Since I put a lot of value on a safe stand, I was faced with the choice between the Fire Beetle and the Primus Spider Expess II 16 months ago. Due to the price and the better stability, I decided on the Robens Fire Beetle. The Fire Beetle is therefore more stable because the three legs are on the upper side slant. As a result, the pot has exactly 3 support points. At the Primus, they run horizontally, which is why the pot has several points of contact and thus can wobble (I tested extra in a shop). In addition, the more contact points the pot has to the legs, the more heat it loses. The biggest difference between the Primus and the Robens might be the preheat / generator loop. With the Primus,the gas cartridge can turn around at <0 ° C in the winter, so that liquid gas can reach the cooker, where it evaporates in the generator loop and thus can be burned. I thought that this would not work with the robes because he does not have a loop. However, I have tried it myself with a cartridge from the freezer compartment (-17 ° C, measured): The Robens can be astonishingly ignite, despite 70/30 standard gas mixture from the cartridge, so no WIntergas. First, let it burn for about 1 minute full throttle. Of course with the pot on it. This also reflects some heat on the burner. After about 1 minute I turned the cartridge over, closed the valve a bit. The burner gets a boost first, it can come to a few flashes. But if you turn up again with a lot of feeling something, he can be super run without flames with LPG. I suspect that the silver tube in the middle heats up so well that it gasifies the gas. In any case, he also regulates himself quite well. 500 ml of water were boiling in a heat exchanger pot with lid after 1:35 minutes. For not even 35 € a great cooker!
