Initially this did not work and I assumed that the problem must be with my 'phone rather than the battery and therefore I would need to buy a new 'phone. Then, reading the small print, I discovered that the new battery has to be charged up for a couple of days before it kicks into action. It was fine after that. They tend to last 2-3 years. I find that 'phone shops do not sell batteries so this is the best place to get one.
