I really wanted to stop buying bottled water at the grocery but could never find a bottle that 'worked' for me. I hate the ones with the built in straws or the lids you had to unscrew to drink from, and especially the sippy cup styles. I carry water with me all the time so they have to be easy to carry, use and clean. I'll admit I'm picky but after trying about 10-15 different types that were all either a pain to use, or a pain to clean, I had just about given up. With each new one we'd try, we were back to the bottled water within the week. While on a shopping trip about 40 minutes from our home, I ran across these Nalgene water bottles. They looked to have a perfect design to counter everything I hated in previous bottles, they were also sturdy, attractive and reasonably priced. I decided to try. My search was over. These bottles are THE BEST. I've been using them for about 18 months now and can't imagine using anything else. Love the finger hole for carrying,. They're the perfect size for my bike/car/gym have a great cover to keep germs at bay. They are ultra easy to wash with no nooks and crannies to wonder if it REALLY got clean. Dishwasher safe & BPA free too! We haven't bought bottled water since buying these! I have mine with me 24/7 and they have held up great. After buying one for each of us in the store we found them and discovering these would be bottles we would actually use, I turned to Amazon to order back-ups. Even though my original bottle still works great, I did recently order new, "fresher" ones. I thought I got my 10 bucks worth and deserved a new one ;) I've even had friends ask me to order some for them since they loved mine so much. Although have all 3 colors (one for each of us so we don't get them mixed up) my favorite is the green, my icewater looks so refreshing in it! I hope Nalgene never quits making this style. Perfect!

English:I was given this bottle at work via a marketing promotion. I instantly knew this was the best bottle i had ever encountered. After falling in love with it even more by using it on a daily basis, i had no choice but to buy another one for home.Pros:-BPA Free- Great size and weight- Awesome lid that wont spill- Drinking nozzle lid that easily flips for drinking on the go, but also holds well for no spills. Also, very convenient whole for easy holding- Drinking nozzle itself is the perfect size, lets water flow easily, and very easy to clean.- Bottle itself is super strong and has measurement down the side.Cons: My other water bottles and cups in general are jealous because i dont use them anymore.:)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Spanish: Me regalaron esta botella en el trabajo, a traves del departamento de mercadeo. :)

I was lucky enough to get one of these on accident. When I purchased my second one from Amazon after my dog chewed up the first, I knew exactly what was good about it and what I didn't like about it.This bottle is not water-tight! It will leak if it's shuffled to its side. If you accidentally tip it over while working, the cap is enough to keep the water in while you grab it; maybe a few drops will get out. This is all the water-tightness I need from this bottle. The size is great. It's very easy to hold in your hand compared to the other fatter bottles with the wide mouths. The mouth is the perfect size. You don't have to struggle to get water out, but it's not so wide you can't get your lips around it.The cap is easy to pop up!The people complaining are pushing the tab *into* the bottle. I admit my wife does this and struggles to open it, and I did it a couple times when I first got the bottle. The trick is to lift AWAY from the bottle with the tab--it has a lip exactly for this. And if you still struggle to open it you can use your finger to pull the whole top away from the tab.So, beyond knowing what you're buying, the one downside of this bottle is the hinge plastic. This DOES wear out over time. One tip: DO NOT separate the two pieces in the top, even when washing. Just leave them together, and it will be fine. My previous bottle had cracks in the plastic because I would constantly pop the top off and play with it while in meetings. However, even after a year and a half and the few cracks it worked just fine. The people saying they broke multiple tabs within a few months must have been using then as hammers!

I'm an avid outdoor adventurer (run, ski, hike, bike) and I love this water bottle! How do I love it? Let me count the ways ... 1) You can drink water from the bottle without having to squeeze the bottle or suck on a straw--it's great to be able to just drink! The spout through which the liquid is dispensed is somewhat larger than a straw, and so drinking from this bottle is much like drinking from a glass, except because there is a spout (as opposed to a basic screw-top Nalgene), I can easily drink from the bottle during a bumpy car ride or while running on a tread mill or riding my bike without spilling. 2) The bottle is slender and fits in a bike water bottle holder or a car beverage holder.3) The bottle is easy to open on the go--the cap that covers the spout can be flipped to the open or closed position easily and quickly with one hand--no wrassling with a valve or having to have two hands to unscrew/screw back on the lid. 4) It's easy to clean--the spout and cap have no internal, inaccessible parts, so the spout and cap can be thoroughly and easily cleaned. 5) The spout/cap mechanism is robust--I've used the bottle for two years without any component of the lid (spout or cap) breaking. I've used many a water bottle over the years, and this is my favorite bottle for drinking water on the go. (For filtering and storing water, I use the basic screw-top Nalgene.)

