I got the dual compound Kool Stops because I couldn't decide between the salmons and these. I'm not sure if they perform better than all salmon or not, but I can tell you that they are quiet and they STOP. Both in pouring rain and in the dry, they stop without drama.In comparison to the stock shimano pads, these are significantly better in the rain. The shimanos were "ok" in the rain, but still a little frightening. These are great and seem to only be limited by the grip you can generate with your tires in the conditions you're in.Just be sure you take it easy the first few days and learn the grip characteristics of the pads. I found them to be about the same as stock in terms of feel,

These are great brake pads for a decent price compared to plenty out there. How do I know? I don't. But, they sure beat the previous brake pads I've owned, in which I constantly needed to lock the rear wheel in order to come to a sliding stop. Fun, but not so much fun when there's oncoming traffic speeding at you. If you're fairly new to biking and commute on a daily route, these brakes will work just fine. Once you depress the handle to your brakes and these pads make contact to your wheel, they will slow you down at an instance. No more locking of the wheel is necessary! The only reason I give it a 4-star is because they squeak,

I used these cartridges on the front and rear of my Soma steel road bike. They were loaded into Ultegra brake calipers. The pads fit perfectly into the stock Shimano pad holders and held very securely. These pads have a very smooth engagement when applied. They provide a nice initial bite, without being too strong, and will stop smoothly from there. No squealing or shuddering. I am very pleased with these pads and will be putting a set on my wife's bike in the very near future.

When I first look at this page I thought it's not possible to get a good brakes at this price point.It turns out I was wrong. I used to have SwissStops and I think this brake pads outperform them. My rims are sparkly clen. I have not heard a single squeak for 2 months. They stop you very softly if you push gently, but also grab your rim during the emergencies. I do not ride in rain so I can not review wet performance.

Good brake pads so far. I've had it with Shimano pads because the aluminum from the rims continuously get stuck in the pads which marks and scratches the rim and causes an annoying grinding noise. Supposedly rim friendly and so far, I think they are.They're a little more narrow than Shimano so I'm not sure if they'll last as long but as long as they don't ruin the rim, I'm OK with that.

I really like disc brakes, but for frames that don't accept them these are the best thing you can do for braking performance. Great stopping power, I can actually lock up the wheels, something I've never been able to do with other pads. I feel a lot more confident with Kool Stops. Don't skimp on brakes, they are an important safety feature of your bike!

I've used SRAM Green, Black, Forte Brake PAds and Shimano R55C3 pads.I keep going back to Kool Stop, they have the best brake modulation feel, they grip just right and work well in all conditions. If you ride a lot of dry conditions, I recommend the salmon pads over these dual compounds. Otherwise, for wet and dry...you cannot fail with these.

Bought these as a replacement for the stock pads that came on a 2006 Specialized Roubaix. Those pads would start hissing after just a couple of hill descents, even with regular cleaning. After putting these on I no longer worry about slowing down safely on fast descents. They're also very quiet (after a few miles of break-in).

My old brakes caught metal shards from the rims. It created a really annoying grinding sound. I tried using sandpaper on them and cleaning the pads, but it did not help.With these pads, I no longer hear the sounds and are not trapping metal pieces. Plus, the braking power is much more stronger.

I used these to replace the pads on my Caliper style rear and front breaks on my 2005 Lemond Big Sky S. Easy install and i broke them in doing a 30 mile run. They worked great. I almost forgot I had new brakes. No odd sounds or irregular breaking. Great deal

These pads work very well in dry conditions, and better than average in wet conditions. They are better than other brake pads that I have used. They don't stop as well under wet conditions as they do during dry conditions, but they're a good combination.

Bought these pads to replace stock pads that were overdue for a change. These have worked fantastic and on the first few rides the extra stopping power even took a little getting used to. Will definitely, purchase these again for future replacements.

Love them. Better than stock for sure stopping power in dry and wet weather, and getting rid of that squeal when stopping. I've always had success with Kool Stop brakes and pads that's why I buy them. Better than stock and other name brands pads

The pads that came on my Trek District belt drive were absolute garbage and packed up with metal shards, and were very noisy, so I bought these to replace them. I couldn't be happier with them. Much better stopping power and sooo much quieter.

After getting horrible braking with the stock Tektro pads on my CAAD9 i got these. I was used to squeezing the brakes with my old pads so I just mashed the brakes at 15 mph with these. sent me over the bars. Great brakes and they never squeal.
