After many virtually problem free years with Shimanos I wanted to have a change, if only to get an idea of what was available . The Legalis was recommended to me , and despite preferring , and being used to rear drag I am delighted with this reel .What I like-- very smooth and quiet operation- pleasantly chunky handle (important when you are actively using the reel all day)- good bail arm operation , and the arm itself feels hewn from solid- very compact and light , but not at all flimsyDislikes ? Nothing serious but I find the clutch is nearly inaudible, I prefer something with a more assertive sound .Recommended .

I was unsure about buying this reel as I was sceptical about it being light, but the 'light and strong' tag is so true. I've used it for sea trout in the river and the sea and had some good fish test the strength of the reel and the smoothness of the drag and it truly exceeded all of my expectations. Please note that it's not a sealed reel for saltwater use, but I've been careful to rinse it after sea use and to avoid any dunking. It has had a few drops of oil on the line roller, spool shaft and handle as preventative maintenance and it's as smooth as it was when I bought it. Highly recommended!!

Very good quality reel for the price. The best reel you can buy on a budget, in my opinion. I like it better than my shimono Sahara of the same size because it's lighter and has a higher line capacity. This reel is smooth, attractive, and built well. i don't think you'll be disappointed if in the market for a mid priced quality reel..

I own many Daiwa Legalis and Exceler reels of orevious generation (non-"LT"). The new generation of these reels is a nice improvement to the previous models. Not only that the weight is lower but overall operation seems much smoother and more reliable, and the price is still reasonable. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite spinning reel now. I have had this reel for a couple months now and really like this reel. It is silky smooth and very well constructed. Diawa products are always great!

A magnificent, fast and powerful reel, it is also very light so if you use it with a very long or heavy rod you will have to choose a larger size

This reel preforms like a $150+ reel at a fraction of the price! So smooth and light, but still has a killer drag! Get one for yourself!

My favorite reel. Paired with on older model troutslayer rod from Leland's Lures. Light, rugged, and easy on the eyes. I love it.

Hello, this reel is for fresh water or sea, I have seen in some candles that it says that it is for fresh water.
