I have used a cheaper type cable lock which, when it came to the inevitable and I forgot to take it off, the wires simply pulled out of the ferrule which it seems was merely crimped on in a press. Fortunately as it happened, because it meant no damage to the bike's wheel spokes! Unlike an earlier similar bout of forgetfulness with a cheap disc lock, it merely bent and fell off, but unfortunately in that case ruined the disc in the process. Neither of them prevented the bike being ridden away, as this was precisely how I broke them! I have a sidecar outfit so what I've been wanting to do for some while is to tie the front wheel to the front bar of the sidecar. This Oxford lock is long enough to do exactly that.

after months of debating to leave my motorbike on my front drive i decided i would take a chance, i put this lock through my wheel and through a bush trunk, the next morning i found the lock had been crushed with bolt cutters but still held strong and my bike therefore safe, luckily for me it must have been a rather stupid theif as he could have quite easily cut through the bush trunk... hey ho :)

I brought this to replace a 15 year old version that had served me well but was looking very tired. Great for securing my scooter whilst shopping etc. if your in a high crime area then a heavier chain may be a better bet but for my needs this is sufficient, coils up to fit under the seat and looks chunky enough to deter casual theft

Already have one of these and would recommend these Oxford bike locks to anyone thinking of buying a high security lock for there bike. I always have trusted Oxford locks the best on the market ?

I wanted something light but with more security than a cable lock that I could carry with me and padlock my helmet to the bike from time to time and this does the job perfectly.

Another quality Oxford product, feels very strong. I've been using these for years and purchased this as a replacement for one I've had for many years

Had my previous lock for about 15 years. This one is perfect and should last me at least another 15 years

Good portable lock. Use it with an Oxford helmet bag to lock my wife's helmet to my Motorbike.
