After several months of regular cycling (several hundred miles per month) with a conventional saddle I had developed lumps and inflammation in my perineum, which at times was quite uncomfortable, especially on long rides. Researching solutions online it seemed the SMP range would likely sort me out. After carefully reviewing the options for size and padding I decided the Stratos would be right for me. In terms of fixing my problem area it is 100% successful. However, now the pressure is very much focused on my sit bones, which means an upgrade to my cycling shorts and a period of manning up. If I was 10kg lighter, and I could afford to be, this saddle would be super comfortable.

This saddle is by far the best that I have used over the many years of cycling. I’ve used many different types and experienced problems between my legs (I’m sure you get what I mean) which caused medical issues. I was recommended SMP by a doctor, which I then looked into. The seat is very narrow and looks like a torture device but for me this helps a lot as I have big thighs so having something narrow helps with the pedal stroke (my thigh doesn’t get pushed away from the frame). Due to the shape of the saddle I find that I sit in one place and do not feel the need to move about. Personally I do feel that it is expensive and especially as I have three of them but they are worth the money

Just got one of these having bought a new bike and not getting on with the saddle it came with. I have an SMP Stratos on my other bike and have been using it for about 3 years and love it. I was gutted to find I couldn't seem to get hold of another! I ordered another saddle with a central channel but it just didn't seem as comfortable. I found this saddle on amazon and had to buy it, got it fitted by my bike fitter and hey presto, lovely and comfortable! The dipped nose is a great feature for reduced pressure when riding in the drops.I hope they never stop making these!

Excellent saddle really helped my sore bits, looks fabulous and love the Italian logos on it. Very pleased with this saddle and worth the investment if you struggle with numb tingling bits like I did after being in a saddle for a few hours. I ride 100-150 miles per week so worth the investment. Also get out of the Saddle more often which also helps.

Quite simply the best saddle I've ever had and def worth the money. Takes a few rides to bed in, a little fettling for correct set up and bang you're in!!
