This baby swing is one of the really useful baby products out there – and there are a LOT that are very much NOT useful! It is a well-made, simple to assemble swing that does exactly what it is meant to.When you take the swing out of the box you have to assemble the parts by pushing the springloaded pin locks on the poles together – these ensure that you can take the seat apart but they also hold the structure securely in place. The poles themselves are plastic coated tubular steel so extremely sturdy and strong. They are also nice and easy to clean which is always a bit of a bonus. It also has non slip feet which is really useful on floors that are not carpeted – we have tended to move swingswith us through the house so the baby has been wherever we are and this is not always on a carpeted surface – there has been lino and wood and the extra grip of the feet mean the swing won’t start ‘walking’ itself over the floor when it is in use.The swing motor has several different speeds which you can set meaning there should be a perfect soothing setting for any baby and it’s also important to note that the motor on this is extremely quiet. I wouldn’t say completely silent but it’s not something that isn’t going to disturb a baby or drive a parent crazy with incessant background humming – something that suddenly becomes very important when you have lots of electronic toys and equipment about. The seat for the baby is adjustable depending on the size of the baby you want to put into it and there is a 5 point harness so that babies are secure in the swing – this is pretty essential – newborns cannot do much but they soon learn to wriggle themselves about and sometimes lead with their head if they really exert themselves – you don’t want a baby plummeting out of this head first and as long as you fit these straps correctly you don’t have much chance of this happening. The seat itself is wonderfully bright and colourful and the hanging toys are soft but interesting for little hands to pull at. It is certainly nice to look at for parents as well as children. It is easy for fold the seat up so you can tuck it away when it is not in use – this is a feature which many more products really should have. To be able to fold up and put away is so important in most homes where space is usually at a premium it makes it high on my priority list whenever I am looking for a baby product. Folding the swing up does require two hands and quite a bit of co-ordination so it is unlikely that anyone other than an adult could do it meaning no trapped fingers if siblings try to ‘help’ at any point.Sadly this baby swing does not come with batteries so if you are buying as a gift you may want to include these. It’s a bit of a shame these are not in the box as for the price it’s the sort of thing I would expect as standard but then it’s not a major hardship to buy some and fit them – 4x C size 1.5V - if you are anything like us you will already have drawers full of different sizes of batteries just in case some of the toys or small person paraphernalia needs a new power source – better an excess of batteries than the wrath of a toddler! Like most toys or equipment for children now, the batteries are housed in a compartment which requires a small screw to be loosened to take the lid off so be aware that you will need a small Philips screwdriver for this.Overall it’s hard to fault this product and it’s something we really enjoy using and hope to continue using for a while yet.

This really is a cute piece of baby furniture. Priced at £59.99 on 27th August 2016, I obtained it for a great nephew and his mum; my favourite niece. Most mums are concerned with SAFETY, so lets address that first. The swing possesses a safety strap 5 point fixing system which allows the baby to be fitted in snuggly and securely via a series of adjustable straps. The swing itself is sturdy and well made, with feet positioned to ensure that it is stable in use, even for the most energetic. The position of the seat is also adjustable, taking into account the size of the baby; combine that with no sharp edges and overall this is a pretty safe item for the nursery and more importantly, adjusting the position of the seat allows the "swing motor" to regulate the speed which the baby is rocked at. All in all, a really well made and safe addition to any home with a young baby.It looks easy to clean and after speaking to a friend who purchased one for her granddaughter, she confirmed how easy it is to wipe away any spills or other things! So what else do you get for £59.99? Well the swing is very bright and colourful, which I am informed by the feminine members of our family is extremely stimulating for babies; the item is also CE certified regarding the materials used, so again safe if an older baby decided to try and eat it! There are two detachable "toys"/mobiles to stimulate the baby, which are easily removed to allow access to remove him. Setting up from storage is very simple as is collapsing it for transport or storage; space is very much a premium in modern homes and this item does collapse quickly and neatly for storage. So why only 4 stars? I do feel that this is a first class item and worthy of 5 stars, however, I feel that young families and their doting extended family are a bit exploited in regards to cost. This item can be produced in high volumes very cheaply and whilst much of the competition is just as, if not more expensive, it really is quite expensive for what it is and for how long it will be used for. I was also disappointed that the item did not have any batteries with it to power the motor; I just felt that at the price point, they should have been included. In conclusion, a great rocker for the young family, well made, keeping baby secure and I am sure will provide the necessary physical and mental stimulation for an awake child to relax.

