I have had my Kanteen for a few days now, and I have to say I am very impressed. I did not receive a damaged or dented one as a few reviewers apparently have, so I'm happy about that. This bottle really does keep water very cold. I filled it up with ice cold water at about 10am on a Friday morning, and by 5pm it was still ice cold. I left it in my car for a few hours today while running errands, and when I got home and took a swig the cold water I had filled it with in the morning was still cold. I had it sitting next to me all evening with the lid off, and the water is STILL ice cold. I should note that I live in South Texas, where today's high temp was in the upper 80s - meaning it was 90+ in my car.Overall,I am very pleased. I have another non-insulated Kanteen with the sport cap, which I do not care for at all, so I bought this one with the loop cap. I was really hoping it would fit into the side pocket of my 5.11 Tactical Rush 24 backpack, but it's about 1" too tall...a bummer, because as a music teacher who travels to various campuses during the day, I like to have water handy. I've ordered the stainless steel lid, which I think has a shorter profile, so we'll see if that makes it fit. If not, it's not a deal breaker - I'll just hook it on with a carabiner or something.I really, really love this bottle. There is absolutely ZERO funky or metallic taste to my water, another huge plus. I hope it continues to keep my water cold...probably do an updated review after I've had it a little longer. For now, though, HIGHLY recommended.***UPDATE*** I received the lower profile stainless steel lid today, and I'm happy to report that the Kanteen now fits in the side pocket of my 5.11 Rush 24 backpack. It's a little tough to get it in, but once it's in it fits just fine. I'm happy about this for many reasons, mainly that I can store it in that pocket rather than in the main compartment or hanging from a carabiner, and when I lash it to the passenger seat of my motorcycle the bungee cords I use to secure it won't squash it like they do plastic bottles. No more plastic bottles for me!**UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2016***I have now had this bottle for almost a year and I am just as pleased with it now as the day I received it; so much so that I'm buying a 32 oz as well. A huge item in its favor is that it absolutely does not sweat. I love that I can fill this with cold water, take it in my car in the high heat and humidity of south Texas, and then bring it to my office (which is usually about 68F) and the surface is dry. I can set it on my desk and not worry about it sweating onto my paperwork or leaving a water ring. Also, I have never put ice in this - only cold water from the fridge - and even with the outside heat it stays frosty cold for hours. I have had ZERO issues with funky taste or smell and the stainless steel cap I use still works perfectly. It does tend to squeak a little when I screw it on or off, but I've learned to live with it. I did drop it and ding the bottom a little but it hasn't affected the functionality at all.Another thing I love is the rolled edge of the mouth. I bought a 12oz insulated bottle for times when I want to carry less in my bag, and although it works just as well the edge of it is not rolled and makes it pretty uncomfortable to drink from...so much so that I really don't use that bottle at all. At any rate - this was a great buy and I'm looking forward to more years of use.

I previously used the 32-Ounce Narrow Mouth Nalgene bottle at my every day water bottle, however I'm moving to Nevada and realized that I need an insulated bottle or else my water will always be warm. Klean Kanteen had been on my radar for a while but I'd never used one of their bottles before. I'm very satisfied. I purchased bot the 32 Ounce and 64 Ounce insulated bottles. I had to wash each of them with soapy water when I first received them because they each had a smell inside, but since washing them there's been no smell and or taste to the water. I typically just fill them up with cold water without ice, yet many hours later the water will still be nearly as cold as it was when I first poured it in.I'm really impressed with the insulation on these bottles, they're exactly what I'm going to need for desert living. It is unfortunate that when left in the sun the outside of the bottles gets very hot, but that's to be expected. Also, I already have a dent in the bottom of the 32 ounce bottle after only about a week of use, but it's relatively minor and doesn't affect the bottle's ability to stand up. I'm concerned about what will happen in the long term and if I ever drop the bottles, because I've seen other Klean Kanteen bottles with a series of dents, but I'm not too worried. Both bottles look very classy and I've already gotten a bunch of comments on each from other people (particularly the massive 64 ounce bottle, which someone referred to as "a mighty jug". I also really like the loop caps, which make carrying each bottle, even when they're filled with water, very easy. The is the perfect size for my fingers and the plastic is smooth/soft enough that it isn't painful to carry. I also bought one of the sport caps, which I'm not a huge fan of and probably won't use much. I do somewhat wish that Klean Kanteen offered a narrow mouth option, similar to the Nalgene bottles, as I pretty often spill water on myself when drinking from these (particularly when walking or in the car). Still, that would make it more difficult to put ice cubes inside.Overall I'm really satisfied with these bottles and plan to use them for years to come. I've included photos comparing the sizes of the 64 and 32 ounce bottles alongside my Nalgene 32 ounce narrow mouth bottle.