I'm not a heavy water bottle user. I keep mine in my backpack for short walks, light transport, and for things like keeping on my night stand at night.Pros1. Nice design, color, and size. Easy to hold, fits in my backpack drink holder thing, and it looks nice.2. The lid mechanism is fun to play with.3. It's easy to clean.4. Seems pretty sturdy.5. BPA Free!Cons1. I can see the lid breaking or leaking for some people. It's definitely not a tight seal. I'm okay with it because I only have a light use case but if you're a hardcore backpacker or cyclist or outdoorsman, you probably need something with a tighter seal and more rugged features.Overall I would recommend this bottle but only if you're like me and you only need it for a few things. It looks nice and the BPA free thing is a good little bonus. It's great for those with a lighter use case. If you beat up on your water bottles (not a bad thing but let's face it, some of us do), you should find something more rugged.UpdateSo I left my water bottle at a car dealership and lost it when they threw it away. Came back and bought another one of these. Same color (blue). My thoughts remain the same. It's a good water bottle but not if you need something sturdy.

This product is made in the USA and BPA free which were the main selling points for me. The product seems to be made well, the flip open lid seems to be a design that will sustain normal use for years to come. It's hard to say how long the lid latch will work as it's just plastic, but it seems to be a decent enough quality plastic that it will hold up for awhile, I'm not sure how well the latch would hold up to a direct impact from a fall, but I don't plan on dropping it as the little finger holder makes it easy to carry. I haven't tested to see if it leaks, I'm sure it would leak as this is not a "leak proof" bottle. I knew when I bought it that it wasn't made to be leak proof, but I don't carry this in a bag or anywhere that this would be an issue. Plus, leak proof usually makes it difficult to get good flow for a big drink, or it's just difficult to open. I just wanted it to be easy to open and easy to get a big gulp of water, and with it's large opening at the top you can get a big gulp for sure. I just did my research, knew what I wanted which was a BPA free, USA made product that was easy to use, carry, and get a big drink in a hurry. This product delivers for those purposes.

Purchased this water bottle to replace identical water bottles bought from brick & mortar location a couple years ago. Returned to the original store, but they no longer carried this style. Very excited to find the same style at a significantly lower price on Amazon. Have used the original bottles almost continuously without a problem for 3-4 years. During that time I have repeated carried them to the gym or CrossFit as well as froze water in them (with cap left off) for Hot Yoga. Eventually, only repeatedly dropping them directly on the cap resulted in breaking the flip top.The bottle opens easily with one hand; simply grab near the top and you can flip the top open with your thumb. There is an approximate 1" spout on the top, under the cap, to drink out of. Pour spout is simply gravity poured; does not require 'biting' or 'sucking' on a nozzle to drink. Personally, I prefer this type of bottle for use when working out. Bottle and cap have endured numerous dishwasher cleanings, cap on top shelf, so I would have to say they are dishwasher safe.Great bottle at a great price! Would definitely recommend this product.

Wonderful product! After a LOT of use the little pump/vacuum action will wear out a little, the bottle might leak if on it's side but that's after a LOT of daily use. I rotate a dozen of these for our household of 7-gym, sports events, we live in SC and it's HOT here so 3 always go out the door in a backpack to school DAILY plus I usually take one with me in the car on errands. The size is perfect to get through one spin class or to have after one swimming workout and the ride home or a pilates workout/ride home. INDESTRUCTIBLE. If my kids can break something they will, just because they can. So far they haven't damaged a single one of these. Not because they haven't tried-they've managed to kill quite a few other brands but we've yet to have a single casualty with this brand. My son is an Eagle Scout and he used the same brand/different size when he hiked the Appalachian Trail. I also love the open mouth on this. I HATE the "suck it through a straw" or "have to squeeze it out" type. When I want a drink I want to just pour it in my mouth and flip the lid back closed and go.

So, I am in search of a good wide mouth water bottle that does not believe that they should be $40 and can hold a decent amount of water and fit in the water bottle holder on my bike. It was a lot and I thought I had it with the 32oz Pogo, but it did not meet all requirements, but this one did. I wanted a cheaper price to have multiple for convenience, this way I can keep them in the fridge and run them through the dishwasher. With buying multiple I was able to see that they were all the same, but some had been harder to open than others. This eventually wore in though. It has a nice leak proof top, that is mostly easy to open, even with one hand. The mouth is nice and wide for getting that quick drink as you need it.The bottles have survived multiple trips to the fridge and dishwasher. They fit in the cup holder/water bottle holder of my truck, treadmill, elliptical, and bike. 22 oz of water seams to be a good amount. One even took a fall at full speed off the bike onto blacktop without loosing a drop. Overall, I was very picky and this ended my search.

