You get ten files in this package - two each of five colours. The colours are bright but the cardboard is not of the strongest - this product is designed for a domestic setting and for filing paper rather than anything too heavy. The bottom of each suspension file is, however, reinforced with additional clear tape which will help it not to split and the same applies to the top where it meets the metal hanger - all the same, I still wouldn't put too much in each of these files as they don't seem amazingly robust to me.The metal hanger appears quite strong and is coated with a fine layer of plastic which makes it glide along the rail in the filing cabinet drawer much more smoothly. The cardboard is firmly attached and the hanger will not slide out from its file covering. There is no way to link the individual hanging files so each will sit separately in the cabinet drawer. The label which protrudes from the top actually fits into slots in the cardboard. It's a bit fiddly getting them in but this method of attachment has some advantages - they will not pop out when the files are in the drawer and you can place them in a number of positions across the file and once anchored they will not slip out easily. You can insert the cardboard on which you have written into the plastic label when it is in situ and could even change it without dislodging the label although, again, it woudl be fiddly. There has been some thought gone into these hanging files and they woudl be ideal for use in a domestic situation with, for example, bills or documents (no bigger than A4 size). I think that they would stand this sort of use but they would not last in a heavy duty environment where you were filing lots of stuff and taking stuff in and out every day.

Paper abounds in my home. It can be found in every corner and I fight the mountains by attempting to classify it into something sensible within my two filing cabinets. I am thus always keen to look at all manner of filing systems. My problem with my current suspension files is that the hangers tend to warp, come off the cabinet rails and end up in the bottom of the drawers, which I find very annoying. These files, however, are made of generally sterner stuff and look as if they are likely to stand the course. I tested the ten that I received by sorting out my financial papers in preparation for undertaking my tax return.I now have various components in neat little folders sitting within these files and the effect is generally very pleasing indeed.I love the colours and the paper is very good quality. I am less thrilled with the tabs system, which I found flimsy and cannot understand why the makers did not go for some proper Crystal tabs that stand a chance of longevity. This is a minor gripe though.I am pleased to say that the net effect is excellent. I would certainly buy these folders and, in addition, I can now look forward to a smoother ride when wrestling with the demands of my online Inland Revenue form as everything is now in apple pie order.

Firstly, I would like to say how much I love coloured stationery - don't ask me why - I guess it livens up filing no end(!) I am comparing this product to my usual brand of A4 vertical suspension files which are produced by the stationery giant, Ryman. The Esselte product has an additional band of clear plastic on the bottom of the file to secure it against tearing when weighted down with papers, the Ryman one does not have this feature. The Esselte product also has five widely ruled lines on the front, enabling the user to additionally label the contents, the Ryman one does not contain this feature. The metal suspension arms on the Esselte product also has a smoother finish to enable the user to effectively move the suspension file backwards and forwards with consummate ease. The clear plastic on the top of the file allows the plastic tabs to move around much more smoothly, the Ryman product does not have this. So, it's a decision for the individual to make - do you want these additional features and if so, are you prepared to pay ££ more than a standard product? If so, this is the filing system for you, if not, it isn't.

These are pretty much your standard suspension files, but with a bit of extra reinforcement at the top and bottom.Suspension files usually fail when you overload them, so there's no requirement to pay extra for reinforced ones unless you need them. The ones which came with my filing cabinet have failed in a few cases - the card has torn at the bottom, or it's pulled out of the supporting bar at the top, or the supporting bar itself has bent. These replacements seem rather more up to the job, as indeed they should be given their premium pricing. The supporting bars are plastic-coated, allowing them to slide freely on the shelf rails. I use mine to hold document wallets, but they will work just as well with loose papers, or you can fit clips for hole-punched sheets if you like. The label tabs clip into neat slots, allowing you to fix them precisely into position.I can't really fault these suspension files and it's only the pricing that has prevented me from giving them the full five stars.

These suspension files are an absolute joy. The size is A4 and NOT foolscap. Meaning they are much smaller than the foolscap suspension files. Always remember this as you can easily order the wrong size for your filing cabinet/box or whatever. The files are beautifully made and they are of high quality. I can see me getting many years of use from them. The card is extremely tough and durable. You get five colours in the pack of ten, blue, green, yellow, red, and white. The tabs that come with the files are so easy to fit. You simply write on the insert card whatever your file is for, fold the card at the existing line and then insert it into the clear plastic tab.You just need to put the tab into the existing slots which is fairly simple. The whole look of the files after this is absolutely brilliant. I could not ask for more being slightly OCD and need everything to look tidy and uniform. I will definitely buy these again as I am delighted with the quality, cost, delivery and packaging.

10 files that fit into our filing cabinet a treat. Already organized but needed a few extra for new things so grabbed the chance to get these. They seem of good quality and strong enough to hold quite a bit of paperwork. Nice having the tabs already on them, so you can write what is in what. Various colours useful if needing them for different things, like bills, insurance, receipts etc so you can see at a glance which file you need.We tend to use these alongside previous ones in cabinet already and they are the same size etc so work well. The price is not bad when you consider how much they are in some shops and these do feel of good quality.I would buy these when needing more as think them to be ideal for home/business use. When they arrived was a bit shocked as they came in a big box, full of paper and inside a big padded envelope. Delivery was the quickest I have ever known too.

