Lovely wooden shape sorter and the small beads inside the shapes gives added interest to little ones who may not be able to sort correctly yet but who are at the exploring stage. Well made toy with bright colours. Some more challenging shapes for when they've figured out the simpler ones too. The only let down for me was the elastic which stretches across the opening. Whilst this is very effective at keeping the shapes secure in the unit, getting them out is another matter as you have to pull the elastic to one side whilst trying to manoeuvre your hand into the small space. It does look very tidy though and perhaps the addition of a traditional 'door 'style opening would take away from the aesthetic of the product but for me functionality is more important for a toy like this. Don't let this put you off too much though as it really is one of the nicer shape sorters I've had and seen.

My 1 year old loves this toy! She has just started to sort the shapes, she couldn't to start with and would just match the shapes by colour to the side of the unit to which they relate. All of the shapes have little balls in so they are like little rattles so she loves to shake these and bop about as well as bash them together. No issues with paint running, cracking or wood splitting. Perfect condition over 2 months of play so far.It is easy to remove the shapes, move the elastic cord and the shapes drop out.I love the shape of the unit too which is really different to most toys. It has the shape outlines drawn on the top of the sorting unit which is another learning opportunity for baby tomatch the shape to its outline.Highly recommend. Please like my review if it was helpful :)

Perfect first shape sorter, lovely colours and good quality wood and paint work. The pieces don't fall out easily as there is a piece of elastic attached to the opening, however a little difficult for chunkier toddler hands or adults to pull out the shapes because of the elastic. Shapes slot into the spaces easily and each shape makes a lovely soft shaker sound or tiny bell sound when shook. perfect for colour matching as the shapes and spaces have the same colour and of course learning shapes and physical skills.

Got this for my little boy at 12 months old, the manufacturers recommended age. He wasn't that into it then, but after a few months, really began to grow into it. It is well made and sturdy, though the fillings of the shapes could be more varied to make different sounds. Overall though, we are happy with this purchase. Lovely finish to the product, as with all other Hape toys we have. Recommend!

I bought this for my 13 month old for Christmas. At first he loved to shake the shapes but didn't put them in, then he started putting the easy ones in with my help. Now at 16 months, he can get every shape in and it's by far his favourite toy. It gets played with multiple times every day. We have a few Hape toys and they are always good quality for the price.

I was after some age approriate new toys for our little one and got this. She likes it and gets the hang of it now after a few weeks. She turns 1 this week, so it might still take her alittel while until she gets it fully where and how to put the pieces in. but she likes the coours and that the individual shapes are rattle too.

Bought this for my 9 month old, he loves that the individual shapes rattle and quickly learned to put the shapes in the holes (as long as I turn the corresponding hole uppermost) he also posts other things in and delights in pulling them back out through the elasticated holes! A robust and brilliant toy.

Really good quality. Has been bashed around quite a lot and still looks brand new. My son loves the shake aspect of the whole thing and my 9month old likes the little pieces to chew on and shake! Older one also builds towers with the shapes and little one knocks it over. Regularly played with by both!

Excellent toy. Well built, bright colours. The colours and shapes match so my daughter gets to recognise not just the shape but also to match the colours. The little beads in the body of each of the pieces is a nice little extra feature - this was particularly nice when my daughter was younger.

This is a lovely wooden shape sorter. Our little girl enjoyed shaking the shapes before she was able to use it for its shape sorter use. She now enjoys putting the shapes in. However, downside is getting the shapes out - she is unable to do it herself, so needs adult help when playing with it.

Brought this for my sons first Christmas when he was 9 months old, the rattle effect provided much entertainment as he wasn't able to sort them. He's now 2 and a half and it's still a much loved toy and still in perfect condition to be handed down to his brother!

My 16month old loves trying to fit the shapes into the wholes whilst also trying to say some colours. If a shape is too hard he isnt afraid to cheat and pop it in the side! He has thrown it around quite a bit and it's still in tact thankfully

My 18 month old daughter loves this. She’s able to engage with the shapes and colours and keeps her occupied for a good amount of time. Only thing she needs assistance with is moving the string out the way so that the shapes can fall out.

Great item. Good size, very tactile, beautifully made. A great addition that the shapes are also shakers. A bit fiderly for adult fingers to get the shapes back out but doesn't take away from how much we love this product

My very active 18 month old son is obsessed with this toy! He has never sat still and played with a toy so much. He also started learning his shapes and colors after playing with it for 2 weeks!