I first found the Nalgene Tritan OTG BPA-free water bottle on a clearance display in our local Meijer. 3.99 and I only bought one.I fell in love with the bottle on the first use. Wishing I had purchased more of them, I searched the area for another one, and I accidentally ran across some 87 miles away. At 12.99, I purchased another one. Wishing I had purchased a couple more, I found I could no longer buy them locally. I was thrilled to see them offered at Amazon and immediately ordered two more.I drink a lot of filtered water and love having more than one Nalgene OTG to grab when going anywhere. These bottles have been dropped, left laying down, and I also found one hanging upside down in my canvas tote bag.NO LEAKAGE!! :-) They strap easily to my bike and sit wonderfully on the treadmill or the weight resistant devices I use at the local gym. Plus I can carry a bottle on my finger and I actually forget it is there.I love the easy flip open top and the round mouth pieces. None of these sissy sipper style water bottles for me.

I thought I was going to break my thumb when I first tried to open this bottle. I bought four. I liked that they were Nalgene and BPA free. I replaced all of my previous Nalgene bottles. It's a simple design, which I liked. But - as other reviews have said - it was very difficult to open them the first time.My husband got one open, and then we realized that if you twist it just a bit, it makes it loose enough to pop it open. After that, they open and close just fine.So far, no leaks. I had one in a big bag with my son's spare clothes and jacket while we walked around Indianapolis's Super Bowl Village. It got jostled around quite a bit as we bumped around the crowds, but it didn't leak at all.I was very happy. It's also easy to open and the hole is not so big as to make one look uncouth while drinking from it. This is a big plus for me as I used to get water sloshed down my chin from my wide mouthed Nalgenes.Overall, I think they were a good purchase, especially, because they were less than $10/each.

I've tried several water bottles with a straw. Most of them I've disliked because either you have to suck too hard to get the water out or there is not enough suction/air leakage and air bubbles are dispersed with every drink. I dislike metal bottles because to me they have a metallic taste. The Hydracoach, which has a built in straw is great, but it doesn't have any protection (cap or cover) for the straw. Without a straw cover, it doesn't travel well in a bag. The Nalgene Tritan is the in-between bottle. It has a cap. You can easily open, close, and drink from the bottle one handed. Holds a fair amount of liquid (little over 20oz). Doesn't taste like plastic even when new. Fits in most cup holders.Isn't completely water/air tight, but can be tipped upside down and knocked over with little (few drops) or no spillage. Price is excellent. The only cons I can think of is that the bottle is not completely sealed, so make sure yous tore it upright in a bag and the bottle is not insulated.

I've had a few of these water bottles and have gotten multiple others to by them as well. The marks say 20oz, but is actually 24 if filled to the top. Perfect size! I keep one next to my bed at home and one on my desk at work. The cap is very easily opened/closed with one hand, and the diameter is thin enough to fit in any cup holder or water bottle pouch on a backpack. The cap is a little too fragile for heavy use, so don't play with it (flip open and close while walking around) or the ring around the back might crack/break. Also, the rubber inside the cap could rip, and the clip that holds in on the front can bend/break. In addition, don't toss it in a bag where it might tilt or lay on its side since there isn't a very tight seal on the cap.If that's your plan, you might want to look for a more durable bottle. For my needs, the positives definitely outweigh all the negatives and I will continue to buy these bottles even after they eventually break.

So I ended up getting one of these bottles to replace a smilar width wide mouth bottle. This is a step up in my opinion. It has a smaller opening that is easier to drink from, it is easier to open one handed, and the opening isn't threaded so you don't have to worry about spilling due to threads collecting water. There are flaws, however. The latch on the flip top is neither durable nor secure. It slowly wears so it doesn't latch as well, and is easy to pop open anyways if you aren't gentle. I have thrown this on its side on a car seat only to find it popped open and dumped water all over the seat. It also doesn't handle drops well, I have broken the top dropping it full directly on the top.Still, in spite of these flaws, I still bought a replacement because of how much I liked it, along with an "on the fly" model to try that out. I personally prefer the "on the fly" model, but still think this is an excellent choice.

I have purchased two of these so far. I use it all the time and the flip top design is really nice for use while driving or working out. The flip top on mine broke after about a year and a half of heavy use. It was mainly me constantly fidgeting; opening and closing the top constantly will eventually break the hinges on the cap. However, I e-mailed their customer support about my problem and within an hour I got a response back asking me what color cap I wanted and the address they should send it to. I really do not think the hinge breaking problem will happen under normal use.I have also dropped this on the ground many times or kicked it off a table by accident and only in rare occurrences, where it landed in just the right way, has the lid ever opened on me from falling or being knocked over. The bottle has a solid feel to it. It also has markings on the side to measure the volume of liquid, an added benefit.