I have used many Esselte products and to me, the name has come to mean a well-designed quality product; these suspension files are no exception. The only possible problem could be that of size; but as they are clearly advertised as A4 anyone with a modicum of sense will know they would be too small for an old Foolscap-sized filing cabinet. The file is brightly-coloured which is ideal for a colour-coordinated filing system and also cheers up the boring but necessary task of filing. The added tape makes the file more robust which is a good idea as the file is surprisingly roomy; whilst the file runs smoothly on the runners.I like the tab system at the top, though that is personal taste. It might be said that they are flimsy but they do the job they are designed to do.A definite 5 stars from me!

The Esselte Pendaflex A4 vertical suspension files come as a pack of ten. There are two each of five colours - blue, red, yellow, white and green. They also come up with clear tabs for labelling. The issue I have had with this sort of file in the past is that they are not very strong. These are reinforced at the point where the file joins the plastic runner bit, so seem to be better made than most. They also have larger capacity than normal, as the bottoms widen to 30mm.Having used these for two or three weeks, and with them all fairly well-loaded (and taking items out of them every day), they've so far performed well. Whereas my other (cheaper) files were already creased and looking as if they would break after such a short period of time, these still look in perfect nick. Recommended.

Always useful, reasonably sturdy as long as you don't overload them, the overhangs can only take a certain amount of weight, though it's reasonably generous in terms of how much paper you put in. Pack of 10 at the price is not very generous though. Colour coding and labelling is very useful for your home office or household paperwork. The labelling system is really good. It's a plastic folded over label holder that takes the label in, and then you tuck the flaps on either side of the label holder into pre set holes along the inside top edge of the hanging file. There are enough of these holes allowing you to stagger the labels from one file to the next so they don't overlap and you can readthem easily without having to move anything out of the way.

Perfectly normal A4 hanging files. There are two of each colour: Blue, green, white, red and yellow. They look a similar quality to the ones that have been in use for years, so I’m expecting a similar life expectancy from these. One difference is that the bottom two inches or so are covered with plastic reinforcement. As part of the pack you get the plastic tabs and paper inserts that fix to the top, these are a different design to the ones I’d been using. The plastic is thinner and more bendy, and little arms at each side slide into slots at the top of the hanging file. These appear an improvement on the previous stiffer plastic ones I’d used that pushed down onto the top edge of the hanging file, which had a tendency to jump off when knocked.

I've bought various makes of suspension files over the years and I must say I am particularly impressed with these. They are made of card as most are and then to reinforce these they have plastic strips at the top and along the bottom edge where they are prone to tear or rip. This I approve of. The name labels are easily inserted in the plastic clip-in holders and these in turn can be inserted into slots along the top edges of the file folder. The colour-coding helps to keep specific sections in order in your file cabinet, drawer or box. These files slotted perfectly into my drawer and replaced some rather shabby older ones.All-in-all they are much better made than many files and therefore theyshould last longer.

We have a filing system at home and use the bulk standard dark green file dividers. These dividers are sturdy and attractive and come complete with clip on name tags which seem to work well. They are A4 sized and slide easily over the runners. Be aware before you buy these that not all filing cabinets are A4 so worth checking that you have the right size! The ten dividers are in a range of five different colours and I find that particularly useful as you can colour code according to the subject eg blue for credit card statements, white for bank statements etc. In that way your attention is drawn immediately to the right area of the filing cabinet. A nice product.

These Esselte Pendaflex vertical suspension files are A4 size. The main problem I have had with files like this is if they are overloaded they tear or the hook that holds them in the file case breaks. This item is alot more durable than cheaper suspension files and the price does reflect this. But to quate a phrase "you get what you pay for". The files come in different colours which allows you to use different colour files for different items. Rather obvious I know, but useful too.So all in all an excellent item. Yes its more expensive than some similar products but the quality is reflected in the price - higher quality and alot more durable.

These suspension files are attractive, seem well made and the colour coding (five different colours, 2 holders of each) is a useful touch. You do need to be aware that they are A4 size - many filing cabinets have a greater width than these. My desk drawer has two slots to the rear so it cab be used either for these compact suspension files or for the more normal wider ones. These are ideal for keeping relatively small amounts of documentation. I haven't tried them with a folder of any great bulk because I suspect they would struggle to hold it.But if used for the right sort of storage these are very good.

Really impressed with these files. Reinforced with plastic along the bottom and the tops, which mean they are able to hold a lot more than my previous suspension files without breaking. The colours are great, helping you to group things within your filing cabinet. My only criticism is the plastic labels that attach to the top. There are no instructions for how to attach them, and even when I did figure it out, I didn't think the design was particularly good or sturdy, I've take the clip-on labels from my old broken files and attached them to these new files instead.