As an easy to assemble and portable baby swing this ticks all the boxes, it folds away for storage purposes and has a lovely bright pattern all over.To get it up and ready to use you need a screwdriver and 4 (1.5v) batteries, these are not supplied. The instructions are mostly sketches that go through point by point and easy to follow. For baby`s comfort the seat is very supportive and it has a five point safety harness, all straps are very well made and the clasps totally secure. There are two toys hanging from the overhead toybar, (removable) these are brightly coloured and a good size for older babies to grasp firmly in their hands. I have tried wiping down the cover to see how easy it is to keep clean and it`s a doddle, there are no hidden corners for germs to lurk. It should never be immersed in water.Very importantly there is no annoying sound keep baby from dozing over when the swing is in operation, the TrueSpeed Control ring turns clockwise and has six settings, choose the speed you want from one of six but as baby grows the swing speed will adapt automatically. The swinging motion is smooth and even the most restless baby ought to be comforted, this is not recommended for sleeping in so baby ought to be moved to a suitable cot should they fall asleep. In my opinion this is ideal for keeping the child happy while you get time to have a shower or prepare a meal but the cost of keeping it up in batteries could prove expensive over time. The seat has two positions, the first is for babies who are still too small to support their heads. All in all it is a good swing and well constructed, with the added bonus of being portable you can take it along when visiting friends or having a meal out. Babies have so much equipment these days but if it is a swing you are looking for this one seems to be fairly well priced.

The Bright Starts Kaleidoscope Safari portable swing comes ready for assembly, which takes just a few minutes. The frame is constructed of plastic coated tubular steel; the component parts slip easily together and are held in place by spring-loaded locking pins. The only tool required is a Philips screwdriver to open and lock the battery compartment. Four type “C” batteries (not supplied) are required. Although disassembly is simple, the locking pin ensure the integrity of the structure in use.At the heart of the very colourful swing is the comfortable, hammock style seat, with a five point, click-close, harness to keep baby safe. The seat folds flat for very young babies, but can be changed to a slightly reclining position as baby grows. Above the seat is an easily removable padded toy bar.Why the batteries? Well, the Bright Starts Kaleidoscope Safari has a seven speed, totally silent, motor that gently swings the seat to rock the baby. The speed is selected by a rotary control on the side. However, even without the motor running, it is still a very handy baby seat. When not in use, the swing can be folded flat for storage or transportation. This is a very simple procedure, but needs two hands to operate the release mechanism, so it would be virtually impossible for an older child to do it. This is very handy, as we have a new baby granddaughter and the swing can be stored under the stairs for when she visitsI’m very impressed with the Bright Starts Kaleidoscope Safari; it’s a very sturdy, very attractive, swing, but most importantly, it’s very baby-friendly and very safe.

This is quite a sweet baby swing. Looks-wise this is on the subtle, subdued side – mainly white and grey, with a few flashes of green added to the plastic parts, and rainbow coloured dots and circles printed on the cover and toy arch.On getting this out of the box, I wasn’t as impressed as I could have been. Even though this was brand new, and I was unsealing the packaging for the first time, there were a lot of dirty marks on the frame pieces. This is fairly easy to assemble – there are less than a dozen pieces to slot together to build the frame – feels very secure and robust once built, and can be taken down easily too if space is an issue, or if you’re going to stay with friends/family and want to take it with you. This has an inbuilt harness and a little cushioned pillow section that can be added behind baby’s head. Around the edges of the seat pad, there are several little ribbon taggie pieces for sensory exploration, and a play arch with two toys (a soft bodied elephant, and a hard monkey with textured noise making pieces) attached by sewn-on hangers. The swing is motorised, and takes batteries (4x size C, not supplied) and is rather battery hungry – worth perhaps investing in a couple of sets of rechargeables.Unfortunately, this didn’t last us well. My baby nephew decided that he’d start sitting up independently and crawling at just five months – traits that made this unsafe/unsuitable for him significantly earlier than the estimated 9 months.

