I am the owner of this particular Garmin Etrex 10.I have found it excellent to read due to the Black & white display.The screen is easier to see outside than the coloured variety.The battery lasts for 24 hours continuous use.You can even put maps in the flash memory quite easily.I have 3 street maps of different areas for geocaching and that only uses 1mb of it's 7mb memory.I use Mapsource maps to transfer them.You must remember to change the name of the maps to gmapbmap to make it read them also delete the base map as it's not really needed.All in all a nicely made robust unit at a reasonable price.I have tried my other but I always stick the the Garmin eTrex 10.

Found this GPS fairly intuitive to use and set up. I bought it to mark positions of fieldwork sites and estimate distances. Pleased with it apart from the joystick, which sometimes works efficiently and sometimes seems to have a mind of its own. I can't compare it with other GPS as this is the first one I've owned. It seems to work well in a hard case in my bag and I get plenty of satellites even when indoors with all windows closed.

Excellent basic Paperless Geocaching device. Holds plenty of caches if you know where your going. You need to load cache info in advance. Limited by lack of memory expansion. Not able to update road maps on this model.Still works well.If buying again I would go for the 20 or 30 but for the price this is great value.Good choice for the occasional cacher or for a second device so partner can join in fully.

I bought this to use for Geocaching, as the iPhone is woefully inadequate.As the Garmin displays no 'map' we now usually use the iPhone to get within 10 or so metres and then switch to the Garmin - it usually lands us right on top of the cache!

Great little GPS for Geocaching. Very easy to use and a good basic unit to get involved with the great outdoors.Not very expensive and if you don't like it plenty of other people do so very easy to re-sell.

It was bought as a gift for someone who uses it for work. It fulfilled all his criteria. He's delighted with it, and I'm glad that I was able to buy something for 'the man who has everything'

VERY PLEASED WITH THIS GARMIN ETREX 10 GPS BEEN OUT WITH THIS CARN'T FIND ANY FAULT WITH THIS, GETS SATELLITE VERY QUICKLY.

Good compact unit. It has a basic display but it is clear and easy to use. I use it mainly as a back up for other device,.

The etrex 10 is good apart from the buttons which are lnclined to break off. I am on my third one in seven years.

Seems to be the standard for handheld GPS devices, and will be very handy to use out in the field.
