Folding tires are not so easy to get around the rim as wire ties. The qualities of the tires (especially the life and puncture) I can only judge if they are a long time in use. I have chosen Continental bicycle tires because I have about 6 years Continental Sport contact tires I used on another bicycle. The puncture of the tire is so good that I've had no leakage outside the "snake bite" because I drove a sharp edge (water on the bike I had a hole not seen in time). That Sport Contact tires I have worn until the tissue became visible (I have a few sets so worn). That bike Schwalbe Marathon were standard straps, and the rear tire when I drove six times leak in six months. So I have no confidence in the "thick protective" Schwalbe. After I replaced the one I have indeed cut by the Continentals, the "thick blue protective" there was a layer of which was thinner than a sheet of paper. Apparently that layer completely flattened once it is punctured, and nothing remains of the puncture left. Therefore, I have much more confidence in a Kevlar or Vectran puncture protection layer as. The first time I was traveling with SportContact straps (Kevlar protective) drove accidentally broken glass, I heard the "tick" because they remained in the race, I am stopped to get out there, and was pleasantly surprised that I did not have a flat tire (with the Schwalbe Marathon I had stood at the side to repair it). Now I hope therefore that the top contact II is at least as reliable as the SportContact, and I have a long time without it leaking TO GET at work, and they also have a long life (which is allowed for that price ... ).

Before our last tour we mounted the Conti. In terms of appearance, it is slightly wider than our previous tires: Schwalbe Mondial, but it fits everywhere. In the meantime we have driven 1700 km with the tire, 1500 of them on our last tour: with the trekking bike over the Alps. That in addition to the own weight of 65/80 kg comes about 25 kg of luggage. Then all kinds of road surfaces on the tour: asphalt, gravel, gravel, grit, just everything there is. Conclusion: Steinchensammler is correct, only sometimes it was a noisy problem, otherwise I did not perceive it as negative. Whether there are previously unrecognized disadvantages, I can not say.Super was the absolutely reliable straight-ahead and the safety when cornering at higher speeds (50 km / h) and just at the high weight of the payload. Also reliable in the rain. To drive gravel and gravel was not easy, but I have not found a tire for the trekking bike, which would be much better. Clearly, the speed, i. the low rolling resistance. That was obvious from the beginning. I could say that well, because I have a comparison track, which I drive regularly as a "measure". So overall I am very satisfied. I will be able to determine wear only after further km. Okay so far.

I have only had this tire for a few weeks now but I am VERY happy with my choice so far. I am by no means a tire OR bicycle expert but I consider myself to have a good eye for quality and I am impressed with the the build of this tire. I must admit that I am biased towards German and Japanese manufactured goods. My experience is that they have always been of a higher quality and more durable. The fact that this one is "hand made" in Germany was the deciding factor in my purchase. I really wish that we produced more products of a higher quality in the U.S. because I would certainly prefer to spend my money domestically. I mounted this tire on a beach cruiser that is ridden almost entirely on hard surfaces. The traction feels excellent. I think the rolling resistance is slightly less, (better), than the very well performing and durable Kenda that came on the bike originally. I was most concerned about puncture resistance. The construction of this tire gives me confidence that it will live up to the incredible durability described in so many reviews by more experienced cyclists.

Haven't put too many miles on these yet, but so far so good. They are a smooth ride and seem pretty fast without sacrificing traction, while riding on paved trails. I put these on my 29er hardtail to replace my Ruebena City Hoppers. I got the Ruebena's pretty cheap ($40 for the pair) and they lasted a good 1,000 miles (front seemed to be fairing better...rear tube blew and put a 4 inch gash in the sidewall), but I figured I'd go a little pricier with this round now that I understand the sizes better and know how many miles I'm likely to put on them on a weekly basis.I went with the 700 x 47, which works out around 29 x 1.85 I believe (the package may have even said 28 x because why keep tiresize simple).

The grip is sahnemäßig - I have never felt so secure in the slant. The tires run very lightly and the driving behavior is also great, one is always looking forward to the next turn. I can not say anything about the impact protection after three weeks. On the road I only drive Contis with Vectranbraker and practically never had a record. I assume that the Top Contact is just as good. The only personal minus: My new 42s have a measured width of 43,5mm and also look visibly neatly wide. Previously I had 37s and now it is tight under the narrow fencing. I thought the 5mm did not make a big difference, but I deceived. Is of course not the fault of Conti.

