I ordered these when our central heating and the back-up stove failed at the same time during a cold spell in January (honest!). They are a good fit, warm, light and very comfortable and can be worn under trousers and tucked into socks without anyone else being aware. Just that extra bit of warmth without being too hot. I chose the plain colour which was probably a mistake as it imparts a certain grand-dad look which clashes with the six-pack. Another unexpected side-effect is that as your trousers don't touch your legs and the long-johns are very light, you can suddenly feel as if you are wearing no trousers! Initially disconcerting, but ultimately curiously liberating.
