I switched to this notebook after finding my A5 bullet journal a little cumbersome and love it! The journal lives in my handbag and is sturdy enough to live up this challenge. The attached elastic band has never slipped off, and holds the book tight enough that nothing can slip inside and damage the pages. It's small enough not to be a bother and now comes everywhere with me. There is a relatively large cardboard wallet in the back pocket which I have shoved stuff in before and the elastic has still held. I stick a lot of things in my journal and as you can see in the photograph it only adds to its charm. The notebook will fold out flat to write in, though you need a little persuasion.I have practically folded it inside out before and you can't tell. Washi tape and glue tape rollers stick in the book fine. Just be aware that the pages are on the thinner side, so if you coat one page in washi tape don't expect to able to write smoothly on the following page - you'll get stuck in the bumps. I only use biros and coloured pencils in my journal, neither of which go through on to the other side. If you use a pen heavy-handedly it will leave a ridge in the opposing page (you can see this in the picture of January's cover page).I'm tempted to get a few more of these just to use for general writing. I'm extremely happy with it and believe it could serve multiple purposes admirably.

Love it! It seems that my quest on a notepad which can take my fountain pens nicely finally comes to an end! I tried Moleskine, Leuchtturm1917, Dingbats and many more; before this one, I could only use Maruman (made in Japan) which was not perfect -- your finger prints changed the surface somehow so sometimes the fountain pen ink still featured. Now all my difficulties came to an end -- accidentally I read a review recommending Clairefontaine paper (CF) and this notebook uses 90g CF paper. The colour of the paper is not pure white but the soft ivory tone is very pleasant to the eyes. As other reviewers said, the cover is extremely soft and you cannot help but stroking it.What impresses me most is still the quality of the paper: the paper is able to hold fountain pen so well and the ink dries fast. The paper also take other medias extremely well. My favourite is how the colour pencil lead shows the vividness of all colours. And the touch of the tip of any media to the paper is a pure enjoyment. I am totally blown away by the performance of the paper.

As a diligent Moleskine user, I have always stuck with the brand, yet I found that the paper has become so thin over the years that you can even see pencil marks. I decided to branch out, initially about to go for the Leuchtturm 1917, but I'm so happy I did not go with the crowd. I decided to buy a Rhoda A5 and I will never go back. The size is perfect, the paper cannot be compared to the two bigger brands - it is so thick and smooth, whilst having a huge range of colours for the silky soft cover. I was sceptical of the dots, initially thinking they were too prominent on the page, yet when I received the Rhoda I was happily surprised - perfect for bullet journaling. All and all,I have no idea why the Rhodia is not top of the notebook charts!! love love love

This is my third bullet journal, and I am back to Rhodia after a brief foray into Leuchtturm which i found inferior in paper quality to Rhodia. I find the soft cover much more attractive to hold and use, there is a handy pocket in the back of the diary to hold any loose papers in, and a ribbon to save your page. The paper doesn't bleed, and I used a range of different pens. Also, with my previous Rhodia as it was getting full, the journal held up nicely and non of the pages became loose unlike other journals i have used. It is worth any extra money spent on a journal that is both pretty, nice to handle and can stand up to a lot of daily use.I shall be sticking with these journals in future!

I'm a heavy user of notebooks in my professional life and get through several each month. I use Moleskine, Leuchtturm 1917 and Rhodia the most, as they are all high quality and hard wearing. Of the three, the paper in the Rhodia journals is head and shoulders above the others, and can be relied on to take all sorts of ink easily and without any bleed through. The 'webbie' (A5 squared) is legendary and for good reason, and this larger soft back version (which uses slightly thinner paper) is also superb. You get similar features to the competitor brands - a ribbon for page marking and a large pocket on the inside back cover - but the paper is so much better.

