bought a brooks a few years ago ; b17. rode it for 30 miles and thoght no way! My problem is i have a small protrusion of bone on the underside of my right pelvis which after a while is like sitting on a small pebble! first found it 20 years ago. as a result ive always had to use soft saddles. Ironically the best saddle i had was a tenner from argos and lasted about 10 years seeing me through cycling tours of up to 1300 miles in 11 days, it bit the bullet so i though id give brooks another try. this has surpassed my expectations and aside from the bone deformity it took about 70 miles to realise this might be the one!

The Brooks Flyer Special is the successor to the Brooks Conquest All Terrain and is an excellent allround saddle for MTB, cross and road bikes. It is still available in the colors honey and dark brown. The copper rents are driven by hand into the leather. The processing is excellent. He evaluates every bicycle. Have driven the predecessor 25 years and tens of thousands of kilometers and have the Brooks Flyer Special since 2012. One of the best saddles I know. Compromise of excellent sitting comfort, great look and good guidance. The ideal saddle to which the B 66 is too bulky and the Swift, Colt or Team Professional should be too hard. The lady pendant is slightly shorter.

I drive the Brooks Kernlederattel since the 90s, in which I bought an Epple trekking bike on which the Brooks saddle was mounted as standard. At first I was skeptical of both the appearance and the saddles, which were available in comparison to the saddles available at that time. My concerns were, however, from a friendly bicycle dealer, with the argument that the leather of the saddle must first adjust the shape of the respective tank of the user. After this adjustment, however, this saddle would be the non-plus ultra for the individual user in terms of comfort. A saddle for long and long-distance riders, which also looks very good. Whoever does not shy away from the overall manageable care needs to pay attention to the fact that leather saddles are to be protected from damp and require a certain break-in period. With a double-butted aluminium frame and aluminium forks, my 'sports hybrid' was quick,nimble and fast. Removing the forks and replacing them with Surly LHT's brought a noticeable improvement in handling, My Flyer added the comfort of a suspension seatpost with the B17 leather saddle of fame.......Faultless, 4408miles over 2.5months with no saddlesores or discomfort. At over 800grams this saddle won't save weight - but do you want comfort & durability?Like all leather saddles, use a cover overnight to keep rain / dew / Norwegian magpies off!

Due to health problems my doctor advised me to rebuild my bike ergonometrically. Since much my choice on the saddle Brooks Flyer special, which seemed to me the best suited. This was confirmed to me by friends. The first driving impression was satisfactory and I am optimistic that it can only improve after a given break-in period. Before the first ride I treated the saddle from below and above with Brooks leather grease. It is best to apply the fat with an old toothbrush. The quality, workmanship and handling qualities convinced me.

The flyer special is not exactly favorable in the purchase and who cares for it according to the recommendations of the manufacturer with the special grease, will also spend a lot of money during maintenance. In addition, the first kilometers (we were about 200) are still not as comfortable, because the leather must adapt to the very first. Nevertheless, the purchase is worthwhile for those who want to make longer trips and comfortable (in my opinion much more comfortable than on gel saddles).

Great allround saddle with tight suspension. Do not stick to the saddle more than with plastic saddles during high heat and strenuous tours. Saddle only very occasionally grease on top, otherwise it will soft as a shoe. Can be tightened by means of a tensioning screw. Optimal adaptation to body anatomy. Protect from rainfall by means of a bag. Brooks holds 20 years with good care. There are no better (and more beautiful) saddles. Never again plastic!

To brooks saddles one needs to say nix ... 100000km on my first.will be with my new, same model, no different, and the first is by the way still as good as the first day, the second now only because of e bike, which immediately I'm not sure if this is the case, but I'm not sure if this is the case Already driven into the madness, because of back pain in the lumbar area, with brooks I drive 6 hours on the day without any problem!

Excellent product, I already own a regular Flyer in black, so I knew what to expect. It's comfortable over very long hours on the saddle, doing long-distance touring of 8 hours+ a day over several weeks in south america, Spain and Italy I didn't get any problems with saddle sores or any serious pain. The springs soak up the jitter from the road and without bouncing you around.

A new saddle had to come. The top model of a Upper Bavarian manufacturer chosen by the specialist retailer after Bodyscan unfortunately only caused pain. I decided to buy a Brooks after years. Very fast delivery, draufgebaut, fits as poured. Keeps hopefully longer than the whole silicone-Murks. But thanks to the supplied rain cover and wrench, this should be possible.

I bought this brooks saddle about a year ago now, it is now much more comfortable, now that it is broken in so to speak, I hope it will last me years. I did what the company suggested and oiled the saddle underneath, I have used neatsfoot oil which is an excellent softener for leather. I would highly recommend this saddle to anyone.

After many plastic and gel saddles, back to nature. The first ride was unusual as expected but ok. After 300 km it is just comfortable. Day trips are fun again. A small drop of bitterness, it squeaks more and more. It wasn't clear to me. Let's see if I can somehow get this under control. I still don't want to miss him anymore.

If you're thinking of buying a brooks saddle just do it. Comfortable from day one. This design cannot be bettered it is supremely nice. Unless you are competing in the tour de France don't worry about the weight as the comfort is far more important than being perched on a nasty piece of black plastic. Utterly brilliant.
