Having long tired of plastic bottles due to leaching and the potential health hazards they pose, I searched high and low for an economical alternative. I was very disappointed with stainless steel containers which can still be manufactured with toxic coating and thus sought to use glass exclusively. Until I bought the Lifefactory bottle, I was constantly washing and re-using other (smaller) glass bottles which often had flimsy caps. When I first saw this product on Amazon, I balked at the price. In fact, I still do. However, it seems Lifefactory will benefit from my desperation for a healthier means of transporting beverages as I have seen nothing that even comes close.I can recommend it for the following reasons:1.The obvious top reason, it's not plastic.2. It's large enough to help one stay hydrated during an 'average' (I'm going to say 1-2 hours) workout session.3. It's got a convenient sturdy handle that screws on and off easily.4. It's easy to wash. It says dishwasher-safe but I prefer to handwash to save water, so I can't verify that claim. Use warm soapy water, rinse, pat it dry with a towel, and you're fine.5. It's easy to pour into. It being glass, I wouldn't recommend putting super-hot liquids in it.6. It's not insanely heavy for a glass container. In an ideal world, it would be as light and strong as mithril but I'm sure I can manage.7. It survived a poorly packaged Amazon box and only had a minor scratch. I was about to return it (whoever packaged it ALSO forgot the invoice/ return slip) and in my annoyance and preparation for a complaint, I decided to test it for leakage. Verdict: that long scratch which is nestled under the silicone cover has a noticeable depth to it but I'm not seeing or feeling anything come out and I'm inclined to keep this one.My only suggestions to this wonderful product's creators would be to expand the colour choices and find a way to make the bottle more affordable. As with organic food, clothing, and cosmetics, it should be accessible to everyone.

The great things about this bottle are1+ Made of glass, so no BPA or chemicals leaching into liquids2+ Was not made in China, so no fear of lead, or other contaminants in product3+ Being glass it doesn't impart a flavor to the liquids inside like metal or plastic bottles4+ It can hold hot or cold liquids, I have poured hot coffee and iced drinks in it (not at the same time of course!)5+ Sturdy, it is glass, but thick, and the silicone sleeve protects it from breakage. I have dropped it a couple of times and no cracks, even. It does have a small gouge from something though.6+ It fits easily in the water bottle pocket of my backpack.7+ The mouth is wide so it's very easy to clean8+ The entirething is dishwasher safeThe not so great things about this bottle:1- It's very difficult to drink from, even after having it for close to 9 months I haven't mastered not spilling stuff on myself. I've learned not to drink things that stain clothes.2- It's heavy. I've heard others complain about it, that their plastic or metal bottles are lighter, but I carry it every day and don't mind it at all. The pluses more than make up for the weight.I recall Nalgene bottles had a silcone insert to help with the drinking spilling problem, I'm not sure if that is available for these bottles, or if that would fit inside. I'll have to look into it.

I really like this bottle! I have used it everywhere, from a gym to uni lectures to various outdoor activities, and it works fine everywhere! The bottle is sturdy and thanks to the silicone sleeve you can get a good grip of the bottle. The sleeve also protects the bottle, I have dropped the bottle once but it survived without a scratch! There are markings on the sleeve in ml (from 100 to 600) and oz (from 4 to 20) so you can easily see how much liquid is in the bottle. The mouth is wide which makes it easy to fill, to drink from and to clean. The bottle size is 650 ml.I think the best thing with this bottle is that water tastes fresh without any plastic or metallic tastes you get with plasticand metal bottles. The only downside with the bottle is its weight; with the cap it weighs 493 g when empty, approx. 1165 g when filled with water. (I do understand that this bottle is heavier than a plastic one because it's made of glass but it feels a bit heavy anyway).Overall, this bottle is highly recommended!

The bottle holds a fair amount of water and fits well into the side pockets of my backpack. It's great to have a portable glass bottle to tote water. There's no plastic or metallic taste or fear of the associated chemicals leaching into the water. I haven't had any "accidents" with the bottle yet to test its breakability, but the silicone sleeve should protect the glass and it also makes the bottle easy to grip, even with wet hands. I have tipped the capped bottle over numerous times, and carried it on its side in a bag, and there has been no sign of leakage. The handle makes the bottle easy to carry; it also makes it easy to close the cap tightly, even for someone with small hands like mine. And, of course, the bottle is reusable, making it environmentally friendly. Oh, and it just looks cool. :)The cap can be a little difficult to screw on straight (to line the threads up properly). Also bear in mind that this is a wide-mouth bottle, so it can be tricky to drink from while walking, driving, etc.

It's a very nice product, works well, washes fine in a dishwasher (you don't need to take the plastic off). The one caveat is you need to be aware of how to avoid leaks. Before its first use, I tested a full bottle in various positions on a towel for a few hours to check for leaks. It was absolutely fine, the towel was totally dry, there were no leaks at all, so I started using the bottle full time.Unfortunately, on its first time in the real world, it started leaking, and I found out why. It seems that if the cap is on properly there are no leaks, but it is very very easy to accidentally put the cap on at an angle, and that's when the water starts coming out slowly. So, basically, this bottle is leakproof IF you visually check the cap each time you use it. You can't just casually put the cap back on without looking as it is too easy to put it on wonkily, you have to hold it up to check that it's flat against the bottle each time. This is what loses it a star.

