This is genuinely an upgrade to the original parts; I was expecting the usual average set of parts marketed as an "upgrade", but it is far superior.The original piston seal feels stiff and 'squeaky' when new and never seems to seal quite right, but the new seal is firmer, and despite being quite hard to get into the new cylinder is a good tight fit, yet still runs silky smooth.The only thing I would say is that the instructional video isn't very clear if you've not done this before. Make sure when you 'insert the piston at 45° angle' you do it in the direction the piston normally moves, and make sure you remove the piston seal embedded in the head of the pump,

Great kit, P38 now raises between settings in 2-3 secs.Great to have the instructional video too - would be lost without it on first one.Some suggestions for options:a) the old triangular gasket on mine stuck around the bolt holes (too much original Loctite maybe), tearing off the outer edge of the gasket. How about an option to have the triangular gasket too ?b) The piston seal clamp ring was almost impossible to remove even after cutting away parts of the seal as per the video. The screwdrivers mangled the clamp ring and the lower piston rim, so I had to dress them both back to ensure no extension scored the bore of the liner.How about an option for you to supply piston,

The repair-kit came in three days after being ordered and in good condition. Dismounting/remounting the compressor assembly went fairly well, assisted by a youtube video. Not in vain, considerate (slow) progress while working was suggested. After all, the device works acceptable, not like new. This could be due to hidden leaks having nothing to do with the kit. The price is more than fair.Carry onReinhardt

Great product. This product works very well and is very straightforward to install. I rebuilt both the pump and the valve block on Saturday morning and it was back in the car that afternoon. I forgot just how quick the system can fill from empty. Only advice is to ensure you completely purge the system before you unplug any of the hoses. (get the software and cable for this).

This is the 3rd kit I have bought and this one is significantly better quality than the the previous ones. The materials used are excellent, the finish is much better and the tolerances are much tighter. All in all, a far higher quality product.

X8R came highly recommended via the P38 owners club. The kit arrived promptly and was fitted to my compressor which now works as it should. The kit has everything you need to refurb your compressor and I recommend you watch the 'how to' video.

Excellent product, Why pay more ? Job is more difficult than you are lead to believe on u tube but not because this product is in anyway inferior , good job good product, first of many on my P38 !!

Excellent bit of machined kit which saves me a bunch of money as i was able to rebuild my old air compressor which in return fixed my suspension. Highly recommend even for the novice diy mechanic.

Not as easy to fit as you might think but once done it works really well would buy and use again just hope I don't need towould recommend seller and product

Slightly tighter fit than I was expecting, which suggests a slightly better design, but apart from that it let me reassemble the pump with no problems.

I run a p38 owners club and also a garage that works mostly on Landrovers.I use these refurb kits regularly and are probably the best on the market.

Great kit with everything needed to repair your eas compressor with good instructions on YouTube mine works great now and lifts up quickly ?

the kit sorted out my air suspension problemmy range rover wouldn't rise at all but all sorted now