This is a lovely piece of baby kit! First of all it's pretty heavy - almost 4kg. There's some assembly required but saying that it's easy enough to put together. You'll need a Philips head screwdriver. Oh and they don't supply you with batteries (a bit annoying). You'll need 4 of the 'C' batteries (LR14) and they'll set you back about £4 for a 4 pack or Durracell's.I love the design of it - "kaleidoscope safari" - very cute! You get 6 speeds and the seat has two different positions so it's of use for different stages of the babies development. The box doesn't have an age range but instead says it's suitable from birth until the baby can sit unassisted. The speed is adjusted from the side so there's no chance of the baby accidentally changing the setting. One of the nicest features about it is the fact that it can be easily folded for storage and transportation. There are a couple of removable mobile toys to play with also. There are no sharp edges and it can be easily cleaned.Overall I'm really impressed and my baby niece loves it! My only complaint is that for £60 you'd think they'd include a pack of batteries. C/LR14 sized batteries aren't particularly standard and we had to go out and buy a pack. Hence the reason I've given it 4 rather than 5 stars.

There are a ton of baby products out there, so many in fact, that you have to carefully sit down and work out what you really need due to storage rather than being able to have everything. One thing that I always feel is essential for your new baby is a rocker. They're worth thier weight in gold when you're trying to get baby to sleep when they're being crotchety as the gentle rocking motion works like a charm every time.THis one, I feel is the best on th emarket. Why?1) You have a five point strap system to help keep baby secure.2) Its bright colours which babies love3) Its well made and pretty tough4) Folds down for easy storage and carrying.Yes against some others its pricier but at the end of the day,its for your special baby, you want the best and with a name like Bright Starts attached it has that added piece of mind for you knowing the rigerous checks that its undergone to earn thier name. Finally its easy to assemble with image instructions, is rugged and all round, is defintiely something that you'll be more than happy you purchased. Just remember what Sir Henry Royce said: "The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten."

This is a superb little swing, very space saving if like me you don't have a lot of room. It cradles the child and has a 5 point harness with a deep seat so very safe for them. It has 2 reclining positions and is weight sense technology that keeps the swing going at a constant speed. As baby gets bigger it has sensors that will alter the speed of swing with the weight. There are two removable toys on the bar, easy to take off and wash. The whole swing folds flat for transportation if needed or just to store away. It's very quiet so won't disturb your baby. I had a crying baby yesterday which couldn't be pacified, so put her in the swing and within 10 mins she was fast asleep and very peaceful, she wasn't disturbed as the swing is so quiet. When she woke up she didn't want to come out in fact cried when we eventually lifted her out. So now we know how to keep her quite, she loved it. It's very colourful with picture of a cute money on it, so plenty to keep baby occupied. I love this if you have a grizzly child just pop them in here and they will love it. All very safe and sturdy.

This is one of those things that you think is a luxary but soon realise it is a necessity. The swing is easy to assemble, taking under ten minutes from packing to getting baby in it.It is beautifully decorated and well thought out with wipe clean material to clean up any messes and eye catching toys and tags for little hands to explore. To use the swinging motion and music is really easy, you just use the control panel on the side which is self explanatory, it gives you a choice of speed, volume and a timer too.Baby is held securely and can’t wriggle or fiddle them selves free, giving you somewhere secure to leave them while you do some of life’s essential jobs,I found it great to bring in the kitchen and put little one in while I cooked, we could both see and hear each other but my hands were free and I could crack on.It is small enough and easy enough to fold down to allow you to take with you on trips to see granny etc.