I bought one a few months ago to use for smoothies, and I like it so much I just bought another one (see images)! I make a big protein shake every morning to drink throughout the day, and I wanted something that is portable and seals well. These bottles are one of my best purchases on Amazon in the sense that I use them *every single day*. They go in the dishwasher just fine. Yes, if you're not a tiny bit careful you might spill on yourself (cause the opening is fairly large), and I get smoothie on the bridge of my nose sometimes from the upper rim of the opening, and my major complaint is that the lid sometimes takes a few "back and forth" twists to get it to lock in place so it'll close, but all-in-all this is a great bottle that I use a ton. My first one has stood up to months of every day usage.

Love this! This is the second Lifefactory Bottle that I have bought, I also have the larger 600ml version in a nice light green. I use this smaller one for work and days out and about just the right size. Love the handle on the top of the cap. Cap is leak proof (having been tossed about in my bag) BUT BE CAREFUL you need to align the cap properly so that the cap screws on e.g. there have been times when I've screwed back on wonky and it has missed the grooves, causing slight leakage. I have only used this product for cold or room temp. drinks not hot drinks (I'm not sure if you can put hot teas in this flask). Product is sturdy and well made.Wanted to buy a few more of these as gifts for family and friends but there doesn't seem to be any stock of these sizes.

With the recent concerns over using plastic water bottles, I was wanting something different. I'm not a fan of drinking out of stainless steel and so thought a glass water bottle would be perfect. This one was by far the best option I came across. It's made of a heavy-duty glass, has a great protective sleeve, I love the handle on the lid, and it's dishwasher safe. I ended up paying a little more than I would have liked, but it was worth it to me. The only thing that is a little annoying at times is that the lip of the bottle sometimes gets water around it and then when I go to take a drink I spill it on me. That may be more of a user issue, though!I also like it because it has a nice look about it.

I use my flask everyday at home and when I go to Bikram Yoga. The colour is lovely and the screw cap is leak proof (so far! fingers crossed).Well made and sturdy. Easy to clean due to the screw cap and wide top. Apprently the rubber sleeve is removable so you can clean the glass but I haven't tried it as it looks like a tight fit to get back on.Also bought this in the smaller size (400 ml Drinks Flask Glass Raspberry) for use in the car (the bottom fits in the cup holder) or at work.Only minor negative is it is a little heavy compared with a plastic bottle but water and drinks "taste" better from this glass flask.I would deffinately recommend this item to others.

I was looking for a glass water bottle after reading a bunch of horror stories about plastic bottles leaching a variety of awful things into the water. This bottle has not disappointed me. It washes well and leaves no smell or residue of previous beverages. If you occasionally like to drink squash or juice, you can - I think hot drinks are also fine but I haven't tried that myself. The rubber cover can be removed and the mouth of the bottle is wide enough for a washing up brush to get in there - it's also dishwasher safe. I would like to buy the straw cap for the bottle to make drinking on the go more convenient but will wait until I find it at a great price

I am on a quest to be reliably hydrated. In that quest and in my success thus far, this bottle is a plain necessity. I have a set that comes with me to work and by the end of the day, at least two of them need to be empty. They sit nicely on my desk and are great fiddle toys for my coworkers when they come visit and I have never gotten so many compliments on a water bottle!I have dropped this a few times without it breaking. This thing has gone through the wash, the dishwasher, and has come out resilient and clean. I can drink without worry about chemicals and the color gives me a little jolt of happy in the midst of a crazy day.Love these bottles!

I got this bottle mainly because I wanted one that will not leak, and one that is BPA free. I have both the screw cap and flip top lids (mainly to switch when i get to work). I use the regular lid when I'm putting the bottle in a bag, the flip cap seems like it would be easy to brush against something and come undone, but I use the flip cap when I get to wherever i'm going. The glass is thick, and the silicon sleeve has good grip to it. I haven't dropped it yet, so i can't say for how it stands up to a shock, but overall I really love it. My water always tastes fresh, and it does stay cool for a long while.

This water bottle is ideal. The opening is wide enough to throw in ice cubs and the lid securely keeps everything inside... I've never had a drip or a leak. The bottle itself is heavy (due to the glass), so you can't "toss it back" like you could a plastic sports bottle and expect to not get a face full of liquid. Just like any glass full of water, you'll want to slowly lift it to your lips and take a delicious refreshing sip of the ice-cold refreshment. Ha. Anyhoo, I absolutely love this bottle and take it everywhere with me.

I got this bottle because it matched my red polkadot work bag and had the added benefit of having no BPA. The wide mouth makes it very easy to clean (I don't have a dishwasher) and drink out of. The top is sometimes a little difficult to get on straight but it works. I did break my old one. It fell when I didn't have the top on right on cement , landing on the lip . I dropped the old one several times with the top on and it survived. All in all, I think it is a good product. It is also not made is Asia which is a good change.