I was looking for a tire that has a good grip when cornering when wet and the rear wheel does not break when braking sideways. That's what happened to me, at least for the original tires with the Michelin Cross. So I ordered the Conti and after 4 weeks and good 300 km I can say, I found it. Absolute smoothness, no break in the wet of the rear wheel and absolutely secure lateral support on bends. He is stuck on the street. As some have already written, yes he is a pebble collector, but that there are increased rolling noise I can not confirm. For me personally it is a top product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good tire.

After some "cheap" tires with me had not held 3000 km, I tried it again with the Continental Top Contact (this time the second version). At first I was thrilled by the turmoil and liability. After more than 20000 km (twentieth thousand !!) on the rear wheel he begins to tear down at the wheel rim. My weight is nearly 100 kg, often I was traveling with luggage and about a third of the route was unpaved road. During the run time I had a breakdown because of a rippled rim tape but no damage from foreign bodies. And that, although for safety reasons I usually do not take hectic evasive maneuvers before foreign bodies.

I've had many brands and styles of road tires, but for a commuter bike, this has to be one of the best! Out of the box, it is super sticky and the reflective stripe super bright. Putting it on was no easy feat, but 20-25 minutes later I was pumping it up and ready to roll.Since I've put only 10 miles on it, I can't speak to longevity, but I can say that it handles very well. So rain in Portland for a while, but the tread looks rain-ready.Overall, while I'd never heard of this model, I have to say that this may be my luckiest Warehouse Deal score ever!

This are my third pair of Top Contact II tires, and they are great. Before the first pair, I used to puncturing at least one time per month, I tried with anti puncture liquid, anti puncture liner, more expensive tires than my cheaper ones, and all that eventually failed. For one or another reason eventually my tire was deflated by some kind of thorn, glass or nail. Then I knew about this tires on 2009, I tried and after that and never never puncture again. The only occasion when my tire was deflated was a problem of my rim.Best tires I ever used.

I've yet to find a better all around commuter/tour tire. Puncture resistance against broken glass is good, not as good as Continental Gatorskins but pretty close and the traction is much better. The tire compound has good traction well into single digit winter temps which is where other tires I've tried seem to fail. These tires even do surprisingly well in snow. Sidewall tread is excellent for dragging the wheel out of ruts or onto steel plates even when wet. I'm really happy with these and would recommend to any year round city commuter.

I bought a set of these tires to replace the stock Giant tires that came with my Giant Escape after my rear tire slid out from under me on wet pavement. These tires are 700x28 which has a lot lower wall than my original 700x32 tires. I'm very impressed with the ride comfort on these tires.I keep the tire pressure at 65psi. I haven't received any punctures from any debris that accumulates in the bike lanes. The tires grip better than I expected on corners and wet pavement and they roll really fast. I will definitely buy them again.

Great class, the coats have passed the test. On my daily tour I usually had a flat tire every two days because of splinters of glass, now that I have these new coats with an unflattering insole, I do not have any more plates despite broken glass and thorns. Have you raised the same on other wheels. They also run much lighter than the old tires. I can only recommend you to anyone who has a lot of trouble with flat tires.  Will convert even more bikes with it. Class quality, good price / quality ratio. Very fast delivery service.

Product was in a badly damaged box, with a label saying "Thank you for giving this product a second life etc. Amazon Renewed." I thought I was buying a new tire. The tire does look new, so perhaps this is an "open box" item, or discounted due to damaged packaging. Was on sale, but at over 40 dollars for a bike tire, not cheap. I saw nothing in the ad indicating I was buying anything other than a new item. Delivery was prompt and on time. I will keep the tire unless it is found to be defective. Thank you.

I have a Trek XCaliber 7 with the knobby tires. Since I ride 95% of the time on the road I wanted more of a road tire. After lot's of reach I bought the Cont. contact II size 700/37 So far 350 miles and enjoying the ride. There is one thing the tread of these tires really pick up the rocks in the tread. They are about .5 MPH faster. I ride the streets of Mazatlan Mexico and so far no problems except the rocks in the tread. I run 75 lb of air in them. Great tire for the money.

I have chosen this tire according to the specifications of Conti. Contrary to some statements, the tire can not be centered well, I had no problems with it. I can not confirm that the tire is "wider": the 42-gauge tire is also 42mm wide, unlike Schwalbe, where the tire is always narrower than the indication. By the way: the tire rolls very well. I do not have long-term experience yet. Oh yes - Made in Germany - I think so too! Price and delivery very good.