We started out with 2 of the 27oz single walled Kleen Kanteen bottle but have switched over to the Vacuum Insulated for everything we buy now. We have 2 of the 20 oz insulated bottles, 8 of the insulated 16 oz tumblers ourselves as are we are a Kleen Kanteen family. Yes lots of folks like Yeti and Hydro Flask these days and a lot of the other companies but the consistent quality of these bottles and tumblers has been impressive over the 5 years we have been using their products. We use the 3.0 sport caps for all the bottles or the standard loop cap that comes with them. Both work great and hook to your belt or packs. So it made sense to get the larger 32oz for my wife to use at the office. Our grown up kids have the larger vacuum insulated bottles, 40oz & 64oz and growlers for their families and the 8oz vacuum insulated cups for the grandkids. Products work better then advertised and stay hot or cold for may hours as several people have stated. If you put ice into the dbl walled cups or bottles, it will stay cold 12 -20 hours depending on the temp and where you live. As I get older, I like the fact that that if you drop it will dent and not break. We don't like having glass around the house with the smaller grand kids and I would rather use food grade SS then polycarbonate or other plastics regardless what they have taken out of it to only find out 5 - 10 years later like BPA, it is harmful for you.. We look forward to using this item for the next 15 - 20 years or longer! One last observation about this product versus Camelback type bottles; For my 20 - 40 bike rides or hiking I use to use the Camelback bottles & packs but I got tired of constantly cleaning the mouth pieces on the bottles a as well as the tube and mouth pieces on the the Packs. Also you know need to buy all sorts of specialty brush cleaners to fit the various sizes. These you put in warm soapy water and done in a few minutes for the sport cap 3.0 if you use them with any type of juice, drink mixes or other beverages.

As advertised. A bit expensive vs. other water bottles but probably worth it.It will keep cold water cold 24+ hours. Note: I have yet to test in AZ 100+ degree temperature. So far in winter @ 75 degrees, does the job. My main use is for hiking. KK is also heavier & more awkward to use than my other (Nalgene) water bottles. That is why I gave 4 rather than a perfect 5 star review. I clipped onto my small waist pack belt with a medium size carabiner. It swings too freely & loudly bangs against rocks & I definitely feel the extra weight. When have ice in it (which is not always necessary) it is very loud as ice clanks against the metal.Other hikers have actually commented.Prior system was Nalgene 1 liter bottle with Outdoor Research water bottle parkaMy O.R. bottle parka weighs 4.0 oz.My Tall 1 liter bottle weighs 5.75 oz.Total old bottle system = 9.75 OzKK:15 oz! + ~ ½ oz. For carabinerTotal new, KK bottle system = 15.5 Oz.So, new system weighs 5.75 oz MORE.My issue with old system was zippers kept breaking on O.R. parka. But, it attaches to belt for hiking with no swinging or clanking & is easier to drink out of while walking with the smaller opening. Also, can freeze ~ ⅓ full by putting Nalgene in freezer night b4 as long as cap off. Absolutely can not/should not do this with insulated KK! Will void warranty. To drink out of KK I must stop since wide mouth is like drinking out of a cup rather than from a water bottle where one can place entire opening in mouth so no spills. That being said, if you carry the KK inside a daypack & only remove to drink at rest stops or carry in car, it is superb & would get 5 stars. It is a matter of personal preference & drinking habits.I’ve gone back to my old system for hiking & will have the KK as a backup for long hikes where I bring multiple liters of water. As I empty my carried Nalgene bottle inside the parka, I will refill it with my KK COLD water.

Excellent bottle from top to bottom. I chose Klean Kanteen because product tests rate it at or near the top for insulation, and it delivers. Cold water stays cold even if I leave it in a car cup holder all day in the Texas summer; even if the exterior is too hot to touch, the interior is icy cold, and obviously there's never any condensation. Actually feeling that kind of insulation in such a lightweight container feels like cheating physics and it's awesome. It's very easy to sanitize, the cap is a nice solid piece with no weird plastic/metal combo or other nonsense that makes uncleanable crevices. I use it for both water and gatorade, never imparts or retains any flavor or gets gummed up.Throw in the all-stainless steel cap and it's great for beer too.The 20 oz fits in a car cup holder and is the perfect size to be comfortable to use all day. I now drink virtually all my water from this bottle and feel pretty happy about not tossing disposable bottles in the trash all day. It's equally appropriate on your desk or at camp, in your work truck or at the gym. It even floats no matter how much you put inside so it's great for the pool or boat. The first one I received was dented on the bottom and scuffed on the side, obviously it had been dropped, probably on a concrete floor. However it still functioned fine, water was kept cold and other than being slightly wobbly it was perfectly usable. Thanks to amazon's excellent return policy I didn't even have to send it back while I waited for a replacement, and the second one was pristine and completely satisfying, so I can't bring myself to hold it against them.