An excellent quality book which is ideal for journals. Unlike a certain market leader it isA) genuinely French rather than made in ChinaB) bleed-proof. I’ve used a variety of pens, from fountain pens to brush pens and the paper holds the ink well with no bleed or see through. The B5 size is ideal for writing and drawing in a journal and line spacing good for those whose eyes are over 40.My only two criticisms - some of the prices are ridiculously high for what is essentially a superior exercise book. And the cover is a pig to write on if you want to label the spine. Most inks smear. How about supplying with orange labels (to match the end covers)?

This is a lovely notebook, but not really suitable for bullet-journalling because the dots are black rather than the light grey I've seen in other dotted notebooks, and the pages are yellow/cream rather than white. The paper is great quality with no bleed from muji fineliners, crayola supertips or stabilo highlighters. (Promarkers do bleed through, but I've yet to find any paper that can withstand them)Watercolours don't bleed through if you're careful, but the yellow paper will distort your colours.I've dropped a star because although it's lovely it's pretty expensive for what it is, especially as it's unsuitable for the purpose I bought it for.

I bought this to use as a bullet journal. I had previously used the Moleskin and Leuchtturm 1917, both of which I found the paper to be too thin and had a lot of shadow on the pages.I have used this now for 5 months and as I am nearly finished, ready to buy another. I am 100% satisfied with this product. The soft cover has proved to be durable but for me, the main feature I love, is the quality of the paper. It is slightly thicker than the notebooks I had used previously at 90gsm, where most are around 80gsm. You wouldn't think it would it would make that much difference but it really does.

Excellent 90g/m2 Clairefontaine paper, attractive appearance and well made. I use Leuchtturms but always interested in trying other products. For me, the main issue was the lack of open flatness - the notebook just doesn't open out nice and flat easily which in the first pages is very inconvenient. I always find the Leuchtturms open flat very well because they are constructed better - the spine of the cover is not attached to the pages which makes it open flat. The Leuchtturms have quite a few nice features which give them the edge. However, at less than £9 the Rhodia is great value.

This Rhodiarama Sapphire Blue notebook is a joy to write on. It uses Clairefontaine 90gsm paper which is soft, but holds ink well without seeping through to the next page. I bought two because they were on offer, but though I prefer plain paper, the lines in these are not too dark.An absolute joy to write on. If Rhodiarama hold their prices for these A5 notebooks then I will most definitely buy more. Totally a five star notebook, and also ~ at the back is a lovely contrasting yellow envelope holder which makes the A5 notebook all the more appealing to own.

This notebook is perfect for what I need. Smooth pages have very little amount of pen shadow. My ink also dried really quickly meaning no smudging (I use Faber-Castell pens). Enough pages to write out a diary planner week-to-week page style which is what I use it for. Strong, roomy pocket at the back. Soft cover, nice and bright. The only problems I can find are the ribbon feels a little low quality and could be longer for my preference. Also there is no elastic loop to hold a pen. But otherwise great! Would buy again.

Fantastic A5 notebook very similar in design and quality to more expensive notebooks. I got this at an amazing price! For some reason the blue was less than half the price of the other colours. It has a lovely contrasting orange elastic band closure and page marker. The paper is good quality and my pen hasn't gone through to the other side of the page. I'd definitely buy more - especially if I can get another one st a reduced price, although for the quality I'd probably pay the full price as they're quite special

I had heard that Rhodia notebooks had better quality paper than Moleskine and Leuchtturm notebooks, so I thought I would give them a try. This soft back blue lined notebook was the cheapest on offer. The paper is noticeably thicker than the other notebooks I have used, and it passes the bleed through test with flying colours. However, the hardback versions of this notebook are more expensive than either the Moleskine or Leuchtturm notebooks, so will be an occasional treat rather than a regular purchase.

This notebook is BEAUTIFUL. It's really pocket-sized and has a really soft-touch cover with Rhodia logo embedded in the centre. The inside covers are lined in plain orange card with a expanding slot on the back inside cover (never really know what to put in these though!). The paper inside is cream with a dark grey dotted grid. A really wonderful notebook. Rhodia always delivers excellent quality - anyone who loves notebooks will love this one too. It's completely delightful.
