I needed to replace the two original tires from my Cannondale mountainbike, and chose the CrossKing. I really wanted the TrailKing, but they didn’t have the size to fit my wheels, but in the end, I think I like the CrossKing more than if I had got the full-on mountainbike tire. I found the CrossKing tire excellent in all conditions except loose dry sand, which is less than 1% of my riding. On the asphalt road surface (75% of my riding) the tire performs really very well, and is noticeably more grippy in the turns than my old tires. Off-road, I have no complaints, and it works just about as well as any full off-road tire I have used. Continental Mountain Bike ProTection Tire - Black Chili, Tubeless, Folding Handmade MTB Performance Tire 26 x 2.2. I think I saw another version somewhere that is not made in Germany.I put these on my old S-Works team edition bike. Ned Overend replica.Had 26 x 1.95. I have a a few different tires on the bike but nothing like the Cross King. Decided to go with 26 x 2.2. It fit with adequate clearance. I was using SCHWALBE Big Ben Race but needed more grip. I put this on the front and it seems to pull the bike It actually feels like it has less rolling resistance then the SCHWLALBE. I love the way it feels like it is floating over the bumps.Going with the bigger size made it roll over rocks and stuff with ease.

This is for the Cross King tire. I bought the 29x2.3 Cross King size, and unlike previous versions, this runs true to size. It was easy to mount with an air compressor and a tube. I chose to put a tube in it, hit it with the compressor and let it sit for a couple of hours. That forms the bead better, and allows you to dismount the tire, pull the tube out and set them up tubeless with no issues. I use the Bontrager blue sealant and it does well with no leakage through the sidewall. I think that’s the biggest change over the older X Kings. On the trail they are fast rollers with good grip in hard pack. Georgia trails have a high level of packed clay and gravel, and these tires do well.

Tire fits like a glove, that being said make sure to add a little soap and water to the bead before inflating with air to ensure correct seating. Ignore the review that Continental tires are Hit or Miss, I believe the person did not know how to seat Tire correctly. On my first attempt to seat the tire the bead did not pop on the rim correctly which made it appear wobbly on the rim. I simply deflated Tire added solution of dish soap and water and re-inflated the tire and is seated perfectly at around 45 PSI. Runs true with no wobble now. Great all-around Tire for front and rear.

First time with this model, and quite satisfied. The compound is somewhat coarse and perhaps hard (I know it's not ultra-soft black chili), but it delivers. It evacuates normal mud decently (there is no clay here) and the grip is remarkable when cornering. It remains to wait for the heat to test this model dry ... Remarkable high! Ah! in measure 2.30 average weight for the type of cover. It can be carried to relatively low pressures without fear (I, 1.4-1.6bar.)

In my opinion the tire is a little pricey and the flat packaging was a little tricky to install. So the installation required my using zip ties approximately every 8 inches on the diameter of the rim and tire after I set the beads In place then add air to keep the seal. Maybe someone has a better idea but that was the only way I could evenly the seat the bead and the full circumference of the wheel

I actually was going to buy the mountain kings, but for some reason those are way to expensive right now. I couldn't be happier with the cross kings, they have less rolling resistance than the mk, and almost equal grip!, and the difference is notable between pure grip and blackchilli compounds, there is more grip and less rolling resistance on the latter. (i had mk with pure grip)

I have one of these tires on the front only and I picked this for my first tubeless set up and I couldn't be happier i don't think. I got a 2.1 to go on the back because of size constraints but it seems that the 2.1 is larger than this 2.2 so I'm not sure if this 2.2 tire is smaller than normal or the 2.1 is larger than normal.

The tire arrived 22 days after ordering at my home here in Brazil. I was taxed at 123.00 reais. It was more affordable than buying in Brazil. It came in a very large box that catches the eye. With taxes and freight each tire came out 180 reais and in Brazil is around 260 reais each. Would buy again

So far so good, was able to get it mounted up tubeless very easily and it's holding the air perfectly so far. Construction seems very good, and the tread pattern is exactly what I was looking for. Will update if my opinion changes after taking a few big hits on the trail.

Quality price very good, rolling and good on roads with dry terrain, if you go on roads where you need a lot of grip, they are not the most indicated. Maybe the Maxxis Ikon and race TT are better, but these are not bad and are worth much less.

Great tire, it sticks well on steep slopes, it doesn't slip, it has good cornering, it was a bit difficult to put on a tubeless rim and it1s also tricky to take off, but it can be solved, the only negative it's a weight.

The packaging arrived in perfect condition. I bought this tire to put on the rear wheel of my bike and it didn't disappoint. Very good grip on loose sand and good rolling on tar. Provides security on the fast rails.

I’ve used these tyres on previous bikes and had no issues at all. Bomb proof, fast, sturdy and long wearing. Other major brands have gone ok but just don’t measure up with these. Spend the coin and enjoy the ride.