Purchased 2 of these for my boys as replacements for the Dasani water bottles they take to school every day. I wanted to cut down on the cost of buying bottled water so often, as well as be more "green" and eco friendly. My first thought was that these are extremely well made. Very solid, but not too heavy for my 9 and 11 year old kids. I thought that the surface might attract nasty finger prints, but hand and finger oils don't seem to make marks, so far. Cleaning the outside and inside for initial use was easy. The inside I simply ran super hot water in it and put some Dawn in it and rinsed it out for 2 or 3 minutes.I may end up purchasing the sports cap, as unscrewing the lid is fairly noisy, unless you put pressure down on the cap consistently while spinning it. My kids will be drinking these potentially during class time and the metallic clanking noise may be an issue for the teachers. As a test I filled one of these all the way with tap water at the hottest temperature possible and the other with cold tap water with a handful of full sized ice cubes and left them both for nearly 24 hours (closer to 20). I was extremely impressed with the results. The hot water's temp had only dropped slightly. The cold water's temp was still extremely cold. Ice cold, in spite of the cubes themselves having melted.Great bottles and about $10 cheaper than you can find at retail stores like Whole Foods. The build quality is great and they'll last a long time, as long as my kids don't lose them at school first... :-\

This thing is awesome! I have bring it to work, the gym, on backpacking trips and fishing trips. So in other words, I got a LOT of use out of it in the last 6 months. The description says that it keeps ice for 24 hours... that's without melting! I measured, and it keeps a chunk of ice for about 3 days! I haven't actually tried it with hot food or drink, but I'm sure it lives up to the description. As far as durability goes, its a medium. That's why it got only four instead of five stars. I have dropped it from my hand to the ground, so maybe 3 feet ( I'm about 6'2 ish, so you get the idea.) Anyway, I dropped it, and it put a dent the size of a nickel on the bottom rim, so it doesn't sit perfectly level anymore.Still can stand upright, but kind of crooked if you get what I'm saying. It does scratch too, but (redneck moment) if you spray some heavy duty weatherproof spray paint on it, it will hide that and defend against any more scratches. Oh! And if you want to wash it, either use a bottle brush or put dishsoap in it and shake it up. Don't microwave it, freeze it, or dishwasherize it. ( I know its not a word.) Overall, as long as you're not going to Afghanistan on a deployment expecting this thing to be indestructible, go for it! You won't regret it for the price.

This bottle is magic!!!!! It keeps ur drink cold for hours!! Beautifully made.I first got the 64 oz same size as my Bluewave DAILY 8 Water Jug -(64 oz) BPA Free Water Bottle. And man this thing is huge. Its a beast. I have small girl hands so it was hard to grip the bottle w/ one hand. My coworkers would be 'what are u carrying?'. Despite the size it kept my water cold.I would put ice in at 7am and when i get off work around 5pm there's still ice in it. I love ❤ the 64oz bottle but the size was too big so I got the 32 oz. I probably have to refill it twice in a day because I'm use to drinking 64 oz but the bottle is worth it. I kept both sizes. I could use the 32 oz for everyday use and the 64oz I can bring on hikes to share w/my dog. I also got the sports cap. I'm ok ? w/ the cap. Wished it had a cover to cover the part u drink from.I chose this brand over the others because out of all the bottles this is the only brand that said 'responsibly made in china'. All the other bottles I found were made in china. In the end I think it's worth it. I recommend this botthe. They have other klean Kanteen caps that can hold beer ? too..just a thought

I only like cold cold water and was unsure if this was just going to end up another container that made big promised and failed to deliver. I am so completely happy with this Klean Kanteen that I have recommended it to others in my family that camp and also need a high quality beverage tote. I have on purpose left it in my vehicle exposed to high heat of the vehicle sitting in the sun, opening and drinking then refilling all to find the ice does truly last for right about 5 days and then the water inside is still cool enough to drink on day 6.You will see reports that some say it doesn't stand up to rough use. While I don't baby it I don't abuse any of my gear.It is heavy when full so accidental drops in my opinion are unlikely as you think about the lift. I have both drank right from the container and find the smaller opening makes it suitable for me one handed, some might ned two hands. I have huge mitts so I am an exception. I also carry it with another insulated glass for going to meetings or teaching classes so I don't look like Rambo drinking out of the big container. In short buy it you will be happy.

