Tiagra groupset, and it felt like a new bike. In fact, it's never been better! Paired with Tiagra shifters and derailleur, this Tiagra crankset is sleek, study and smooth straight out of the box. The crankset, whilst not being as lightweight as a 105, Ultegra or Dura-Ace cranksets, looks great - and work just as well. I think this is where the difference lies.

Good replacement for the FC-R600 for which no chainrings are available, if the black-gray color does not bother. Switching behavior very good, stiffness slightly worse than the FC-R600
