Truth be told, I bought these Garmin sensors because I wanted them. I didn't need them - my £9 speed\cadence sensor from Aldi has done a perfectly good enough job, reliably for the last year. But somehow I convinced myself of th convenience of these that could easily be moved between my bikes, even though buying another one from Aldi would have been cheaper and easier. That said... I love the fact that these from Garmin don't require any magnets or aligned sensors, and they're far neater than the cheaper alternatives. They're so compact that you actually can't really see them, especially the case for the speed sensor which wraps round the back wheel hub.I've connected them to my Garmin ForeRunner 935.When I first tried to get them to connect, I couldn't get the cadence sensor to work, so I took the battery back off in case there was a plastic battery blocker. There wasn't. And when I put it back together, I either broke something or didn't put it together properly because I couldn't get it to power on for the next fourty minutes. Eventually, I managed to put it back together in a way that aligned the contacts and it now works fine. I'm not looking forward to replacing the battery though. This is the reason for the lost star in the review.Connectivity is reliable and accurate. Never any delay or lost moments. In hindsight. I will use these for races, and I'd have extra confidence in these kind staying put, as they don't need to remain aligned with other sensors. It'd be easy to accidentally knock them out of place mid-race, so perhaps the extra money is well spent!

I bought this sensor to use with a Garmin Edge 520 computer and planned to swap it between my winter bike and a static spin bike. Only used it on my winter bike so far (Norco Search) and it works a treat.Set up was a doddle (just need to find the right menu on your Garmin) - as soon as you put the battery in the cadence sensor it was found wirelessly by the Garmin Edge. Once the sensor & computer are paired, there’s nothing else you need to do: the Garmin Edge automatically links to the sensor every time I switch the computer on.Out on the road, the display on the Garmin updates to changes in cadence within a second or two. I’s behaved perfectly & hasn’t dropped out/lost signal so far over 5 or 6 rides, despite some foul weather. When you first come to insert the battery, you do need to be careful, as other people have said, but it’s not that tricky. The stretchy band that mounts the sensor to your pedal is nice & secure. It wouldn’t be too difficult to regularly swap between two bikes as I’d planned, but I think I’ll move a wired Cat Eye cadence sensor from my summer bike & permanently mount that onto the Spin bike, then swap this wireless sensor bi-annually between the two road bikes.Great piece of kit!

I have a Garmin Fenix 5X and so by extension have most of the Garmin sensors you can get. These cadence sensors have been reliable for me without any drop out issues in the data when synced to my watch. See attached picture. That was going uphill for almost 1.5 hours. Downhill there are gaps as it was a 2,600 ft decent and minimal pedaling required. The sensor mounts to the inside of one of your crank arms using elastic bands. I mountain bike and go downhill on some very rough terrain and the sensor has stayed put. I do not worry about this thing coming off ever. See picture of how I have mine mounted. The pedal would have to fly off before damaging the sensor.I’ve used this for about half a year now with no issues. If you are looking for a cadence sensor, I would not hesitate to recommend this one for you over the other brands available.

I just recently ordered this unit. I read the reviews here that said that the units don't always work. I also read some "professional" reviews online that said the product is fantastic and decided that it would be worth trying. Well, the first one arrived and would not work right out of the box. The internals appeared to be normal but I couldn't get the LED to flash. I tried using a known working battery but no luck there, either. So I requested a return/replacement. The new one arrived yesterday and worked perfectly right out of the box. I am using it with Zwift and it functioned flawlessly on today's ride. That's why I have rated it as a 4. When you get one that works, it's great. Unfortunately, their QC seems to be lacking and you'd think they would fix it instead of having so many returns.

I had the same issue many reviews mention where the sensor did not work - no flashing lights, not connecting to Bluetooth, even with a change of battery. I followed the instructions of one of the previous reviews to fix the tin holding the battery and the lights started working. Continued to have some difficulty connecting to the Garmin Connect app as instructed. Turns out the sensor connects directly to the Forerunner 35! Just go to Settings > Sensors > Add. It originally gave me messages to put device on sensor and make sure sensor was turned on. Once I switched to indoor ride and started my cycling workout, everything was working despite those messages. Good luck!

The Peloton app on ipad mini 2 recognized this sensor without having to install the garmin app. The sensor attached easily to the crank on my Sunny Fitness SF-B1805. Working fine through 3 spin classes. I will update as time goes by.Update Aug 2, 2020: About 30 spin classes in and it has only lost connection once for about 10 seconds. It has been flawless other than that.Update Jan 2, 2021: About 100 spin classes now and it losses connection once every 3-4 classes. I have to re-detect the sensor and it always comes back in about 10 seconds. Not a deal killer, but not ideal.

I bought both the speed sensor and cadence sensor as a pair to use in tandem with my "dumb trainer" during lockdown. The items arrived very quickly and were super easy to install.I've been using them for a month now and they have continued to be consistently accurate when providing rear wheel speed and crank cadence. One small tip is that you may need to position your Ant+ sensor where it is unobstructed by something like a table. A USB extension cable might be on your list if you're using a PC. For me on my phone, it works nicely.Super low budget zwifting!

Came super fast next day delivery. Just wanted a second one for another bike. Was having problems connecting to my Garmin. Yes, removed the white cover from the battery but still didn't connect.... Wait 30 seconds between removing the battery. Everything they say in the instructions Arrh!Decided to replace the battery with a new one and connect straight away! Not sure if this is old stock or just a one off problem?Good product though and once the battery was sorted connection is great if not for this issue would have given 5 stars.

Thankfully I never had any major issues with any Garmin products. Reading some of the reviews about this one made me a bit skeptical of ordering, even though I had owned the previous cadence sensor and never had any problems with it. Anyhow, I installed it and it paired right away with my Garmin head unit Edge 820. This is the new sensor which supports Blue Tooth pairing that connects automatically with Zwift. No ANT+ stick needed with this one.

This was a bit faffy to get running. I found that the battery it came with was dead so replaced it. What wasn't clear is the position of the backing plastic in respect to the connection points. This meant that there wasn't a complete circuit. After a while of digging on various forums I eventually found the solution and reorientated the backing plastic and since then it's worked great.

Not the cheapest for 4 stars but there’s is nothing else to gripe about. Attachment easy with the supplied silicone rubber hoops. Connects after a couple of rotations of the pedals to my Garmin 130 with ease. So far battery has lasted over 10 hours without issue so I can’t yet comment on the battery life claims but it does what it says it does, and I cannot complain.

I've only used the cadence sensor for a couple months, but so far it is meeting my highest expectations. It was easy to install and was quickly detected by my Edge 810 bike computer. The sensor allowed me to identify the best cadence for me and has eliminated my use of high cadences on hills.

An improvement over the older models since it supports Bluetooth BLE as well as the old ANT+ protocol. It was especially useful with my indoor training app that easily connects from my tablet using Bluetooth, while outdoors it will work with my Edge 1000 that only supports ANT+.

I bought this in order to install on my stationary bike to hook it up to Holofit Quest 2 app.Installation was super easy. Once installed, in Quest 2's Holofit fitness app, the device was easily detected and I am up in running in no time.Greately recommended.

If you are buying this, you must have some idea about what it is and what you want. The sensor attached easily to the crank and seems to work perfectly. It paired easily with my Garmin 130 and does what I want it to do.
