This was the cheapest piece of equipment I could find to be able to incorporate LAT exercises into my back routine. There is a list of 5 great LAT workouts on a popular body building site.I found that as many have found previously that fitting the LAT station to the ceiling required additional fittings. I screwed an old shelf across the ceiling joists and then drilled holes through that to fix the LAT station to with the supplied bolts. Putting the LAT station together is childs-play, but you'll need a couple of spanners/adjustable spanners. The LAT station appears to be well made and sturdy, I've only put 40kg on it so far though.I found that for my location in the garage the cable was plentylong enough for the weight attachment to sit on the floor and the bar attachment to hang from the station. With a higher ceiling you'll need to rest the weights on a small table or similar. The supplied bar isn't much good as it's very short, but it's only there to get you started I think. The first thing you'll probably want to do is buy a new bar, a 4ft bar would be best as you will probably want to incorporate some wide grip pull-downs into your workout. A 4ft bar will cost an additional £20+ though.Eventually you may also want to buy a tricep rope and a V handle to enable you isolate different back muscles.Katai Tricep Push Pull Down Rope Cord for Multi Gym. From opening the box to being ready for use in about 15 minutes. I found the base plate was wider than my garage ceiling joists so I fixed a scaffolding board first then attached the pulley bracket to the scaffolding board using 10mm coach bolts. So far I've had 60kg of weights (Olympic plates with 2" holes) loaded on and it's worked super smooth. Apparently it'll take double that depending on the strength of the ceiling joists. The bar that comes with the kit is quite narrow, good for tricep extensions but slightly narrow for lat pull downs....however for the price you really can't grumble. Some reviews have complained about the length of the cable but for a 7ft high ceiling i found it was perfect.Allowed me to load plates on the floor and bar was in reaching distance when sitting on standard bench.Highly recommended to anyone looking for a cable machine for home workouts.

I mounted mine on two planks of wood, then placed these inbetween the cross slats on the garage ceiling frame. One point to note is that when the weight is added, you can't really leave it standing after your workout, as the weights will go to the floor and the bar will shoot up and get tangled at the top. My solution is to have a small table positioned underneath the weights, for them to rest on when not in use. I suppose you could unhook the weights instead, if you want the machine out of the way.Instructions are in translated English, but the pictures are clear enough and with only a few parts, it's obvious what goes in where.Very pleased with the purchase - biceps are easy to work on with dumbells, but you'll need this machine to blast your triceps.

Because of dexterity issues I needed to move from free weights to more stable cable weights. I fitted the ceiling mounts on planks of wood which could breach the rafters in my garage much in the way suggested by a previous reviewer ( thank you). I also sourced a pulley and floor hasp with some PVC coated cable (all from Amazon) and now can do upward pulling exercises ( bicep curls etc) and horizontal rowing type exercises too. This is far more compact than a multi gym and fits well in a small area if my standard height garage. Very pleased.

There really isn't any other affordable solution to this problem. I'm and engineer and I've tried to creatively avoid needing a pull-down cable for triceps, but you really can't get away from the fact that there really isn't a better way to isolate them. The anchors this came with are solid. The weighted end doesn't swing around like a pendulum like you might expect and the movement feels really smooth. There isn't a guide rail so you aren't working against that. It feels better than the pull-down cables at my local gym.

As an industrial engineer, I'm often a little disappointed by the quality of most domestic equipment and this was no exception. Whilst it does what it says on the box and was quite good value for money, just a little more care in the manufacturing would have delivered a really nice piece of kit.

good value for the price it cost. although the plastic coating on my wire split, so i just replaced it with some strong safety rope and it actually runs better with rope than wire. also you can cut the rope to different lengths so your plate stack can be pulled straight from the floor.

good product for a home gym, nice smooth action just enough cable for my low ceiling height, will be too short for 8ft high ceilings will need box or bit of chain to extend , even thinking of purchasing another to bolt onto the floor to have more cable exercises

This is brilliant. I've spent years making versions of this using rope, chains and pulleys however this combines the best of everything ive tried. you can load it up with a LOT of weight and go for it. make sure the ceiling you fit it to can take it

Great piece of kit. I initially gave a poor review, but it turned out to be the couriers fault on late delivery. Gorilla sports customer support was great at getting my item back on track. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.

One of the best equipment I bought for my home gym. I used my own cable though which is 4 meters long. Original cable wasn’t long enough. Good quality and holds the weight. I use it for all sorts of exercises. Thanks.

Setting this up in my basement gym where I do not have enough head height for a lat pulldown machine. Will do job required of it at a cheap price. No way I will be able to take this to its max on triceps-sadly!

Absolutely brilliant smooth action and quiet if you have a small stand 15 inches high this is a perfect height to load the weights on leaving the pull down bar easy to grab and rest in between sets very pleased

I am still yet to erect this, however I have un boxed it and I can tell you this is a nice item, very well made and it seems like it will be a fantastic addition to my home gym!
