I personally got from another website for the limited edition gold version, apart from true beauty of the "reel appeal" this is a solid bad boy. Day one of use I managed to drag a 18lb pike with it. I personally use this as a spinning reel for use on a kayak and reccomend getting a "fox warrior spin 7' 10/30" to accompany it as from what I've found, spooled with daiwa 12lb sensor line this is a deadly combination of no escape and pure power. For a budget of £100 this spin/float/match combo is highly reccomend, easy use, smooth, and will not let you down wether bankside, boat, or kayak! For the money 100% reccomend!

Good quality product but for one detail ( also true of other reel sizes )--- The spool clicker is feeble and almost inaudible and quite frankly the worst one I have heard in 60 years of fishing .; despite trying to adjust position of leaf spring to improve matters . Whatever happenened to wobbly clicker pawls and tension springs if this mechanism is going to be a ever present feature of Daiwa reels, increase thickness of metal; that may cure issue-- such a shame . Classic case of " job spoiled for a hapeth of tar " as they used to say

Perfect reel. Lightweight and small, easy to hold all day when I'm walking along a canal or river. It's buttery smooth, makes my shimano reels feel rough!It comes with 2 metal spools, both shallow. This is great for canal jigging because they don't need lots of braid and you don't need to use any backing. Both spools are shallow but hold plenty enough for canal and river lure fishing.Great price and really worth every penny I paid for it. It's perfect for light jigs and drop shot on a 6-7ft rod.

I have 10of these truly fantastic reels they are so good that I'm currently replacing all my other reels 1. Line lay as good as other more expensive reels 2.the front drag as with all other daiwa reels 3.excellent contruction 4. Price very reasonable and and performance wise better than some of the more expensive reels I have owned in the past these reels won 2 major trade awards the angling times for best feeder reel and match fishing magazines best reel for under £100

Haven't used it properly yet but feels strong and smooth.My 2500 reel was causing wind knots in braid so hope this will help due to bigger spool size.The spare spool is great. All reels should come with 2.So useful to have 2 strengths of line so if one is used for spinning metal lures it can be heavy, with a light line best for flicking lighter stuff delicately.Ace.

This is my third Ninja reel, such is my faith in this model. It's both robust and smooth, with a click-like-clockwork clutch. The reel handles beautifully and looks fantastic. The 1500 size is perfect for light drop-shotting and handled a recent big catch of huge Dutch perch, topped by a 5lb 10oz beauty, with consumate ease. Top tackle.

Just bought the 3012A Reel. In fact it is my second one. Bought this one to replace my shimano baitrunner. I use it for all types of freshwater fishing and it handled everything I have caught up to 20lb carp with ease despite it's small size. Very nice looking reel and excellent quality. I would not buy anything else. Brilliant

I purchased this reel with the "Ninja Feeder Rod" and the two go perfectly together. The reel is smooth running with a spare reel which will take heavier line. This reel is comfortable in a float or feeder situation and I have caught fish up to ten pounds which was handled easily by this rod and reel combination.

There's not much to say that hasn't been written already. It's well-built, good drag, great to cast with and has easily handled everything I've thrown at it, from the most pathetic Perch ever caught to an 18lb mirror. I've used it mostly for method and float fishing and have no issues with it. Go on. Buy one!

Only received reels yesterday, so not had opportunity to use them.On the face of it they are typical Diawa quality, which is better than average. I have bought them purely for feeder work, which they look well suited forWill give me nicely balanced set up

Performs very well. If it has a fault it's a little bit too free running when using a 25g method feeder it tends to back wind if you've forgotten to engage the anti wind. Having said that it's super smooth and I love it.

Reel is a well engineered product and the line has laid on it perfectly but I have yet to put it to use.I have though paired it up with a Daiwa Ninja 10ft feeder rod and the balance is absolutely perfect.

Cracking reel, ultra smooth, 2 metal spools and immaculate line lay.Loaded it with 26lb b.s Diawa J Braid for light to medium lure/jig fishing.Beautiful front drag, virtually nothing to fault.

what a great reel. Smooth, looks good and definitely handles match carp of all sizes when balanced with a good rod. I have the same rod as reel ie Ninja. Daiwa have a great name for good reason.

A good size for my pellet waggler rod, had a 5-6 lb carp on this with no issues. The screw fittings around the handle are a bit plasticky, would be better in metal. The spare spool is a bonus.
