Our youngest, who’s slap bang in the middle of the target age range, was immediately taken by this. The green lights are super-bright and flash quickly, so it’s extremely attention-grabbing.The large wheels mean that the monkey can travel quite well over a variety of surfaces, and can motor onto rugs and through thick carpets without too many problems. It never reaches a speed that could cause any damage to the legs of your furniture. It makes unusual monkey noises that, while they start grating after a while, are somehow not as irritating as many of the other electronically reproduced noises that plastic toys for this age group can be.There are no volume options. There’s an on-off switch on the back that’s big enough for even a small child to switch fairly easily, as well as the big activation button on the top. What threw us- and I’m honestly not sure if this is a design feature or a fault, I suspect it’s the latter- is that the large top button sometimes stops responding. If you switch the toy off and on again at the back (thanks IT Crowd) then the button starts working again. Coupled with the fact that the button does different things each time you press it, it turns out to be quite a frustrating button a young child who expects the same response every time. There’s not a great deal of variety to it, and it doesn’t have any turning or reversing capability, so it’s a bit of a one-trick pony and even our youngest, though immediately entertained by it, lost interest in it relatively quickly, so I’m going to go against the grain of the so-far-all-5-stars reviews and settle for 4.

This is a bright and stimulating little toy. Press the button on the monkey's head to set off the music and get him rolling around chattering and giggling as he goes. It is quite loud and the lights are bright. I found it doesn't roll well on thick pile carpet, like on rugs, as it gets a bit stuck, but is great on smoother short pile carpet or smooth flooring like tile or wood. It is ideal for crawling babies or those just learning to walk, as they can crawl or chase after it. The age range is quite wide from 6 to 36 months, but I think it is more suited between 6 to 24 months. I do not think it will hold the interest of an older child for long and they would easily bore of such a toy.My niece is almost 1 and just starting to walk and she laughs and giggles at it and likes picking him up. It is easy to wipe over and is made well, so is durable to being chewed and swung around a bit by a little one.

Aimed at 6-36 months, this is a fun toy for babies and toddlers. My little great niece is fourteen months and just beginning to toddle, but mainly crawls, so this is perfect for her. You have a cheerful money, who is clutching two, bright green wheels. The top of his head has a red hat/button - press this to start the music playing, the monkey chattering and the toy rolling, for baby to chase. The toy lights up and, if you stop playing with it, turns itself off with a giggle. The button is easy for her to press and the toy rolls well on carpet as well as tiles, or wooden floors. The toy is easy to wipe clean - important for toddlers who chew. I would say it is best for ages 1-2 though,as I doubt three year olds would get too much play value from this. Lots of fun for little ones though.

This is a brilliant, fun toy for ages up to 2.5 approximately - my 3 year old has been playing with this but but so interested as she's more into role play items etc but my 2 year old niece is happily chasing it around and enjoying the spontaneity of where it can go and what sounds it will play. The options are fairly limited hence why over 3's may find this initially fun but lose interest very quickly. It's cute, the lights are attractive and it doesn't go fast enough or have the power to damage any furniture it runs into. It's also fairly capable over carpets, rugs and goes faster on wooden floors.Good fun, great for the very young and will make them laugh and fascinate them! Recommended.

Whilst this toy is targeted at little ones from 6 until 36 months, I think it is better aimed at the lower scale of this age-range with a two-and-a-half-years old upper limit as a 3 year old will not get much from it.The toy is friendly looking and easy to operate - you push the red button on his head and off he goes, chittering and rolling away to be chased, accompanied by the sound of music and giggles as the little one tries to catch him. It's great fun and my little one has loved chasing him around shouting "Monkey Monkey" whilst trying to catch him.Great for little ones starting to crawl or walk and for those slightly older who are steady on their feet and can give chase well.

This is a really fun baby toy which I think is probably best aimed at between 9 and 24 months with supervision for the younger little ones.To activate the monkey you press the red button on top of its head and it responds with music, chatter and the green hoops it has hold of light up and it rolls. The red button produces different reactions from the monkey so that it isn't doing the same thing all of the time and it's a fun toy that is great for encouraging crawling or walking from a little one.I like Bright Starts toys and this is another really good toy from the brand and surprisingly not as annoying as it seems that it may be with its music and lights - just good fun.

I bought this cheeky chappie as a Christmas present for my five month old daughter after seeing it boxed in a department store. The display model brought a smile to my face with its bright green flashing wheels, and the monkey's enthusiastic chatterings. In action, the monkey delights my daughter, although I was a little disappointed that it didn't quite meet my high expectations. Whilst it rolls around quite well over all surfaces, it has its limitations - chiefly that it only goes forwards. Once it hits an object, that's it, no more monkeying around. Were it able to go into reverse, this would get the full five stars.

MONKEY========Used this with an older baby (14 months old) and she loved it from the start. She'd clap for it the second she saw it out of the box.COLOURFUL===========The green lights are bright and it's particularly nice to use when it's a little darker.PAIN====However I find it a pain that you have to press to press the button again and again to keep it on. I know it's nice to have an auto cut off but I'd prefer it to be a little longer.OVERALL========I suppose I'd moan if it stayed on too long too. The little'un loves it and it's sturdy enough to survive the routine knocks and bashes.

This is a lovely toy. It encourages baby to spend time on their tummy and to get moving! The gender neutral design is a big plus for me. I also like that the lights and sounds and rubbery feel ad to the multi sensory angle. As this can be controlled by the child who can turn it on and off with a simple push this is also teaching them about actions/reaction and affecting the world around them Most things covered.Monkey is not too annoying, can be wiped clean with a baby wipe and is i think best for the 6-12 month brigade...once walking it's not so much fun!

We only have good things to say about this. It’s perfect for around 6 months to second birthday, but especially for crawling babies – they can crawl after it as it rolls its way across the floor, lights flashing, music playing, monkey chattering. After a fairly short time, if not played with, it switches off with a giggle. The red button is easy for a baby to press to get it going again. Once they start to walk, I imagine they’ll lose interest before too long, but it really is a top toy for a year or two.

This toy is pretty good.Really bright and loud and moves really well. My little boy loves watching it. I wouldn’t say it makes him want to move but it’s early days. This would have got 5 stars but unfortunately it turns itself off. You cant push the button to get the thing moving you have to switch it on and off. Which becomes annoying.Other than that. Really well made, really noisy and fun. Fast delivery.

Bright starts are really good and make some fun stuff. Not quite up there with Fisher price but I trust them to make solid products. This Monkey is aimed at infants, it lights up, plays music and rolls which is very stimulating and ideal for getting your little one crawling and engaged.Batteries are included which is great and it seem's robust enough to take some abuse.

I bought this for my 8 month old son who is getting ready to crawl. Even though he can't crawl yet he loves this toy so much already! It moves, makes sounds and also lights up. It always catches my son's attention when I turn it on for him. I love how it came with batteries included too as it's rare that toys do! Decent price too. ***** 5 stars!

I have just said that my 1 year old grandsons favourite birthday toy, was his VTech Paw Patrol Pups rescue driver. But then I saw this & don't know how I could have forgotten, this toy never fails to amaze him & bring a smile to his face. If he's having a strop this is the toy to reach for, he can't help but smile again. Very well made.

This is a bright and engaging monkey toy with lights and sounds, it's quite noisy but fun and stimulating for older babies. It rolls along the floor when pushed, which is easy to activate. The toy is plastic but thick durable plastic not too flimsy, the quality overall is good