My husband and I love our Klean Kanteens (after months with 2 of the liter sized ones we bought 2 coffee ones *those were purchased elsewhere*). They are so easy to clean and keep things hot or cold for so long! The extra money for the insulated ones was totally worth it for us- we're both really busy and try to not spend money on unnecessary things like coffee, tea, smoothies, etc. that we didn't make ourselves at home. With all of those I can still wash mine out and fill it with plain water and it tastes great! We did break down and buy the 20oz coffee ones so we could take our coffee (or tea) and ice water (or smoothie) to work with us- we don't regret that purchase either. We expect these products to last a LONG TIME (the lids will probably have to be replaced sooner, but those can be purchased individually) so the cost was worth it. One thing to note is that some of the colors are matte, whereas others are shiny, so I would make sure to look closely at the picture (or go to the Klean Kanteen website) before purchasing if you care about that.

I'm a big Klean Kanteen fan and am really trying to step up my water intake, so I ordered the 64oz insulated bottle and LOVE IT! It's everything I was hoping for. I fill it up with ice, which stays intact all day long, and then fill the rest with water and that gives me plenty of drinking water for one day. I'm the type of person who needs my water to be by my side if I'm going to remember to drink it, so this option gives me a full dose of cold water without needing any refills. It's a large water bottle, obviously, since it's almost 2 liters, and I've gotten a lot of comments on it's enormous size but I don't mind. It's perfect for my needs. It does fit the normal Klean Kanteen sports cap,but since the bottle is so large I felt odd using it as a sports water bottle, so I bought a metal straw and keep it inside the bottle at all times. That feels much more appropriate for this bottle size and my 2 year old can drink from it then, too. Highly recommended. Thanks, Klean Kanteen!

Never used a Kleen Kanteen vacuum bottle, so I though I would take a chance. I bought a non-insulated one, and it was great. I was not disappointed when I got this one. It had the same high quality as the standard bottle, and it kept my ice water COLD. Like 24 hour cold. Plus, no sweating on the outside, which is a huge bonus when you have it in a backpack on a hot day. I did buy a SS lid, and put the included plastic one on the shelf. There's no metallic taste at all. The mouth is big enough for standard ice cubes from my fridge. It doesn't leak at all, either with the included plastic lid or the SS one. Oh ya and it looks awesome! I expect that the black is eventually going to get scratched, but hey that's normal. The one thing I would change on this is the paint by the neck - they should leave a 1/2" gap so your lips aren't on the paint when you drink.

I absolutely love this bottle. I was looking for something that keeps my drinks cool, is durable, and holds just enough ounces for me to stay sufficiently hydrated without having the annoyance of constantly looking for a water fountain -- this is it! I have Nalgene, Sigg, and a few glass bottles but this is my favorite. There is a slight metallic taste when drinking which I don't mind. I've left the bottle with ice in a hot car as I run errands and it stays cool throughout the day. It's also more dent resistant than my Sigg. The cap is slightly irritating. Because of the insulation it is occasionally hard to twist off -- I'm thinking of switching to another option.I also recommend the stainless steel option with burnished steel because it's scratch resistant I'm now looking to purchase the 60 ounce for just in the house.

Durable, functional, high quality and it does the job. The insulated bottles do a nice job keeping my water nice and cold, even when I'm sitting at the pool on 100° day. It's kind of crazy to pick up the bottle, which may be warm or even hot to the touch, and to get a drink of nice cold water. We use Vacuum Insulated Klean Kanteens for everyone in my family for our water drinking needs on the go and in the house. It seems obvious but the insulation "works both ways". So, if you pour a cold liquid into the Klean Kanteen, then it will keep it cold. But if you fill your bottle, for example, with regular temperature water and then put it in the refrigerator to get cold ... well,it will take about 24 hours until the liquid inside the Klean Kanteen gets really cold. The vacuum insulation does it job.

I knew this was going to be big but seeing it in person was a little daunting. I drink so much water this is going to be practical but heavier than anything. I will be really glad to have this when out hiking, I never seem to have enough water with me then. I actually might get a second for hiking, I drink that much water in a 4 hr hike. Or after a long car ride and a 2 hr hike. So nice having the insulated bottle. I am so sick of aluminum that goes from ice cold to tea hot in no time on a summer day. After receiving this I ordered a 32 oz insulated narrow mouth just to have a more practical size when I'm walking around and to keep at work. This bottle will definitely have a place in my life though not an everyday tote around bottle.
