I was going to buy a B17 like I have on my road bike but took a chance and bought this for my cyclocross. Christ on a bike it's comfy! Brooks have employed elven craftsmen who weave magical powers on unicorn hide and create saddles of mystical comfort. Straight out of the box I did 30 miles off-road and my nad-sack felt like it had massaged by a hareem of vestal virgins. It has doubled the weight of my bike but who cares, if my plums are happy, I'm happy!

I have tried gel seats and covers and a number of different saddles but none come close to the original. I guess if you are a super athlete then you can get used to somthing cutting you in two and even this saddle needs breaking in but for me the original is the best. I know purests will bang on about weight but I can work a lot harder if I am comfortable.

Saddle was ordered whilst on holday was there waiting for me attached it to my new bike it was as per other reveiws if you want a saddle thats comfy from the start this is the one it will last for years providing you look after and makes my touring bike completeThe 5 stars are for brooks classic workmanship a great british company buy british buy the best

A leather hammock, on springs. It doesn't get better than this. Apply plenty of Brooks wax and leave it to soak in overnight in a warm place before use - cuts down on the breaking in period. A little hard at first, but stick with it, you will be rewarded.

Plenty of dubbin applied regularly, occasional tension adjustment.Now fits like a glove.Have ridden leather Brooks saddles for decades. For me there is no better saddle on the market:

Excellent quality saddle with great comfort and ride. The colour adds a touch of class to my bicycle. Would have appreciated a touch more of the leather protector, there wasn't enough.

Comfort straight from the box as always excellent quality should last a life time more comfortable than my brooks swift however a heavy saddle but we'll worth the sacrifice!

Used for the pilot's seat on a kiddyback tandem. Tandems are notorius for their lack of suspension therefore every pothole is felt unless your seat has suspension

Great comfy saddle , if it was soft leather it wouldn't last ... good leather balm and cling film....leave over night , ride and repeat a few times job done ?

The brookes seat i ordered from you is very good and after a while very comfy we bike every day about 15 miles to keep fit
