I ride a Boardman Hybrid which I love, but the saddle which came with the bike leaves a lot to be desired in the cushioning department, and a ride on any surface rougher than your standard road usually has me walking like I’ve got a bad case of the Duke of Argyles for a couple of days afterwards. After crushing my nads on yet another pothole I decided to invest in a new saddle, and after a bit of research I found myself purchasing the Selle SMP Trk.I did my first test ride this morning (12 miles) and the difference is remarkable; I live in Midlothian and often cycle along the A766 (which I affectionately refer to as The Nutcracker, given the surface clearly hasn’t been treated since around 1896),and the bumps were so comfortably absorbed by the gel padding that I shaved a good whack off my normal time along that stretch of road. It was such a relief not having to worry about my testes ending up as a couple of hairy pancakes yet again that I could pedal with gay abandon, and leaning back into the saddle is also very comfortable on the hip bones too.Being a Selle it looks great; the upholstery is top notch and looks great against the silver frame. I have a long jaunt coming up, a good portion of which is along fairly poor road surfaces, and I’ve been dreading it largely due to the pain I was expecting to experience. Now I can’t wait to get going.Seriously - me and my perineum cannot recommend this saddle highly enough!

I find it interesting that this seat is usually promoted as a "woman's" seat, when in reality, it is only a half inch wider and a half inch shorter version of the regular "male" seat. Proper fit doesn't demand gender labels.I am a male road bike rider, and have been using the "medium" size of this seat for nearly two years. It does a better job than any seat that I have tried, but my butt still gets sore.I am outfitting a second bike and decided to give the "large" size version a try. I have a somewhat skinny rear end and have long wondered if the slightly larger seat would provide a better fit. When I saw the low current price, I decided to give the large size a try.I am going to experiment with the medium and large and see which works best for me.It would be nice to not have a numb butt after two hours in the saddle.I will update this review soon.

I am a solid built 6' 230lbs woman, I ride anywhere from 50 to 150miles a week. I had been struggling with sciatic pain and numbness in my feet, basically in pain the entire time I rode. I had tried several saddles to remedy this situation (some very expensive, some not). Nothing helped until I found this saddle. I can't say enough about the comfort of this saddle, it solved 90% of my issues, and I have hopes they will completely go away after I adjust to it. It is not as big/bulky as it appears in the picture, perfect slim size with a padding that is just right. Also, the gap or slit in the middle is extremely comfortable, I have no issues with irritation at all. If this is something you are specifically interested in,make sure you buy this model as the others have smaller gaps. Love this and I will probably buy a few more for safe keeping.

I purchased my first E-bike, had it delivered and had to assemble it. I purchased this seat after reading reviews and looking for the style I wanted. First, I am a larger male, 6-04 245. My only concern was if this was too small or not and I looked at the larger size....but that appeared to be for women based on reviews I read. I gambled with getting this size (medium), especially after reading how there were some complaints about the larger size interfering with the rider's thighs. I put this seat on my Stromer ST2 and after my first and second test ride, could not believe how comfortable it is. I just took it out on a longer more aggressive ride and paid very close attention to the seat.I am extremely happy with the fit and comfort and would very highly recommend this seat to anyone. LOVE this seat!!

For reference I am a 41yo 260lb male. I bike an average of 20 miles per ride,3-5 x week lasting about 2 hours per ride. I have done about 5 rides (100+miles/10hrs) on this seat. The seat is on a full suspension MTB. I bought this seat to replace my Selle Royal of the same size. Both are fairly comfortable for a guy my size but this seat eliminated 90% of the numbness I was having with the Selle Royal. Compared to a stock seat these are both INSANELY more comfortable. For guy my size this is about a close to perfect I will find. Most people think the bigger/wider the better but then you end up with interference if your pedal stroke and/or chaffing. So there definitely a size limit before it negatively affects your efficiency and begins to create other issues. Good Luck!!

Easy to fit and adjust. I replaced my Forme factory fitted seat (which was also made by Selle) owing to increased PSA levels found during a routine health check (many saddles are not kind to your prostate). As part of that checkup I also need to lose weight so wanted to increase my activity levels and have since lost a few kilos in 6 weeks by cycling more. This saddle is still in the first position in which it was installed. As it is (almost flat - about 1or 2 deg's nose up) I find I have 2 seated positions - one forward and another sitting back and more upright. I plan to adjust it to be a little more nose up (4-5 deg)and move it slightly forward to then have the one sitting position with my weight further back as that is the more comfortable position.

