The main reason I got this pump is because it screws onto the valve stem. Most pumps use a hokey valve head that attempts to clamp onto the valve stem when you flip a lever. These may work for a while, but then they start slipping off and leaking as you pump, or they don't release very well and let out a lot of air when you try to remove it. Plus, they need a lot of clearance to clamp onto the valve so if you have a deep-dish rim or the valve is short, they won't clamp on well. These problems have frustrating workarounds (eg hold the head onto the valve and pump with your other hand), but they shouldn't be necessary., My old Blackburn pump suffered from all of these problems before it finally died for good.That's the main feature that I like about this pump.
