I bought this as a replacement for a Neewer ND8 which I used frequently until it got scratched. The Hoya was almost twice the price but it's worth paying the extra. I was really pleased with the quality of this filter and was very happy to discover no color cast, as my Neewer had a slight red tint.I think I will stick with Hoya in future

We all know the HOYA Brand name equals quality at a reasonable price the glass is crystal clear and therefore helps produce great images. It does what it's meant to do, and I will always by a replacement if I ever, lost or damaged it some how. It's worth every star recommended. Mark Eddiford. Pro-Photographer.

Nothing wrong with this filter other than why name it NDX8 when it's only 3 stops? I tried for a milky river but could not get slower than 2 seconds at F22, I was hoping it would be a bit darker. The x8 made me think it was x8 stops.

It's a great filter to get you started on long exposure photography, there probably is some colour cast but it's very minor and completely correctable in lightroom compared to some plastic filters i've seen.

As I am a Hoya user I purchased this as a present for a family member who is just getting into photography. I'm sure he will be pleased with the results from this make of filter as I have been.

I usually go for Hoya Pro filters but opted for a cheaper one this time. I have to say I don't notice any difference in quality. This is a really good filter for the price.

good quality not used as much as the NDx4 I brought at the same time, if your only getting one I would go for the NDx4 and add a PL-C for additional exposure time

the filter is good, does what you expect without affecting IQ, color balance, etc... demonstration one doesn't have to spend 100$ in a filter to get good quality

Does what it says on the tin. No colour cast at all, works very well.Get an adapter ring so this fits smaler sized diameters and you are away :)