I have to say that the seats that come with the road bike look nice and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. However, when it comes to comfort and for keeping the jewels from becoming numb...big thumbs down. This seat, however, has done the trick. I have ridden on it four times and each time the ride was 20-30 miles and between 1-2 hours and no numbness. My groin being totally numb was the scariest thing that I have ever encountered. When I could not feel anything after riding a few hours, I immediately went online to find a replacement seat. I highly recommend this seat to replace the one that comes with your road bike.

I've had very painful experiences with finding a seat that didn't bring me to tears, so I was a little nervous trying a different one. I needed to replace my Serfas RX women's saddle (there was nothing wrong with it - just old - torn cover and not as supportive anymore) and came across the SMP TRK Lady. I'm so glad I tried it! It's a little firmer, so that took a few rides to get used to. But it's supportive without pressuring the sensitive area. I just went for an 80-mile ride and could focus just on staying hydrated and fueled. I didn't even think about my seat!

Not all Selle saddles come in small sizes and because of the central channel, the saddle is slightly wider than normal. I bought a medium because they don't offer small for the SMP model but you can get small in others, such as the Hybrid and T2 ones, I believe. I find this slightly too wide on my racing bike so I will probably move it to my mountain bike and get a small sized one from one of the other ranges for my road bike. So it is worth going to the Selle site first where you can enter your pants/trouser size to select the correct saddle width for you.

First, let's all recognize the facts: Everyone's saddle needs are different. Preferences are also different. Types of riding are different. And so on. Now, moving on, I can say that this saddle works very well for me. I ride a Jamis Renegade on roads and gravel, with typical rides of 30-50 miles, for a total average of about 120 miles per week, sometimes more. This saddle fits my butt the way I like it, meaning there is enough padding without cramming parts together in too tight a fashion. I've tried other saddles with less comfort. This one works for me.

I've been using a large cruiser style seat on my hybrid bicycle, complete with springs built into the seat. It looks absurd, and didn't seem like the right seat now that I am taking longer rides (30-35 miles). I finally decided that I needed something comfortable but not too big. This seat is absolutely perfect! It is just the right size, yet I haven't seemed to have given up any comfort at all. If anything, it's more comfortable in some areas than my prior seat.I've been disappointed with seats in the past, but not this one! I highly recommend it.

Sold my last SMP saddle with my bike and had to get a new one. I was measured up for mine at a bike expo and have had it for a few years. Really comfortable but not so big it stops you moving about on the bike. I’m a male larger rider 6’2” and I do bike parks. This saddle works brilliantly for me. The chap that bought my old one was skeptics about it but says it’s one of the best saddles he has used and wouldn’t give it back. Go figure. Just get one and no, it’s not just a ladies saddle but I don’t doubt that female riders would benefit as well.

I was having so much trouble with my old seat and decided to try this one......or never ride again! I was really hurting. This seat is amazing!! I have now ridden on 4 rides, all over 30 miles in length (2+ hours) and all my soft tissue discomfort is gone. The change was immediate- I couldn't believe that this seat made that much difference but I'm really glad I looked around and found the seat with the biggest cut-out on the market. Width isn't a problem, gel is nice. Even when I am in the down position on my road bike, it's still comfy. Whew!

I have always struggled with discomfort in the saddle and always stuck to the philosophy of "no pain, no gain" when riding, but this saddle is amazing! I used it 5-6 times on my trainer before taking it out on the road and noticed no discomfort during those 45min - 1hr sessions. I decided to take it out on a 15 mile ride on mostly uneven pavement and it felt so good, I did an extra 5 miles! I was a little nervous about spending a little bit more on a specialty saddle, but now I am a believer.

I've never tried an extra wide saddle, but this was an improvement for me. Like other Selle saddles I've owned, the back is flexible and comfortable but the nose is hard as a rock. Watch the videos online on how to determine the best fore/aft position and angle for these saddles. I've spent more than an hour with the bike on a trainer experimenting with different positions. So the rear of my butt hurts much less than before. I would rate the comfort higher if the nose had more padding.