Consists of five separate pieces plus a pillow. I found it fairly easy to assemble using the supplied instructions, took about 5 mins in fact. You will need 3 ‘C’ batteries, and a small screwdriver, for the electronic side of the chair. The dial on one side controls both movement and speed of movement. There are two other buttons, one gives a timer function between 15 and 45 mins in fifteen min segments the other switches on the music, the longer you hold this button the louder it gets but it never gets to the stage where you want to put your hands over your ears. It seems well made, sturdy, and easy to fold and move about. Fits easily in the boot of a small hatchback. The material is also easy wipe clean for those little accidents. In use the baby can be fastened in securely so no chance of them making an unplanned escape bid. We have found that the slow speeds work best, little un quickly nods off.Overall very pleased.

Really lovely bit of kit. The colours are bright and vibrant, it's easy to assemble straight out of the box and feels well constructed and designed. The seating element is easy to maintain and mop up all those little spillages and it has two detachable toys which attach to the overhead bar. Most of the time I do use these swing chairs as just static devices and this one works particularly well in that respect with its adjustable angled seat and I'm not usually a fan of the swig motions on a lot of these which can be noisy and a bit jittery but the motor on this one works well, isn't combined with jangly music and the movement is quite fluid although I still prefer it without induced motion.Itcompares very favourably with any other similar product I've previously used or seen so I guess it may just come to aesthetics or personal preference. I think its fab looking myself.

The Whimsical Wind portable baby swing by Bright Starts is a fantastic baby swing over all - it's well designed, entertaining for your baby, easy to assemble and most importantly for a portable swing, easy to travel with.Out of the box, it feels sturdy and well-made - you can assemble it by clicking it together with just a couple of screws to give it additional strength in under 5 minutes, install the batteries (you do need to get these separately, which is pretty standard for kids' toys and accessories), and off you go. The movement is soothing and relaxing to the baby, pacifying and stopping them from crying as well as being entertaining with a cute monkey and elephant hanging from the top bar. It's easy to clean - the material comes off easily - and it's also very easy to travel with, collapsing to fit in the boot of your car. This is a recommended purchase!

This lovely bright swinging seat is really sturdy with a durable feel and non slip feet. It has 2 toys for when baby is a bit older, but can be used even from birth as the seat recline can be adjusted to flat. The seat can be used as is, or will swing itself ( needs 3 big (C ) batteries - not supplied) in 7 different speeds so you are sure to find one that suits baby best. Swing seats are really useful devices for little babies who just want to be cuddled all the time will give you enough time to allow mum to pop to the loo, have a cuppa or even a hallowed shower!!!However the very best thing about this compared to some I have seen is that it easily folds flat for storage when not in use whichis really great if you don't have too much room because babies come with loads of stuff that takes up so much space!

I had decided against baby swings as my youngest at the time of getting this hated being in hers. This swing is an absolute hit with my latest little one. My partner had it ready to go a few minutes after it came out of the box. It is brightly coloured in a way that appeals to the little one and is not annoying for the parent to look at. The little is safely strapped in with a 5 point harness strap which makes you confident that they won't come to harm. The speed of the swing can be varied and the two hanging rattle toys provide added entertainment for your little one. I like this and think it's great value for money.

Fabulous little baby swing. Easy to put together, batteries easy to fit (4 x 1.5v ) although not supplied. Easy to put down and take anywhere you may need a comfy secure place for baby. easy to wipe down without too many places for crumbs etc to lurk. Adjusts to weight of baby with regards to swinging motion which is also quite quiet compared to others ive used. Different speeds of swing and two diferent seating positions depending on age of baby . colourful and has some lovely eye catching dangling toys to keep baby amused. All in all apart from the cost of batteries which I feel may be high its a good purchase.
