I really enjoy these Eschenbach Optik trophy D 10x42 ED glass binoculars. I have three sets of binoculars and these are my new favorite pair. The German optics of these binoculars is outstanding. Like most quality binoculars, you adjust the lenses to each eye to accommodate the differences between your eyes. They have binocular and case straps like most decent pairs of binoculars. They are not zoom lenses so if that is what you are looking for you will want to get something else. I am an avid bird watcher and I can tell you that even though these aren’t zoom lenses, they are great to use in the field. They are great in the field for two main reasons besides the great optics. 1)they are ergonomic and fit well in your hands. They aren’t too bulky like some binoculars and still have the ability to be put on a tripod. 2) They are fast and easy to focus, Even though you make your original adjustment to your individual eyes, they can be adjusted rapidly as you follow birds from branch to branch in the top of an oak tree. I have lost many a visual contact with a bird with other binoculars as I tried to follow them through the branches. These easy to use, low maintenance, high quality binoculars provide me exactly what I need in the field.

I've been looking for a new set of binoculars. My primary uses are viewing sports and surveying my property (large plot of land). The build quality of these binoculars is very high. These will no doubt become a family heirloom. The large 42mm full-size objective means lots of light reaching the eye so good for low light,colors and a wide field of view. The tripod mount is great for use at sporting events. The carrying-case seem a bit like overkill but it's very nice. Nitrogen filled so you don;t have to deal with fog. A bit on the heavy side due to the "magnalium" housing (aluminium alloy with magnesium and nickel ).

After a month of solid use, I can say that these binoculars are exceptionally good. Excellent light gathering properties and sharp focus. Minimal to no distortion, even at distance. They mount on a tripod for watching wildlife and observing the night sky. I love that they are weatherproof. Plan on taking the U.S. Northwest where that weathertight casing will come in handy.Update: Just dropped these last night onto our concrete sidewalk. A small ding, but no serious damage and still fully operational.Excellent binoculars that I can highly recommend.
